Big-Time Racketeer maybe might see some budgeted play possibly. Most 8 drops are usually incredible at this point except Tortollan Primalist and Anomalus
Maybe a possible chance for Big Time Racketeer?
I'm pretty sure that you're right it won't work. Brann still has to be on the board for the battlecry to go off a second time.
What I'm really curious about though, is if the battle will fire a second time if a 1 mana minion is transformed into Brann by the initial battlecry. Does anyone know if it works that way when master of evolution creates a Brann?
you're correct, it would transform brann, but hearthstone is a card game, and in card games, even ones with closed turns, there are things called stacks. if you don't know what that is, it's basically a list of effects that happen in order of played/triggered. whereas some effects trigger after you cast something, for instance wild pyromancer triggers after a spell, brann's effect checks and triggers before you cast a minion with battlecry, meaning even if he dies or he's silenced or he transforms, he'll still cast the battlecry again. if he were to work that way, his ability would read something like "after you play a card with battlecry, trigger it again".
Tested in wild (Part of my 35 legendaries shaman deck), can confirm it does evolve everything 4 times if you have a brann on the board.
I'm excited for this card but I think people are overreacting to the power level of it. I've played a ton of dopplvolve shaman making legend with a midrange variant back in Jan or Feb before this token deck was a thing.
Dopplvolve is a 2 card combo with no other conditions getting 3 six drops, coining this out can win a game on the spot.
Thrall can only be played when you have a board and really, you want a specific board to do it on ie value trade with like a Stonehill and a thing from below then Thrall. The next problem is that so many minions now have battlecry's and generally poor stats, at least with dopplvolve you know your getting exactly 3 six drops everytime.
In control matchups the Hero power will get insane value, but like Master of evolution; evolving just 1 minion might not be enough of an impact.
All in all im happy team 5 surprised us with the DK not being freeze oriented and I'll definitely be building a midrange deck around this card.
Agreed. A massive part of why Evolve is strong is that it's only 1 mana, so it can be played with a lot of stuff from hand. This can't. Late in the game if you already have a board, just play Bloodlust and win the video game.
I don't even think the hero power part is necessarily that great. I'm thinking about comparing it to Dinomancy. When trading, the health reset from the evolve is statistically almost surely better than +2/+2. Trading a 6/6 for 6 into a 5-attack minion, then rerolling to a 7 drop is great, but like with Dinomancy, you have to have that minion on the board.
Its enough strong card as long as he enters in game, just including an evolving hero power makes just finish the job (also he could attack twice if he held a weapon cause you change your hero) ... I think this thing is going to be a threat being so cheap. Also i see mad scientist running in this deck for kill doomsayers.
I'M VERY EXCITED FOR THIS CARD
IT LOOKS VERY INTERESTING AND FUN TO PLAY WITH
10 mana / Gain 5 armor / Summon 3 random 7mana minions.
I'm totally gonna build a Jade+Freeze+murloc+evolveshaman just for the memes.
It's important to note that all of the good evolve minions are costed at 6 (like thing from below, nerubian prophet etc.) and getting an 8 drop instead of a 7 drop is a tremendous difference.
Trolden likes this, i guess
Kappa
His hero-power is like a 0/0, upgraded Recombobulator
I was referring to the 2 mana cost, however, your example is probably better...
People seem to hate mine xD
When in doubt, TRANSFORM HARDER!
the difference between 3 6 drops (whith evolve) and 3 7 drops isnt that high i guess. with Jarraxxus its having a 6/6 or not having a 6/6 (much higher impact). either your opponent has a way to clear the borad or he doesnt. and if he cant deal with 3 7 drops he mostlikely couldnt deal with 3 6 drops either (unless you have really bad rng ^^)
on the other hand: Doppelgngster + double evolve is just one more card for 3-mana less. Also, the difference between 6 and 7 mana minions isn't that big (unless triple Dred)
basically any deck that loses to that combo would lose vs regular Evolvegangster anyways. If it becomes a problem they should just nerf that synergy in general and make Doppelgangsters lackeys 2-drops or something
I agree on that. If Medivh + Free from Amber is being used as a pure win condition, this Shaman thing will even be more powerful, as you have 1 more minion on board. Besides that Medivh + Free from Amber cannot be done in 1 turn, whereas Shaman is able to do so now.
