One thing to keep in mind is that it enables Bonemare for your opponent if they went first. Overall, I think its not a bad card, good card for budget decks, maybe combo priest, can be game changing for arena.
The good news is if you have anything else on the board, or a cheap spell, you can likely remove the 2-cost minion before ending your turn. Majority of the options are 1 or 2 health. Stubborn Gastropod might be the worst option if you don't have a spell to remove. Playing this on curve you really don't have that option either. Unless you have double Moonfire... I guess Backstab works too.
The only way this sees any kind of play is if Priest has a Potion of Madness handy. And even then, it's not worth risking accidentally pulling out a Millhouse Manastorm.
there are enough 3/2s too, and even Succubus
this is waaaaaaay better than Hungry Dragon which is the most obvious comparison. Im honestly really scared about this card, because on average, you're just going to summon a 2 2 or 2 3 and it's not a big deal at all, but you get this giant taunt early. We already have enough really strong late game taunts, not to mention that this will be GREAT for evolve + doppelgangster which is already the most oppressive shaman combination in the game(oppressive to other shaman decks, not necessarily to ladder in a whole). So yeah, we don't need more big taunts and buffs to doppelgangster...
Evolve doppelgangster buff
Im sure a recruit based deck will love this
For a 6-drop, if would have a total 13 stats, if it was a vanilla. But since it has Taunt too, on top of having 14 stats total, explains the "negative" battlecry. There are definitely a lot of positives to cover the cons. One being the 4 attack, which is ideal against Priest's Shadow Words, accompanied by high health, very reminiscent of cards like Malygos, Ysera, Twilight Drake, let's throw Klaxxi Amber-Weaver into the example pool as well. While chances are low, there will be times when the opponent gets Doomsayer or Stubborn Gastropod off Hungry Ettin (among others), which can be devastating if Hungry Ettin was the drop on turn 6. Overall, it will be more often yield a positive result.
Sometimes, that card is really bad.
Compared to Boulderfist Ogre; 13 stats vs. 15 stats (+1 for Taunt), and in exchange you give your opponent an average of 5 stats and initiative to attack it. I feel like this is a bad card, even though it looks good skin-deep.
For a druid with Hadronox
Worth running against any of the current Prince Keleseth decks.
Bodies good, and 2-cost minions are easy to deal with. as six mana, you could easily play this then clear some minions with the remaining four (lightnig storm, Consecration, etc). Everyones saying doomsayer also, but if you're playing a 4/10 taunt minion, I assume you want control or to slow them down, thus in certain situations it's actually great. 6 mana Twisting Nether
Well 4 mana board clear will not always work, there are two chances to get 2/6 taunt as a result from this...
Whats the worst thing that can happen? Here it comes!!, ..come on, make my day. ... (insert gastropod scream here)....
And one funny, Jade Serpent guides you
evolve 5 mana minions intensifies
Ooooh! Seeing as there's not many 2 cost minions being played this is preeeeetty good!
Well this doesn't just draw from 2-mana minions in your opponent's deck. It's a random 2-cost minion. So ANY 2-cost in Standard, or any 2-cost period if playing wild. Two possibilities in Standard are 2/6 with Taunt. Dirty Rat and Cornered Sentry. These would be two great options for your opponent to get, because they come without the downside of pulling Deathwing into battle, or giving you 3 1/1 raptors.
Also, imagine playing Jade Druid and giving them a Jade Swarmer. Not fun!
buff to Evolve+ dopplegangster andMoonglade Portal
Recruit warrior anyone?
