Hi friends,

After a short break, we're back with the last half of the budget deck series! Remember, you can find the rest of the videos over here!

I thought warlock was going to be a pretty straightforward build given the plethora of great aggro cards. It was actually pretty difficult to narrow things down! As always, here's our criteria for the series.

Criteria:

  • No set dust limit.
We don't want to set an arbitrary number to go by, but still be conscious of how much we are spending and provide downgrade/sidegrade options when available. We also want to generally steer clear of Epics and Legendaries.

  • Focus on the CORE of a deck.
Let's define the absolute necessities of the deck. Identify what the strongest cards are and build around that.

  • Have a reasonable upgrade path.Using budget versions of existing archetypes provides players with the ability to spend more dust to have a 'complete' deck. This way, if someone enjoys the deck or has more resources, they get more bang for their buck!

  • Prioritize cards that aren't rotating.
A new season is almost upon us and it's a smart idea to avoid crafting those year of the kraken cards. We want our dust to go long AND strong!

With that in mind, let's take a look at the core of Demon Zoolock.

The Core:

2 Flame Imp
2 Kobold Librarian
2 Voidwalker
2 Demonfire
2 Vulgar Homunculus
2 Crystalweaver
2 Doomguard

For an in depth talk about the cards, check out the accompanying video. The core of the deck is mostly our efficient minions and demon synergies.

A Notable Omission:

Bloodfury Potion

The potion is a great card, however it is a rare from a set that's just about to cycle. If you have them, definitely get them in the deck. If not, just be cautious about crafting!

The Muscle:

1 Abusive Sergeant
2 Glacial Shard
2 Malchezaar's Imp
2 Soulfire
2 Dire Wolf Alpha
2 Darkshire Councilman
2 Despicable Dreadlord
1 Fungalmancer

To ensure we can get out ahead of our opponents, we bulk up on early game plays. If you don't have Malchezaar's Imp, Blood Imp is a suitable replacement. The Dreadlord has been great with so much Paladin on ladder, though any reasonable 4 or 5 drop will do (eg. Ravenous Pterrordax or Cobalt Scalebane). Feel free to play around with the Fungalmancer and Sergeant numbers too!

Flex slots:

2 Spellbreaker

Like always, include cards that work well against the decks you’re facing on the ladder!

Feedback:

Think this deck is too far out of your budget? Got some card suggestions? Had some good/ terrible luck with the list? Let me know! This project will be ongoing and I'm always looking for ways to improve.

I'm also looking for suggestions on the next deck for the series! You can hit me up here on Hearthpwn or at Twitter.
