Why does it seem like every time they touch Duels, they are making the mode less and less powerful? I thought the idea of Duels was to be a dungeon type gamemode with fun and powerful cards you wouldn't be able to use anywhere else. It just doesn't make sense to me why they are always making cards and effects as boring as Standard.
My main gripe with this list is that Prince Taldaram does see some play in combo decks as a cheaper alternative to Faceless Manipulator. I'd argue that Prince Valanar is the least playable out of the 3 Princes.
I know this isn't directly related to your main point of this thread, but the Metamorphosis change really makes me wish that Genn Greymane would just have a text change to "If your deck has only even-Cost cards, your starting Hero Power costs (1) less."
Have they given a solid reason for why they haven't done this yet? It doesn't seem too fair that Demon Hunter is the only class in the game that doesn't get to utilize Genn Greymane.
I think the idea of constantly having that many cards banned from Wild kind of defeats the purpose of the game mode. Bans should be used sparingly against cards that break the game mode and create unfun/uninteractive gameplay. It sounds like you want an entirely different experience than what has been offered since Wild was introduced.
I think this idea would be a lot more acceptable if this was introduced in Standard and Wild but as separate game modes. Ranked, Ranked Rotation or something, and Casual. At that point though, there may be too many options and it may become a little too convoluted.
On a sidenote, I really would like a 3rd game mode where it consists of the Core Set and 3-4 random sets. We had a tavern brawl a few years ago that basically tested this, but we haven't seen anything like it since. That would definitely be a breath of fresh air in my opinion.
For those of you who have been around for both the launch of Demon Hunter and Death Knight, which class do you believe was executed better?
From a gameplay standpoint, I believe without a doubt that Death Knight did it better. There is so much variety from the class, and I find it a lot more fun to play. As a wild player, I can also really appreciate how Death Knight can actually utilize Genn Greymane (unlike DH). I haven't played much standard ladder since the launch of this class, however, so I'm not sure how much more balanced it is than DH was upon release.
Additionally, I believe the class identity is a lot more present than Demon Hunter's was. Corpses are a more sound mechanic than Outcast in my opinion.
What is the general consensus on this so far? I know it's only been a few days, but that's more than enough time for opinions to form.
Duels nerfs are a little over the top imo. I feel like the point of that mode is to experience powerful synergies that wouldn't be possible in constructed and these nerfs make some cards feel like pack filler

Flavor Text: "And you thought we were putting Wildheart Guff in Core. We'd never do that! WINK WINK."
What did they mean by this 🤔

Nice buff to Even Unholy DK with the Construct Quarter change.

I'm still waiting for Tavern Pass Level 100 and Tavern Regular Achievement Death Knight skins. What are they waiting for?

I know they want people playing Mercenaries, but this is absurd
