I also don't have Zilliax so I'm currently replacing him with a 2nd Despicable Dreadlord to help against Aggro. I could imagine that a 2nd Demonic Project could be worthwhile if you are facing alot of control decks. You could also run weapon removal (such as Gluttonous Ooze) as the deck doesn't have this.
I've been playing a fair bit of Quest Warrior on Rank 5+ and run The Lich King in my deck. I've noticed my list to be slightly different to many of the popular versions and was a tad surprised to see a fair few not running him when I had a look online. I've been wanting to run a second Cornered Sentry to help against Taunt Druid but feel I would rather swap a Saronite Chain Gang than The Lich King. Is it perhaps that the 8 mana body is too slow? I personally feel that the value is there - you get a Death Knight card immediately and prompt removal right away from your opponent. In any case, I'm quite curious to hear some opinions about this so please feel free to share yours.
Thanks for the reply, I definitely think Genn Greymane is worth the craft for his future versatility. You've got a good point in the match-up coverage too, I'll look to build decks to make a line-up that compliments one another.
The title doesn't lie, the deck does provide an easy win. Would be interested in a more expensive list that runs stuff like Doomsayer and Furbolg Mossbinder, just as an idea for OP to add to the description. Regardless, you have my upvote.
I'm sitting on 6k dust right now and am wondering what legendaries/decks I should craft (if I should be crafting at all with this post-nerf dust.)
It is worth noting that I'm more looking at these decks for tournaments (Conquest format with a ban) rather than ladder as I can climb well with what I have now.
The decks I am considering with the cards that I am missing:
My initial thoughts is that Genn Greymane is a safe craft as I can immediately make Even Warlock and possibly Even Shaman.
When it comes to Druid it is a case of 1600 dust - either in 2x Branching Paths & 2x Wispering Woods for Token Druid or Hadronox. Either of these decks would give me Druid as a class to pick.
Spell Hunter seems good right now and would give me another class to pick but it requires 2 Legendaries.
I'm not keen on Freeze Mage since I find Big Spell Mage to perform better but Archmage Antonidas is a classic so there's potentially always room for him and similarly Hagatha the Witch also seems to go into alot of Shaman decks however I don't have much of the other Shaman legendaries to make these meta decks.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your time.
You can do 48 damage in one turn with woecleaver -> grommash -> inner rage -> 2x sudden genesis. This deck is much better with a dead man's hand and bring it on though.
That would indeed be viable, except that this deck does not run Woecleaver.
Happy Birthday and a hearty congratulations to the team running this website, you are doing an excellent job.
For me, some of my favorite memories of this site are the reveal periods (a.k.a. spoiler season) because everyone is hyped and has such wild &crazy theories/predictions for cards. I feel it really brings the community together, even those that don't visit the site on a regular basis. Everyone just shares in the hype and makes things really fun overall.
While ''free' dust is quite cool, I'm more excited for the resultant meta-shakeup that will accompany these nerfs. While everything is up in the air and various pro players try to decide if these nerfs really killed off some decks, I'll be happy to see some unique home-brews while on ladder.
That is, in the ideal world - seems like the meta shapes itself quicker and quicker these days.
Tempo Mage is a bad match up for the deck, I recommend you going for your early game. The best card against early game vs mages are the beetles, and gnomeferatus. Though the beetles are better for their deathrattle. Lackey is a keep as well. If your hand is perfect (2 beetles, for example), consider keeping Ooze to kill Aluneth. You can also keep Lackey + Pact if you're going second and have coin, and have a beetle in hand. Beetle + Stonehill + Lackey + Pact would be a really nice hand if you're going second.
Basically, what to keep depends on what you already start with, and if you're going second or not. I will be making a more in-depth guide to this deck.
Thanks for the reply, will be eagerly awaiting that guide.
In short, I'd say start off with decks where the win conditions and general playstyle/decision making are quite simple & straightforward, (e.g Midrange type decks or Aggro). In coaching, I would go with the basics and focus on fundamentals (e.g. what are good trades) before dealing with more complex stuff (e.g. What is tempo and how to gain/maintain it). In doing so, you'll probably end up improving your own playstyle as if you can explain it, you better understand it.
I'd also like to give you props for getting her interested, couples who game together are awesome. :D
Formatting decided it doesn't like what I'm doing so I'm leaving this in the messy state it is as the more I mess with it, the worse it gets.

Bumping this thread as this has recently happened to me. The ol' reliable uninstall and reinstall doesn't work & not quite sure what to do about it.

Most run Primordial Drake but I take your point.

Glad to see this being officially back, been missing the discussion.
Started off at Rank 6 and quickly climbed to Rank 4 with Quest Warrior that is teched against Taunt Druid.

Nice necro by the way.

Quite enjoying this deck, though I'd like some advice on the Tempo Mage match-up - mulligan for early game & heals and hope they draw badly?

Waiting while my opponent plays his Idols...
Really thought it might be one of the new brawls that they put in beforehand, to keep the interest until the Monster Hunt.

I would recommend working through the few articles listed Link Removed: https://hearthstoneplayers.com/welcome-new-players/Link Removed: https://hearthstoneplayers.com/welcome-new-players/as well as looking at some Youtube videos (such as this here).
