Shaman being my main class - this is a terrible decision. Switch Fire Guard for Shredder -- I think this will actually remove the 1 defender of argus. Fire elemental gives you too much tempo due to the 3 dmg you do to kill a 1-3 mana minion. Destroyer certainly has a lot of tempo as a result of 6 health - it can withstand an attack from probably all 4 mana and below minions. However, it is no replacement, but definitely a staple in shaman decks from now on.
Considering its working as intended - blizzard should fix this - thats an instant loss situation which seems to be imposed due to lazy developers with coding.
For the record there was nothing unordinary to occur except for the -1 to repeat itself taking me from 22 to -3 health in 1 turn from 1 attack of the mistress of pain on a sylvanas while i had a soulpriest. Therefore, I'd need some video evidence... =(
For BMers, trolls, rank 5 and below: no screen shot on this - 1) was on iPhone, 2) It wouldn't show much
To begin, I was playing Mage vs a Priest. It was early into the game (5 mana). The Priest had 30 health and I had 27. The Priest, with only sylvanas on board, played a Soulpriest, which activated my mirror entity. At this point, I have a piloted shredder, and soulpriest on board. He has a soulpriest. Priest next turn, kills my shredder with sylvanas, TRIGGERING ME TO HAVE MISTRESS OF PAIN and then face with soulpriest, and heals me for 2 dmg, now Im down to 22 health. My next turn, I attack sylvanas with mistress of pain, I do have soulpriest, so i should take 1 damage.
So at 22 health, i take 1 damage. I see -1 over my hero face, BUT it keeps triggering the -1 and the activation on the mistress keeps going as well with this. After i took 3 damage from this the Priest said well played. AND the -1 kept going until i was at -3 health for me to lose.
Therefore, I dont know if this was a hacker, knowing this would happen, or some strange glitch.
I was playing a shaman and he dropped a Bloodmage Thalnos. Next turn he used Reincarnate on the bloodmage. He killed it and then it respawned TWO!!!. Has anyone else had this problem??
P.S. no trolls, thanks... This was turn 3. He had three mana, no coin (I had coin). He used only ONE reincarnate on one bloodmage - that was all he did on his turn.
I don't believe Lava Shock will have a significant impact on the overload mechanics, simply because it is only 2 cards in 30. For Lava Shock to work, you need to: a) draw the Overload spell; b) draw Lava Shock; and c) cast them in the correct order. So you have some choices here: either you Overload you deck with Overload spells, and play with a really clunky deck; or you play very few Overload cards, and Lava Shock doesn't work as much as you want; or you play a mix of Overload and non-overload cards, and hope that RNG favors you and you have a god-like turn. This seems a really narrow situation to me, and is not something I will rely on. If they decided to rework the Overload mechanics not by changing how it functions but by adding more and more "Underload" cards then sure, we can explore the possibility. For now, I don't see Lava Shock as a game changing card.
In my opinion you described the card and decks it works perfectly. Only thing that I disagree is that I see the mix deck working with lava shock quite well. Ie.
In my opinion you don't need "godlike" turn to make lava shock viable in a deck like that. lava shock can just be used as tempo boost with the overload cards of the deck(T6 fireguard +lava into T7 boom, T5 Feral + lava into T6 elemental etc.). (Of course the dream of neptulon + storm and next turn feral + lava shock + 5 mana left would be quite nice ^^).
As you said the card is not a game changer, atleast right now. But it can still be viable options in specific decks that use overload cards and it will only get better as the game progresses(?) and we get more overload cards to get synergy with the card.
Unfortunately this is quite wrong. The shaman meta has shifted away from a heavily overload based deck. This is as a result of faster game tempos - shaman must keep up!. To consult this problem, lava shock will now be available. Now, if you are expecting your going to build an ALL based overload deck - jokes on you buddy. Lava shock will open up more interesting plays with nep, earth elemental, and i expect to see a lot of dunemaul.
Now, your "draw" order statement is totally incorrect because it removes ALL overloaded mana crystals, meaning, during that turn AND the next turn. Not to mention, MANY decks run zombie chow, with the intention of obtaining it off a mulligan.
Ultimately, in intelligent based Hearthstone play, you will see Lava Shock become a staple in virtually ALL decks. With the the new minion shaman gets, as well as, dunemaul, earth elemental, and neptulon, shaman as more than enough reasons to use this card.
Well one of the better things about HS being computer based is that you can nerf/buff charges, and add random strings. Something which will never exist in actual TCG play. Though, I wouldnt think wed be far off from implementing format cards -- ex. buff starving buzzard to where it was prior to nerf, but limit to one per deck.
My point being, I will not be surprised if each class eventually has a deck that can result in drawing all game and saving specific cards to lay down a 2 turn kill late game. Emp Tas will certainly influence this.
If they are inconsistent they are not a problem because one winstreak doesn't matter at all. If they have a bad win rate, they will die out. Sure it's annoying to lose but you could just as well lose against a consistent deck.
A deck that is considered widely as autopilot (at least on low ranks) is facehunter. Is that cheesy? Face hunter is incredible consistent, getting a 55%+ win rate against pretty much everything because hunter. Is it cheese if your game plan is hitting face?
Freeze mage can surely be cheesy but hardly gimmicky since it's consistent but it's not auto pilot but one of the harder decks to play.
Hobgoblin and Murlocs are classic cheesy decks in the sense that they are gimmicky but hardly autopilot.
So either you complain about cheese and gimmick or about autopilot decks. Make your mind up mate.
Cheese usually results in autopiloting -- look at face hunter lol
At the conclusion of a season, all players are reset but receive bonus stars based upon last season's achieved rank. Now, as we ascend back up the ladder, one must deal with the vast population of lower level players. While a lot of these players remain low because of widely inconsistent "cheese" decks, it's always disappointing to lose win streaks when these decks result in lucky mulligans and draws.
Bloodlust Shaman: well i run a control shaman, but i do run Bloodlust cause it typically results in OTK. and i just did 40 damage in one turn to a warrior!!!
Just getting worried that Hearthstone may move into Yu-gi-oh territory with massive amounts of autopilot decks.

Pretty OP, but I have only seen it used once other than me using it. It is a bit steep at 5 mana for a lot of zoo locks

Anyone experiencing any cards coming back into the meta with extreme synergistic value?
As a main shaman/mage player I see more of
Mana Tide Totem: always thought this was value since at end of turn you get draw, as well as, board presence. Finally enjoy see some pros use it.
Duplicate: thought of posting this to the board once my duplicate triggered at the death of my Dr. Boom! FTW!!!
Mirror Entity: Pretty funny when you summon a free sludge belcher or sylvanas windrunner
Ragnaros the Firelord: just see him coming back into the mix recently.

Nah, makes it boring. Some of the games get dragged out so long too. I like it when the match can be well rounded for both parties.

Their netdecks, the ones I've posted I have remembered what they are since I've played against them multiple times... =(

I have, its too easy, and I found it very boring because of this, and the fatigue style of play. ZZZzzz

What I've experienced this season:
Mill Rogue: using Gang Up on Coldlight Oracle.
Freeze Mage: Resulted in Alexstrazia to Frostbolt, Ice Lance, Ice Lance, Fireball.
??? Shaman: Crap deck with finisher of Magylos, Crackle, Crackle, Lava Burst.
Druid: Ramp to OTK with Savage Roar with Force of Nature, but always classically OP.
Bloodlust Shaman: well i run a control shaman, but i do run Bloodlust cause it typically results in OTK. and i just did 40 damage in one turn to a warrior!!!
