The Tavern Brawl - Duel of the Death Knights
The DKs have all come out to celebrate Days of the Frozen Throne. Choose a class and you'll get a random deck and start out as a Death Knight.
- This is a brand new brawl!
- You'll pick your class and be given a premade deck containing loads of Frozen Throne cards.
- Your hero starts off as the Death Knight of your chosen class.
- Winning the brawl gets you a Classic Pack! What a missed opportunity.
Don't forget who your Death Knights are!
I don't wanna sound aggresive or rude, but, is blizzard stupid? There are just 2, maybe 3 playable decks - jaina, guldan and a bit of rexxar. Otherwise, you have 0 chance. What an unfun experience.
Blizzard announced this event a while ago and yes the 600g is pretty cool and the bundle is a good offer, so I won't complain on that department. However, this brawl?! It's really a missed opportunity. People love the seasonal event brawls where we previously have played a co-op brawl against a certain enemy, or we played as Ragnaros and Nefarian, played against a boss that had different stages and probably a few more I probably can't remember. This brawl though... a early deathknight with a random deck that mostly consists of shitty minions? Come on.
I guess players with a small collection can finally try some of the deathknights they always wanted to play. Too bad the balance is quite off as there's a reason to why deathknights have different costs.
Where are the decklists with 100% KoTF cards?
How can Blizzard not understand that Frostlich Jaina on turn one is pretty much insta win? Water Elementals for days.
Lost to a Garrosh that got X2 DK in the deck. Was still pretty close to killing him but the extra armor was too much.
first try win with warrior against a mage ....he ran out of steam pretty easy ...i made sure to drag the game as long as possible for extra salt
I was really lucky facing Anduin in my second match (naturally lost the first one to Jaina) . I defeated him pretty easily with Rexxar but at the same moment I sweared to myself not to do this brawl only one more time even if hell would freeze over.
I got bad news for you. You have to beat it 5 more times for the 2nd 300 gold quest.
Yes melhor, I know and it kind of hurt but in this case I really don't give a f*ck about the 2nd quest.
I just found a friend and we played paladin against eachother. That meant turn 4/5 lethal every game because of the Hero Power(of course, we wouldn't kill the horsemen). It shouldn't take too long tbh.
Everyone plays with jaina. 10 brawls and i did not face any other DK. Maybe it was not so Bad "the good old days" when Ben brode was still Part of the company.
don't forget who the Death Knights are! Jaina, and another 8 unimportant ones.
Also, the decks contain much more than just KFT cards...
I always concede every time I get to lethal with Frostlich Jaina against a diff class, but they always concede first, lol?
Maybe this brawl is Blizzard's way of testing which DK should be nerfed.
By far the biggest issue with this Tavern Brawl is in the fact that not only are Deathknights not created equally, the disparity in the value of the hero powers is absurd. Jaina comes in as easily one of most powerful, with Gul'dan and Rexxar filling out the pack of playable heroes, but only in so much as they create a very loose triangle. Gul'dan can do very well against Jaina based on how the draws go, with the Hero power being very very strong in its direct sense. Rexxar can generate amazing value, but struggles with potential tempo issues in the early stages.
Warrior and Shaman are clearly almost all but unplayable. Let's be honest, the Battlecry portion of both of these cards is what makes them playable at all. While Paladin, Rogue, Priest and Druid have some potential their powers still fall rather short in terms of the raw tempo or raw value that can be generated by the big 3. These decks being full of random cards rather than preconstructed decks meant to leverage the potential hero powers also makes it even harder for these less impactful classes to have any chance of seeing much play. There are just some major issues that could have easily been solved by making the decks instead of making them random. Allowing you to weaken the stronger DKs with somewhat weaker or at least less synergistic decks. I played about 15 Brawls just to test all the different classes out and I was so horribly disappointed in the balance.
It's even worse, jaina has her battlecry fromthe start of the game, while warrior haas no weapon, druid no minions, and paladin no weapon too...
Playing against Jaina, Jaina, Jaina and then Jaina. Have a good win rate with Guldan against her, but it is boring playing always against the same class.
edit: thanks for this great brawldeck
It almost sounds like you think summoning Howlfiend for free is not a good play...
aha pengouins in Jaina's deck.... and a bunch of weapon buff cards but no weapon for the rogue.. gg blizzu
1 Jaina isn't enough - intelligent RNG
