Hunter relied on Minions (Beasts, mostly) so they printed a handful of cards to create Spell Hunter, and it's a fun/powerful deck.
Mage relied on Spells (with a few spell support minions like Mana Wurm, mostly) so they printed a handful of cards to push Minion Mage. I predict that it will be a fun at the very least, perhaps powerful depending on what else Mage gets this set. Stargazer Luna might be a piece of that deck:
Or maybe she fits in Odd Mage, turning your 1 cost spells into free cantrips in the mid to late game? Play Stargazer, then drop a couple of Arcane Missiles or a Mirror Image to protect Luna?
Or just a tool for any Mage deck, really. If you consider Loot Horder, a 2/1 body that draws one card on death for 2 mana - this only needs to draw one card to be on par, and if you draw two or more it's bonkers. Like Arcane Intellect with a 2/4 body. Or better!
that would be very strategic. You are more likely to hold on your important card until the right time to play so as a result it will move slowly to your left hand side. If Bloodreaver Gul'dan is the left most card (which it usually does since it cost 10 and you gotta wait until enough Demon are dead), you cannot play that discard card until you play your Bloodreaver Gul'dan
Disagree, this can be combo'd with cards like Rhonin or Ravencaller for some cheap extra draw plus board.
You're only half right. Of course Rhonin gives you Arcane Missiles and Ravencaller One-Drops but you can only combo one of those with Stargazer Luna's ability. Then you drew a card which now is the most right card in your hand...
Scroll of Wonder cast a spell on the chicken that turned it into a robot. I think that was a teaser for a new spell... probably "Turn a friendly minion into a mech". That would make sense, because it would give a lot more possibilities for the new Magnetic keyword.
Because you are forced to play most right card to gain value, which be the card you don’t want to play right away half of the time... unless you are aggro mage of course.
Not necessarily- at least in Wild. I’ve had some success in the past with a miracle mage, using turn 10 Sorceror’s Apprentice x2 and Gadgetzan Auctioneer. As with any Auctioneer deck, it was primarily a topdeck party. This screams to me as a half-cost Auctioneer, and between this and Aluneth, my miracle mage will take flight again!
Not sure how many cards you can cheat out with this card, you'd have to play her for 3 mana, then play the right most card in your hand (paying its mana cost) and then draw a card that costs no more than the mana you have left and can be played immediatly in order to draw again. So if you say that in general you are gonna draw 1 card from it, it's like a somewhat better gnomish inventor, but in this way it's a late game card.
Scenarios in which i can see her being good are in a tempo heavy deck, so that you just play her turn 3 or 4 and draw a couple cards off from it (might be viable depending on the meta), or maybe you can pull out some combo with it building a deck full of cheap spells and sorc. apprentices, but then you'd have to survive until you draw all the stuff.
Pretty hard to say if it's gonna be good or useless.
This was said about Dr. Boom back in the day. And it still carries on to pretty much every card in every expansion. Stop judging them before you play them, because you're most likely going to be wrong.
This is very true, no one person can predict the exact impact a new card will have on the game. It isn't fair to totally write something off just because a streamer said it was trash or you can't see a viable archetype for it yet.
However, the whole fun of teaser season IS the predictions. It's fun to theory-craft and experiment with new options. It may get taken a little too far sometimes, with entire classes being totally ignored due to perceived trashiness, but honestly that's just the nature of the internet.
Predictions are great imo, so long as an open mind is kept.
It seems a good card but imho it's too early to say if it's a meta-breaker.
Casting spell and drawing cards is damn good, but it's only 2/4, so it's not likely to survive more than 1 turn. I don't see it in a Murloc Mage: you need to play the right-most card so it really depends on what you draw.
Could be good in an OTK or Quest Mage if you find the right combo. Or in a spell-heavy mage with very cheap spells in the deck - or cards like Primordial Glyph that generate spells.
I think we need to wait to see if there are other cards in the expansion to generate synergies.
Oh man, I see a lot of people discussing the new card... but I for one am going to love these shorts!
alternate option of aluneth as it will rotate to wild next year

Archmage Arugal Ravencaller Book of Specters Maybe Pint-Sized Summoner makes the cut? Questing Adventurer could be a great fit... A bunch of 1 drops, perhaps... Keep everything in the deck pretty cheap, so you can fill your hand with book, Archmage, and Luna and flood the board with stuff.

She's going to be a lot of fun to tinker with!
The cards I can see that could be used with stargazer are Questing Adventurer,Curio Collector, and with cheap minions: Archmage Arugal, Dollmaster Dorian
If you could also reduce the costs of those cards being drawn. For example: cheap spells then with Sorcerer's Apprentice and Mana Addict
Can't wait for the Warlock card that reads "Discard the Leftmost card in your hand"
that would be very strategic. You are more likely to hold on your important card until the right time to play so as a result it will move slowly to your left hand side. That's actually genius.
Card draw is major. If u dont recognize that then u should rethink ur playstyle in HS

Also, there's nothing stopping legendaries from being complete garbage - as many are quite bad in most situations.
That said, this one looks pretty nice to me!
Looks like a strong card for aggressive minion-based mages. Not that I like the idea but it seems like Blizzard is forcing it on us.
Murloc mage here I come.

Gonna be insane in a low curve Tempo Mage.
