I love this card. When it first came out people assumed you had to build a deck around it and they complained that it wasn't strong or competitively viable. And then people realized you can just put it in a control deck as a lategame win condition. There's no need to force yourself to draw into it as fast as possible. And now it's become basically a staple in control decks. If you don't have Monkey you lose to decks that run it once you're out of removal. And it's design is so perfect, it tells a story and lets you ride along on the adventure, hunting for the Golden Monkey. It's stats are well optimized. It has randomness, but not enough to make it unplayable. This is Hearthstone card design at it's best.
when you are vs c thun warrior as standart control warrior, your only win condition is just playing the monkey and getting eadric, tinkmaster, sylvanas or removal from nexus champion saraad and nefarian. altho there are two card combos like acidmaw dreadscale or dragon plus rend blackhand. deathwing is an option too but a pretty bad one.
This appear in almost every control deck, because without this. You will probably never win against another control deck as control ever again, and you are going to need to win against control deck if you want to play control. The thing is though, midrange Druid and Secret Paladin (Another Midrange deck) just have good winrate against Control Decks. So having the increased power against aggro only weakened aggro. Which is still played because it beat secret paladin, although it loses to Druid, putting Face Shaman to tier 2 (Since Druids are too common).
But control decks that include Elise Starseeker are considerably powerful even if this is the case, because of their strength against Aggro and Control (Lower Curve and Better Fatigue Matches). Although it loses to control decks that run ton of Legendary alongside Elise Starseeker, you won't see those fools much. (Unless they climb up just to play Out-of-meta decks).
all of that cards ruined the game they are too good if they was only in the arena that would be ok but now a player who didnt payed real money in the game dont stand a chance
If you have golden cards in your hand or deck before you play this, they will be transformed into golden legendaries. That's why you sometimes see a non-golden Golden Monkey create golden legendaries.
He played golden Mind Vision on turn 1, and stole my Unstable Portal. Later he got golden Elise Starseeker out of it. Which gave him golden map, and later - golden Golden Monkey, which turned all his cards into golden legendaries. Swag. Unable to withstand such majesty, I lost. Well played, indeed, well played.
This wouldn't help you much in a fatigue match, it only gives you two cards and one does nothing lol its really helpful if you have a bunch of cards that you can't use without a combo or are low cost during late game.
I am actually going to disagree with most of the people. I have it in my control priest deck atm. The deck is a control deck with using only voljin and entomb for lategame threats. It handles the early game very well. Against other slower priests and control warriors, however, I tend to be slightly at a disadvantage in the lategame without as many threats as them however, the more the game progresses. I usually get the golden monkey with between 5 and 10 cards left and so when I am going to be overwhelmed I switch my deck to all legendaries and then I am able to win the matchup. The card has served me very well.
Oh yeah and getting lorewalker cho with it is the most amazing thing ever!
One of my favorite cards. I'll see you in wild you crazy monkey!
can you get from it the new quests?

Was playing against Priest.

This is the deck I'm using: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/393351-battlecrydiscover
Again Golden monkey has served me very well!
This card will be good only when it will be "Replace all your minions in hand and deck with legendaries"
Losing all the spells for average 6+ mana cards is a suicide.
