Having Shifter is very different to playing Unstable Portal. It would be like if you played Portal every single turn of the game, and if you decided you didn't like the minion it gave you then you got your two Mana back.
How have you tested this, even though it's unreleased at this point?
I'm not sure I understand your question. I do not have access to Whispers of the Old Gods. This is all purely based on mathematics. That's why it says "on average" everywhere. It's the same as any game, like Poker or Blackjack. On average, you will have X happen every Y turns or games based on the number of cards in a deck etc.
I understand that you have this all based on mathematics. I'm completely aware of probability and statistics, it's a required course in many high schools and colleges (at least mine were).
Your statement however implies something different though: This is my analysis of the reality of playing Shifter Zerus in an actual game of Standard, including Whispers of the Old Gods.
Well...not really. "my analysis of the reality of playing shifter zerus in an actual game of standard" implies you have *actually* played him in a game of standard. Which is impossible.
A better way of wording this would be "This is my mathematical analysis of what would occur if you were to play Shifter Zerus in a game of standard."
The difference being that the first bolded statement you make, *literally* implies a far different scenario, regardless of the methods achieved to get the values.
Thank you for the time and effort you put into your analysis, but your wording does leave something to be desired.
Math. Pure math. The numbers don't lie.
The minion keeps changing face every turn (your turn). So the Challenger may be available at turn 3, and its unusable. But then on turn 6 its not a Challenger any more. It changed its face a few times, and now may its a one mana card or a 10 mana card. So it is often useless. I found it in one of my packs. Tried it in a few decks. Rarely did I found it useful. I already disenchanted it.
This MC obtained on turn 2 would then vanish, so you don't get it at all, actually.
For those of us that don't know, this is a reference from StarCraft 2 HoTS. The planet Zerus where Kerrigan shifts from human into pure zerg. Therefore, Shifter Zerus :) .
Playing Wild mode, have him in opening hand, no coin
Turn 1 - Shielded Minibot
Turn 2 - Imp Gang Boss
Turn 3 - Piloted Shredder
Turn 4 - Sludge Belcher
Turn 5 - Sylvanas Windrunner
Turn 6 - Dr. Boom
Turn 7 - Ragnaros the Firelord
Turn 8 - Ysera
Turn 9 - Varian Wrynn, or maybe Deathwing
Turn 10 - Murloc Raider
Nah, he will be a Wisp on turn 10. Next turn of course he will be a Target Dummy, and after that an Angry Chicken
What if I use Mind Vision and get a shifted minion. Will it count as a Shifter Zerus or a minion that was currently in oponents hand?
Mind vision would copy shifter, but duplicate, gangup, sap...etc...would copy the minion he transforms into. As long as he is in hand he counts as shifter, once he enters play the transform is final.
Can this minion also change into Himself?
"Each turn" so much trolling in this card
ooooor you can just put in a card that's good anyway...
One of the cards which warsong commander was avoiding it's design imagine getting warsong commander+dreadsteed this could be so broken.. Sometimes.
The rng is just too much for this to see play if you ask me, why not include a card that is actually good then you dont need super lucky rng to make good use out of this card
You mean like summoning portal?
