Quote from DaxxarriMagnetic? How does it work? Join Hearthstone Game Designer Stephen Chang as he talks about and tinkers with Magnetic, a new keyword coming in The Boomsday Project—Hearthstone’s newest expansion!
Marvelously Magnetic
Dr. Boom designed many of the Mechs that can be found in The Boomsday Project with Magnetic capabilities! Mechs with the power of this new keyword can merge with other Mechs as you play them to tackle even the toughest of tasks!
Simply place your Magnetic Mech to the left of any Mech you’ve already got on the board and they’ll fuse ALL their stats and card text together into a bigger, more powerful minion! Need them to stay independent? No problem. Just place your Mech down to the right of an existing Mech (or next to any non-Mech minions), and they’ll stay un-plugged to handle smaller tasks (and avoid getting blown up by powerful single-target effects or removal).
Watch the video and follow along as Stephen explores the power of these Magnetic marvels!
Will you combine your Mechs into gigantic mechanical juggernauts? Or keep them un-plugged to operate autonomously? Test out your designs on August 7 when The Boomsday Project commences!
Nice giant mech there, would be a shame if something were to happen to it...
Mech Hunter in Wild is plenty of fun though.. So I can’t say I am dissappointed!
mech hunter is sick in wild. Ive playing around with mech warlock
Corpsetaker will love Zilliax :)
Indeed. As will Countess Ashmore
What are you talking about? What's your source on this? There's still a lot of cards to be revealed.
Look at 2:02 of the Hearthstone Game Designer Stephen Chang- Hearthside Chat. Magnetic minions CAN be found in these classes and in neutral. That means that the other 6 classes will not receive any class card magnetics. That info is ture... my faulty logic would say that means that at least Grimy Goon classes will have an asymmetrical design compared to the rest of the classes. Looking at what hearthstone has done in the past Mean Streets of Gad. is the only expansion that has an asymmetrical design and so I am guessing that they went alongside the same classes... (which I think is a good call).
How the asymmetrical design will play out? who knows... its all guessing and fun until the big reveal. I enjoy the hearthstone tease.
You're right there is a lot of cards to be revealed and I am going to love every moment of it. I hope you do to.
I don't know how assuming only 3 classes will get projects is at all fair when they're pretty analogous to spellstones, which every single class got. Also, Myra's Unstable Element ISN'T a project. None of the legendary spells are projects. Druid already has a revealed project (Botany Project) and a teased legendary spell (Floop's Glorious Gloop).
You are right, I messed up Myra's Unstable Element ISN'T a project. That is true yet due to the Botany Project being Druid it still fits my scheme however I admit that my hypothesis is a bit shakey because... so far we know about a "weapons project," "research project," "biology project" and the only project that we know about is for a specific class instead of a gang. Perhaps, spellstones are a better fit for projects however why do only grimy goons get magnetics... I am not saying this is not fair (first we haven't seen all the cards nor have I lost faith in Hearthstone to attempt to create asymmetrical fairness which they always fail at and we forgive them).
If I were correct, (which you make a good case that I am wrong), than biology project goes to druid (which we know is correct), weapons project probably goes to rogue and research project goes to shaman (due to process of elimination). I think you are probably correct in comparing it to spellstones which destroys my concept... time will tell.
One thing is certain: There exist an asymmetrical design in this next expansion with a void of cards which I am excited to see how Hearthstone fills it in.
Omega Defender into Zilliax 9 Mana 15/8 Taunt, Divine Shield, Rush, Lifesteal
omega defender isn't a mech, unfortunately.
Hooray for not DEing any GvG cards. Wonder if Foe Reaver will become good, with a rush magnetic card. Always wanted to try that thing
Someone help me out. I have a crazy prediction that is slightly wrong, I am not sure what I am missing: this is round two of Mean Streets of Gadgetzan but some neutrals will also have some of the "gang's" style or mechanics. We see here that the exact same classes of grimy goons are grouped up to be magnetic (no other classes will get magnetic minions except neutrals). Projects will probably end up going to rogue, druid and shaman (Myra's Unstable Element). That leaves mage, priest and warlock with no additional mechanics and no magnetic class cards... This could mean that 6 classes get projects and 3 get magnetic but that does feel right. I know there was a lot of hate for MSoG but I think this expansion will be fun. Also I don't think that mage, priest and warlock would exclusively get omega projects because to give something called "project" to one group and then "omega projects" to another group doesn't feel right either... I am missing something...
Tell me what do you predict is going to result from only the Grimy Goons gang (pally, warrior and hunter) getting magnetic class cards? Do you think I am slightly right, 100% wrong or way too excited about this expansion? (cause I'm hyped)
Is magnetic silencable or it works as zomby-beast? Any clue?
The improved stats show up in green, so that suggests it's an enchantment and not a transform, so it would be silenceable.
But the question about Zombeast raises a good point - when you silence one of them it doesn't lower their combined stats, only removes effects like taunt or lifesteal. So if it worked that way then silence would still be useful, but wouldn't entirely destroy the combo effect.
Looks like I'll have to craft a lot of GVG cards for wild... I started playing month later it rotated out.
At least most relevant GVG mechs are common\rare
Mech Mage might be making a comeback in Wild.
God help us all.
Magnetic is a great mechanic. Board placement will matter again!
"In general, Magnetic mechs have higher health than attack, because we wanted to mitigate the burst potential you could get from them."
I think Void Ripper, already a very playable card, just got an upgrade! As did Crazed Alchemist. Vedddy iiinnntedesting!
