Indeed. Perhaps in Priest as well, but that's about it. :P
Ysera is actually weak to priest, as he can shrink-cabal it, giving him strong win condition against you
Year but how many priests play that useless combo... just for a Ysera in this Meta? 100% no!
All you need is a Shrinkmeister and a Cabal Shadow Priest which can be quite common in priest decks.
Anyone else think about the Naga Sea Witch synergy? HOLY SHIT
I like the synergy with Summoning Stone and the Naga Sea Witch.
Turn 9 evil heckler, then naga sea witch.
Turn 10 Arch-Thief rafaam, then deal 10 random damage. :)
Why are so many people comparing this to Ysera? Ysera is a control card and all of the dream cards except Nightmare have control-oriented effects. This card is clearly meant more as a slow but consistent finisher for midrange decks that rely on having minions on the battlefield. The artifacts are more oriented towards damaging your opponent and are worth it if you've used up most of your hand by turn 9.
Interesting to see how this card wil develop, it surely is very versatile and you can basically react to the current board state with what artifact to choose: are you going to seal the game with Lantern of Power, or do you go for the removal with the Timepiece of Horror, or more control oriented with the Mirror of Doom
Both this and Ysera have their pros and cons. Ysera's cards are random but you can play more cards together with the dream cards in the following turns since they dont cost 10 mana. With Arch-Thief Rafaam on the other hand you can choose which artifact you want , but you end up using a whole turn playing an Artifact after that.
One sidenote though, this card has absolutely no value when you are threatend by lethal. But hey, at least you go down Idiana Jones style with the Artifact:D
All artifacts cost 10 mana, don't know if in most of games there is time to actually waste the turn.
Agreed. All depends on match situation.
it is a very powerful late game card, but will it be better than Ysera? ... this is the decisive question for me, as no deck will run both!
BGH is not a reason in the moment to not play this minion. BGH is not so popular in the moment and silence also. Please guys don't say these reasons very time... -.-'
When you can only choose 3 out of 3 cards, your opponent can see where your mouse was positioned/hovered at, making them knowing what card you picked during picking phase.
Or is the arrangement random each time the effect is triggered ?
I do hope it's random rather than 1st is A, 2nd is B, 3rd is C, all the time.
I'm guessing it will be random, as it would be unfair if your opponent knew what you picked and could play around it. I'm sure Blizzard thought about that.
Remember this card is "discover"
You can choose the tokens yourself
It is not RNG like Ysera
Im tired of people saying that cards are bad because they can be targeted by BGH, as if BGH is some looming card terrorizing the meta right now. It's very hard to justify playing more than one BGH in this meta, and you will be playing this card in a control deck with other legendaries and big cards that can bait BGH anyway . I think this can see play
The benefit of 'baiting BGH' is not as good, if good at all, as people seem to think it is. You're still investing mana into playing a minion and having it efficiently removed 1 for 1, which can often give tempo back to your opponent.
I understand where you're getting at, but you should never play a minion in a deck for the reason of 'baiting BGH', if you play a minion with >= 7 attack, it better be good enough on its own. Whether this card will be good or not, we'll see in due time.
True, getting BGH'ed is a big setback.
But if you have a slow deck with lots of big guys, they can't BGH them all. That is his point.
think of this card as identical to nefarion. Nefarian's just slightly better because of the 1 attack and being a dragon. This card's sick though. Everyone will prolly use the 3 3s one
Arch-Thief Rafaam seems like a bad Onyxia, ok 3/3s are better then 1/1s but dont have to pay 10 mana for it!
In arena it might be play-able in a defensive deck. In constructed, spending 19 mana is suicide against aggro or midrange. Against control you might as well use an 8cost Sneed's Old Shredder and 5x Innervates
