posted a message on So BGH is "unhealthy"

I love how everyone is saying that Handlock will be a problem.

Handlock is not in a good place right now and not because of BGH. And even when it was in a good place people were not running two BGHs. To hear (read) some people on the forums, it's as if everyone runs BGH for fear of Handlock's giants, which is simply not true.

Also, those stating that BGH is the perfect counter to Dr. Boom are way off for me, as Dr. Boom's strength is in it's battlecry (the two boom bots added to the body) and BGH does nothing against that.

What BGH does is prevent us from playing Gruul for instance (and heck I would love to playGruul). Or Nefarian, or Deathwing, or Prophet Velen or you name it. How many times have you heard someone say "this card would be so cool if it just didn't have 7 attack"?

BGH nerf is a good thing. And no, Handlock will not be a problem.

    Quote from Machinae >>

I can tell you're really going out of your way to show how wrong they are. Do you mind at least voicing your opinions on why it is good?

It is good because it gives old players new options and doesn't force new players to buy old "content" to be competitive. I read "no one is going to be playing Wild" or "no one is going to be playing Standard" all over; Magic the Gathering has had formats for ages and it's still the most played CCG out there. They still do T1 (the equivalent of HS's Wild iirc) tournaments after 30 years or however much it is.
    Quote from PsyyKik >>

This is a VIRTUAL CCG, they could balance the game easy as *&$%, they just won't cause they're worried it will cost them future packs sales. The truth is a better balanced game retains and attracts more players and is healthier for their bank balance in the long run.

Are you serious? If anything, the addition of Standard format will cause less pack sales, since the old expansions/adventures won't be for sales anymore.
And Hearthstone is a pretty balance game anyway (sure, debatable, but that's opinions); you probably would like a game with less RNG, while the debs want a game with substantial RNG. That's your problem, not the game's.

...pretty much every single CCG has formats, so yeah.

    Quote from Wibles >>

I play him in a Reno Jackson Warrior deck which is extremely fun and Varian Wrynn is a good addition as I play with no more than 1 card of any sort. Definitely don't dust this card, it has won games for me many times drawing 3 cards, putting Grommash Hellscream straight into the battlefield - and if you've got a Death's Bite with 1 durability, you've often got a winning play.

    My recommendation: build a RenoWarrior...

Honestly, Variann in a Reno Warrior doesn't sound all that good. What if it plays Reno when you need it (or don't)?

posted a message on 3-Drops in control warrior

    Hey all,

I have been taking my Control Warrior out of the closet for this season, as I think it's still very powerful in this meta. Below is the list I have been using.

It's all nice and fun, but I noticed Acolyte of Pain makes me lose more games than not (meaning I go to fatigue against other control decks too early). Since I realised this deck strategy should lean more outlasting the opponent than anything else - yes, I'm not the sharpest of players.

I have tried Fierce Monkey but I found it not to be enough of an annoyance to aggro decks; another option would be Deathlord I suppose, but then it would be a liability against control decks.

So I'm wondering, what do you guys use as 3-drops?

Hah, I've been in the same boat since I started, except I can never get past rank 5 on EU servers. I agree that coaching is a waste of money though.

posted a message on FOUR PALADIN LEGENDARY

So Maraad equalises health to the average of both players' health? (example, if player A has 20 and player B has 30 they both get to 25HP)

Yrel's mechanic is a bit too confusing for Blizzard's standards imho.

Arator's wording is a bit off, you might want to change "be destroyed" in "get destroyed". The only card I like btw. :)

Surely Blizzard must buff Reno Jackson to declare whether he will activate? Otherwise it is inconsistent with other Battlecries and will dramatically increase the usage of deck trackers, which seems undesirable to me.

He will almost certainly have an orange glow when active. Blizzard would never force a player to keep track of their whole deck, ESPECIALLY a new player.
They said they won't do that and that's a shame.. It'sreally lazy of them.. Just add a little mark or something.. It's a big condition.
They actually said it's too had to make it work like the other glowing cards but they're looking for a way. It's a coding issue.

Oil Rogue is so bad that both Blizzcon finalist had it in their lineup...

Oh! It's this excuse again, how difficult is it for people to understand that the tournament meta is very different to the ranked meta? ...and that a sample size of one is invalid?
In the top16 of the world there were all classes represented! Does that mean that all classes are equally powerful? Pingpingho went to the top8 with shaman? What is that supposed to mean? That shaman is just fine? The blizzcon finalists (the ones that you're refering to) even voted for the power level of decks in the latest liquid hearth power-rankings and rogue was deemed second worse. :/
And what makes Rogue so much better in tournaments that both finalists chose it over Tier 1 ladder decks?
The format of the competition. Some players choose to bring specific decks to target other specific decks.

Thanks everyone for your input. So far my modifications have been:

    - 2x Blackwing Technician - 1x Vol'jin - 1x Chromaggus

    + 1x Shadow Word: Death + 1x Dr. Boom + 1x Dragonkin Sorcerer + 1x Harrison Jones

I haven't been playing much lately, but since I made those changes I went 15-4, all the way up to Rank 9. ☺️ Results below, note how Druid, Paladin and even Warrior matchups got better.

I don't know, Chillmaw is one of those few cards who can actually get you back in the game when you're behind. I like her a lot.
