Decent Shaman early game, probably not worth it in general though.

Given that it doesn't say random, will it not summon duplicate totems? If so, Windshear Stormcaller says hello.

posted a message on how old are you?

I'm surprised to see such a wide range of ages represented, though I also would have expected many more young players... @Protkenny is absolutely right, this thread is not representative of the Hearthstone player base, or even of hearthpwn. I wonder if we can find official stats somewhere?

EDIT: I guess I'll answer the question. I'm eighteen, and have been playing since Blackrock.

I like Un'goro, but I will NOT be sad at all about saying goodbye to Quest Rogue. Same with Knights; as a dirty Midrange player, I like cards that generate multiple, decently statted minions, so I will be sad to see Chain Gang go. It can't go on for much longer, boys... However, saying goodbye to some of the DKs (Mage, Warlock) will be a good thing. Sad to lose Hunter and, actually, Rogue DKs; I had some fun with both.

Kobolds can die in a fire.

My sentiments exactly. Un'goro has absolutely been my favorite expansion to date, and while I liked many of the cards from KoFT, I'm happy to have the infinite value generators gone. Kobolds I liked about as much as MSoG, that is to say not at all.

Mark my words, this will be almost exactly what Blizzard prints for the Rogue Legendary.

Very weak theme this week. There wasn't many ways you could do a meaningful card in this theme without feeling artificial (i.e. without having an effect that could target any card in hand rather than the left-most or right-most).

Yeah, I feel like the mechanical design space was pretty restricted this week, which means theme has to be working double time. I could only come up with three theme-mechanic pairings that made sense to me:

Your left-most card is something which you've held on to for a while, so "Patient _____" would give the card a good story. Your right-most card has to be played without any sort of set up, so "Impulsive _____" also makes sense. In the end, though, I thought adjacent cards made for the most fun story, because it implies Goldfinger is selling off anything that he can physically get his hands on.

Klat Sparkwrench also utilizes the mechanics in a flavorful way (and one that I'd not thought of), so that one gets my vote for sure.

I feel Goldfinger is kind of a poor design. With Auctioneer, you can draw your entire deck while turning some useless, more expensive cards into more mana to cast whatever you'd rather not turn into a coin and win the game.

Voted for Lathy, Turkeybag and Cogito.

I understand your concern, but I think these combos are harder to pull off than you might think: by turn 6, you'll already have drawn about 10 cards. To pull off a classic Malygos OTK, you'd need to play 9 coins plus a Malygos (10 cards), plus two coins and two Sinister Strikes (4 cards), and four coins and two Eviscerates (6 cards), which would get you exactly into fatigue.

The problem arises because of the hand-positioning restriction. For instance, what happens if your Malygos is an extra five cards down? You'd need to burn five extra coins, which means you'd no longer have enough mana for those Eviscerates. Or if your Malygos is towards the top of the deck, you'll get to a situation where you have [Goldfinger, Coin, Malygos, ...] in hand, and you won't be able to play enough coins to play Malygos, without first turning Malygos into a coin.

So yes, it's possible. But the hand-positioning aspect of the card- in addition to providing strategic depth- prevents any sort of consistent OTK.

On the one hand, I think having more numerous subtler nerfs would go a long way for balancing the game in general.

On the other hand, having larger nerfs is more likely to make a significant impact on the meta, which can help keep things fresh if they're applied properly. Plus, Blizz has to provide a dust refund no matter how slightly they nerf the card, so they're incentivized to nerf as few cards as possible, which means heavier nerfs on those few cards.

Yeah, talk about a slow page... It's been 4 days, and there are a grand total of 9 votes cast on page 2. I know the weeks without announcements are usually slow, but I don't think I've ever seen it this slow.

This seems to be a slow week... 3 days in and there are only 30 submissions.

@Fortify: this is better, but now I have a different concern. With a bit of planning, this can be a 4 mana Prophet Velen, which opens up a lot of OTK space (and since it's a spell, the cost would be reduced by Radiant Elemental). Alternatively, in Big Priest, these act as Barnes #2 and #3, and if you recall, Big Priest has something like a 60% win rate if they drop Barnes on 4... Increasing the mana cost to 5 or even 6 (and scaling the effect alongside) would do a lot to address these problems, both by making the OTK harder to pull off, and by delaying when Big Priest gets to start resurrecting.

Say... Ye' want an Arcane Golem on the cheap? How 'bout a Poisoned Blade ? Or perhaps I could interest you in the legendary Dragon Soul ? It's all cheap-cheap-cheap!

...eh? Where'd I get it? Don't be askin' questions ye' don't want the answers to. Grumf, dearie, please show our guest the door.

Ever had a hand full of cards and no way to play 'em? Want to auction off some of that value for cold, hard tempo? Maybe you've got an eye on that extra special combo, but you just don't have the cash on hand. Whatever it may be, if you're lookin' for some good coin-flippin' fun, just remember, Goldfinger & Co. is ready to help.

    Here's what I have:

Abrupt Decay and Miracle Cure are different takes on the same idea. They're better the turn you get them but not so great after, so you need to consider whether the Cost reduction is worth the (probably) worse timing. Nightmare Lord is an attempt to get out of the left/right-most box. He gives some control over what's discarded, but you need to keep a small hand if you don't want to discard a ton of cards.

Hold up! Abrupt Decay is straight powercreep on Assassinate. And considering they're both class cards, that's really not ideal. That said, bumping the cost (and maybe the discount) by 1 fixes that problem nicely. Also, while the flavor is currently fine, I think there's more of a story to tell...

Miracle Cure: it's certainly weak when played at full cost, but the cost reduction has several potential applications. With Auchenai Soulpriest, you could probably make a OTK so long as you play the cards in the right order. It allows Priests to have early stabilizing turns against aggro, and it also provides some synergy with Shadow Visions. Plus the flavor is on point. It's not the most flashy card, but I'd vote for it as is.

Nightmare Lord: committing to the meme, I see. That said, it might be a little too powerful, since it can either be used as a seriously overstatted minion with a small downside if you've got an aggro opening, or it could be used to finish your quest if it's going slowly. What's more, you have (limited) control over what cards you're discarding, and you're unlikely to discard high-cost cards since they tend to congregate on the left side of your hand.
