I'm happy that I can be part of a community that helps mentally challenged to have fun. It is great to see them playing tier 1 decks in casual, such as quest Hunter, shadow Priest and pirate Warrior. They emote too! They look so happy they can win. I understand don't worry, you don't want to play ranked because that could stress you out of losing ranks. I'm happy for you!

PS: We should take care about (in reality) mentally challenged people and help them. No questions here.

     This is... the pepper thread...

I don't understand why you want to farm exp. The real issue is farm tasks. You can simply put the merc low in the team while you are farming tasks.

It seems very pointless to me your idea.

Free exp = free gold = more of whatever you want.

It's a low commitment, easy way to get exp without roping people out on ladder or tanking matches in BGs. I support this method.

I've done this a little bit at work, while my phone is sitting on my desk next to me. Just start a bounty, queue up your attacks, then set a timer for 30 minutes. Rinse and repeat for 202xp per battle.

It's not free at all you still gotta do things, you just turned a fun game into a garbage clicking/semi idle game.

Checking back and repeat all the steps every 20 minutes sounds horrible and depressing and I don't see what else the op can do in his life that is so significant within these 20 minutes, so yeah it's pretty much strictly worse than playing the game whenever you want and getting xp from it, extremely alienating and unneffective farming method, makes zero sense to use it unless you actively want to sabotage your life.

I feel like that's maybe taking it to the extreme there... farming is exactly what it sounds like. It's farming. It's not the same as playing the game and having fun. I do that when I can focus my attention on it and actually enjoy it.

Putting my phone to the side and clicking a few things every half hour to get rewards from it is very low impact on my day, but it boosts my overall gold afterward which I can then use to enjoy the game further. So I'd call that a net gain.

I mean yeah it's extreme but, doing something repetitive and alienating every 20min for some extremely marginal gain is not very low impact on my day, it's huge and can cause depression (or less extreme forms of it). I know it's not supposed to be fun but it's supposed to be extremely effective, that's like the one reason you would sacrifice fun, efficiency. And this doesn't sound efficient as farming, you lose 100% fun but you barely gain twice the normal amount of resource it's just bad, no pro player in the world would ever do that and in fact, I suspect none ever has or ever will, they already have full level 30 collection anyway, and doesn't sound useful at all when done "for free" like you said during a phone call or whatever (you're still distracted and I'm not sure your boss is ok with that). It's not like it's even hard to get every merc to level 30 anyway, what are you guys farming exactly.

But I'm also a guy who wasted years of his life doing this kind of stuff to the extreme in games like raid shadow legends. So I know what i'm talking about and I know how ugly and futile it can get, but I definitely shouldn't be the one to judge. I'm just saying, this kind of routine can have huge impact on your life without you noticing a change, even if this sounds insignificant because it's just a few clicks on your phone.

I mean phones basically did that to us already, most people are literally farming attention on social media, to what purpose no one knows, and it is now normal to everyone. A few years back when I was a teenager my parents would punish me for using my phone when we are eating dinner, now on family dinners I'm the only one without a phone on the table at all times. Our brain isn't ready for farming, I guess is what i'm saying, I don't even know I lost myself.

The point of this is to get exp for the rewards track, which in turn gives you gold to use in the game.

The time spent doing this has a real, monetary value, if you look at this way. (and if you care about having more gold in HS)

You make excellent points about people being distracted in general and the dependency on our phones, though. This can definitely get out of hand if people take it too seriously. Everyone's personal case will be different.

That said, if this kind of attention-taking, repetitive action is going to harm your happiness in any way, then I would not recommend it at all. We all need to be cognizant of our own mental health needs and pay attention to the things that are actually important.

For what it's worth, when I was a teenager, I didn't even have a cell phone to get yelled at for having at the dinner table - but the idea that we need to be present for the people around us was still an important lesson I was taught. I hope others can learn that, too.

    Updated your list?

Since getting a chance to actually test drive my updated list on ladder, it's been going well. I'm not convinced that Doggie Biscuit is actually necessary here... I used to like Ramming Mount, but also Mystery Winner for flexibility is good too...

    *deck*

Defias Blastfisher is easily MVP right now, though. If the opponent ignores any of the 1/1s, (or can't clear the 5/5s) this guy just comes in and cleans up. Feels great.

How is your experience so far?

I am facing mostly quest mages, and feel the deck is terrible against them.

