This deck is made of only cards that will not rotate out in the next cycle.
The strategy of this deck it to play low-cost, hard to to kill or "sticky" minions (like Ornery Tortioise, Bronze Gatekeeper, Saronite Taskmaster and Injured Blademaster) that you can keep alive with your healing hero power. Because the Odd Priest healing is so powerful, it will hurt your opponent more in trades because yours will have a better chance of surviving and then being restored.
Glitter Moth is used to make your minions even more sticky. You can follow with Inner Fire as a finisher.
Also, Northshire Cleric + Lightwarden + Holy Nova is pretty great.
That being said, I think it's a mediocre deck in the current meta, which is currently at its peak. I'm hoping to have better luck with it after rotation.
you're crippling yourself while stuff like Fungalmancer is still in rotation if you don't use them. And since you don't know what's coming new next rotation, it really doesn't make any sense.
A.) I already dusted my old stuff (except for the Winter Veil bundle I just bought) to get new stuff for next rotation and classic Legends like Maly and Bloodmage. Do you having any suggestions for additions/substitutions for cards that I own? I’m not interested in investing in cards about to rotate out. My collection is public and available to view on Hearthpwn.
B.) I like experimenting with new cards. If I keep using the old stuff, I’ll be less likely to give the new stuff a chance. Yes, I completely realize I’m crippling myself. It is purposeful.
c.) Even though you either downvoted or caused this to be downvoted, you can plug your Odd Aggro Priest decklist, or link to it, for the current meta here . I’m not trying to compete with yours, and they probably won’t overlap anyway.
all of that is fine, but it doesn't make for a good standard deck. And yes, I tried it. Even if only for ~5 games. That's why I down voted.
If you just want to keep it for yourself, you can always keep decks private.
I've been doing lots of tests with odd aggro priest before but it doesn't work out well. The bonus you get from only odd cards is way too low. Glitter Moth is only a big impact if you actually have a good board already and doesn't help you otherwise. And your hero power is worked around by trading. Means that you lose the board and have no way of catching up back again, meaning it get's stomped by all other aggro decks and most control decks, leaving you okish against combo decks, and even here you often lose the board against board clears before you can moth.
And that's for odd decks that don't cripple themselves with not using all cards.
Well, at least you owned up to downvoting it, and you say you played it. But, I did state that it was not going to be great right now because we are probably in one of the toughest metas ever at this moment.
If you still have some old cards lying around:
After our conversation I looked at what's strong at the moment and if it fits into an odd priest deck. And I came up with this:
It works better than I expected, maybe you want to have a try.
