This is no joke. Token/evolve shaman receiving yet another buff, even though they're already tier one. One might even argue that this card isn't very good, but it might be at the very least a huge tempo swing on the turn it is played in an already very aggressive class. Seems like the meta won't slow down after all, and the previously revealed hero cards seem even slower and lackluster.
Evolve won't be around for much longer, given that WotOG should be rotating to Wild next year. "Should" being the operative word.
going to be good with jade shaman. Doppelganger is just too slow for this to combo with
LUL
Whispers of the Old Gods is rotating into Wild next year, right? That means Evolve and Master of Evolution are on their way out the door. Kind of a bummer to create an Evolve-related Heroic power only to lose the Evolve-related cards soon after. Personally, I was hoping/expecting DK Thrall to be Freeze related; after all, Freeze Shaman seems to be what they're selling in KFT.
Still, I think the card is really cool so hopefully it won't suck too much :/
This deathknight is all about the battlecry. If you get board cleared after you evolve, you are left with a hero power that is slightly better than what you started with most of the time. Still the card is only 5 mana.
I don't like this card's concept, honestly. It's so normal and seem blizzard has no different ideas
Well, last time I played Arena I got completely owned by Evolve 2 games in a row, so great to know I'll continue to be RNGed into the dirt...
- 1 Bloodlust + 1 Thrall, Deathseer
Now this is a card that should see play, not the forced freeze cards that were shoved into shaman to avoid a stronger freeze mage.
Gain 5 armor (1 mana), double cast Evolve (2 mana), change hero power (2 mana) - and all in one card!
I think the full glory of Evolve was because it's 1 mana. Getting the turn 6 Doppelgangster wombo is insane, but this costs 5 mana for basically an Evolve, that you can keep evolving.
Sure you can play doppelgangster, but that's a 10 mana power play, which isn't as impactful as using 6 mana to achieve the same thing. If you are then arguing saying "BUT ITS 7 MANA INSTEAD OF 6", well to break it to you, those cards be feel very similar to the 6 mana cards. (Later mana costs become less about stats, and more about powerful effects, as we have learned through Free From Amber
The hero power is super strong, especially you can do stuff like tempo evolve like how priests use their hero power. You trade your minion (with it living) and then evolve it for a basically fully healed minion.
The only downside of this card is that you can't summon your totems anymore. It sounds obvious, but that can be a real problem. If you are in top deck mode, you can't just play a totem and evolve it if you happen to draw a spell or a weapon. Also the RNG of totems are reallllllllly strong. I'm not sure about statistics, but for smaller minions, I think its a higher likelihood to get the spell power totem than to evolve a minion onto spell power, same thing with aunt.
TL:DR: Super greedy, potential, but too greedy and board dependent.
This seems absolutely busted as it basically turns the hero power into "full heal a minion". Shaman already have decent tools to protect minions and the cards we've seen so far further improves this. I think this could easily turn into a very consistent and powerful snowball effect similar to pre-nerf quest rogue where your opponent just can't recover. But at the very least you'll have to draw this card first so there's that =)
yes... u need to destroy shaman beore he play this. just like rogue.
So much fun
Totally agree. The biggest benefit provided by Evolve is that you can transform low quality minions with high cost. This usually requires you play them within one turn so that the minions would not be killed during your opponent's turn. It's hard to do with the shaman hero card.
Kamehameha.
They said all Death Knight heroes would fit somewhere in Frost, Unholy or Blood.
So Rexxar is an unholy DK, Jaina a frost DK. And Thrall? The hero power icon is blueish so I guess frost aswell? Although his hero power or battle cry effect has nothing to do with any of the three categories.
This is an Unholy power. UH DK's can raise and empower the dead.
Didn't they mean that about the class not the death knight legendary. If so Thrall is definitely frost.
