What a disappointing and utterly disrespectful move to flat out remove this game mode. I know it wasn't the most popular choice for players but it was such a break from the norm with so many different ways to play and experience the game. Why does Mercenaries, arguably an even more horrendous flop, get to continue to soak up memory but Duels was removed?
It just feels like a slap in the face to even a part of the loyal player base. I knew this was coming, but in addition to quest requirements being upped by 300% and experience only being doubled, it just seems like they couldn't care less about the player experience, regardless of demographic size. Is the bottom line of profit from this game really suffering that much? Hell, 90% of the assets in Duels were recycled from other parts of the game.
With that out of the way, what do you think? Will you miss Duels? Was their decision to discontinue the game mode just?
Does anyone have a speculative reason bots are running so rampant in Wild right now compared to the entire history of the game so far? I've never seen this many bots before
These last 5 days have been the most fun I've had playing Hearthstone in so much longer than I can remember. I'm not just playing to rank up or to complete my daily/weekly quests. I also love having things to look forward to.
Spell Hunter? Can't wait to play it when its Kobolds day. Wall Priest? Looking forward to Rastakhan's Rumble day. Every time I look at the expansion list I see decks that I'm excited to viably play again for a day. I really wish there was a way to make this type of mode permanent. What do you guys think?
Cubelock is only good vs a slow control/heavy board oriented meta. I don't think these cards will help that archetype significantly enough to shake anything up.
Decks like Dragon Druid and Quest Mage laugh at Cubelock
I could be wrong but I feel like Sing-Along Buddy causes some problems in Wild.
Half the Hero Powers necessary to kill for Shadowreaper Anduin, Uther of the Ebon Blade, and a 2x boosted Groovy Cat Druid. This card also sees play in Even Shaman/Warrior + any Even Hunters still wandering around.
I don't necessarily have an issue with the effect of the card, but I think it would've been a 4-mana Epic as little as a few years ago.
Haven't seen anyone talk about this so I'm not sure when this may have happened. To celebrate the new expansion, I decided to play a bit of Wild using my Whizbang the Wonderful. Up until now, Whizbang would assign you a random deck consisting of any of the random prebuilt decks you see in Standard while deckbuilding.
However, today I noticed it gave me a Priest deck with Awaken the Makers. At first I thought they changed the deck pool to old Wild decks, but after my second game giving me Spell Hunter I realized the pool must be from when The Boomsday Project was released.
He was definitely one of my go to streamers when he started, to the point I even subbed on Twitch, but when he came back he started preaching Andrew Tate amongst other controversial buzz topics so I didn't stick around.
Rarran does everything Solem was trying to do but better imo

Arcane Missiles, Cinderstorm, Eye of C'Thun, Mask of C'Thun, and Sunset Volley equal about 35 damage total

TLDR; Whizbang the Wonderful deckpool changed from Standard decks to Boomsday decks.