When facing a minion based deck though the deck seems quite decent. I run Monstrous Parrot in combination with Rodent Nest on curve, or to copy The Rat King himself. I still feel like the deck is missing some fuel though, most of the time you just end up with a full board of tiny 1/1's

I think that's why I really like the addition of Defias Blastfisher. It gives you immediate damage and/or board clearing for having all those 1/1s.

Obviously, any minion based deck is going to suffer against quest mage, but there are a lot of minion based decks out there now, I think it's less appropriate to tech cards for mage these days, but it may depend on your rank and time of day playing.

Also, I was curious about Monstrous Parrot, does it just put a dormant The Rat King on the board?

How the actual fuck do you have DAY 1 of your big new flashy duels hero that you're giving a ton of advertising space and NOT have his first treasure work right?! It's the first thing you test, surely?

Built a deck entirely around drawing it at the start of game as it says.

Start of Game: nothing happens. Weapon remains undrawn.

    Fucking indie company.

Oh also I somehow drew the coin on turn 8 in one game and only then realised I never got it as I normally should have!?

This happened to me in the Brawl the other day. The coin sound happened at the beginning of the game, but instead of giving me the coin it gently placed a random spell in my hand, instead of the coin.

I thought for a second if it was a part of the Brawl, but I'm pretty sure it didn't happen before the patch.

    So many bugs... sheesh.

posted a message on The misconception of the Tavern Pass?

Well, whoever is saying that the tavern pass is a waste of money is incorrect - there is plenty of value in it. After they changed it from the original release, I don't really see a lot of people complaining about it anymore...

I bought the pass this expansion and I don't regret it at all. With all the skins and extra gold you get out of it, I'd say it's the best value bundle. Not like the ones they drop into the shop at like $25 for one skin and maybe a card back.

I am... level 178 today with the pass, and that's not what I would consider really hardcore time invested. Like, an hour on my lunch break at work, throw in some time in evenings before bed, and others here and there.

The only people it doesn't benefit are the super casual players who really don't play a lot.

Well I theorycrafted a DH deck that used it to OTK and that actually ended up with negative votes today, so this card must be awful!

Still need to actually test it. People are inherently negative about everything around here, it seems. How exhausting...

I think you are mixing up a few things here:

Firstly, theorycrafting a deck doesn’t say anything about a single card. Your deck was OTK-ish, but relied on drawing quite a few specific cards. So in the end it might just be a bad deck, Smite or no Smite.

Secondly, you named your thread “meta solved”. Yes, Smite could be the next Leeroy and part of nearly every deck for the reach, but as you said, your deck needs testing.

So there was no compelling argument, why the deck was the next meta breaker or that it would actually work. That’s why it ended up with two upvotes and three down - which is like nothing.

Well, the post title was done in jest, but it was taken too seriously, I guess, and triggered people? And my comment about my deck being downvoted and the card being bad was also just a joke... I guess I should stop making threads, decks and joking.

I feel like this forum doesn't get a lot of activity like it used to, so I was compelled to just make something to stir some conversation, but the outcome doesn't really encourage me to try again.

I should stick to making threads with unaggressive titles where I try to motivate people to share new deck ideas and get zero replies. :)))))

On topic: I've only played a handful of games in standard since patch and haven't seen any pirate warriors, nor have I been smashed by Mr. Smite yet. Anyone else?

But I can see this guy being the absolute bane of the meta, both standard and wild, for a while. I see a lot of pirate warrior on ladder in standard already, now they can chunk 6+ free damage on you out of nowhere, woo! :D

posted a message on Deadmines meta solved :O

Hey all, thanks for the replies. I especially really appreciate the guys who just bashed my idea without adding any constructive feedback - Thanks!

The idea here is more of an OTK - you finish the quest, then draw smite, bloodsails, etc and aim for a single turn where you drop them all and charge face. Because of the questline reward, all of these become 2 mana cheaper each, so it's possible.

The Lion's Frenzy would be able to superbuff the bloodsail raiders, in theory. And then they all have charge. Kayn can be thrown in if you're up against taunts.

Single tusk piercer and single peddler is just to try and get the quest done faster. It's nice to have the flexibility of adding 1 or 2 more draws whenever you need it by swinging the weapon and then trading the peddler back in. Though, with the new tradeable card in here, it's maybe not required. Like I said, can be tweaked for sure.

Hey, just spitballin' before the mini set drops. Let's just have some fun with it, eh?

Could perhaps require some small tweaks, but... as long as you're not already dead by turn 6 or 7, there's a lot of damage that can come through here.

The Rodent Nest is actually a card that's been working decently for me. And I think it's going to be a lot better once we have Blastfisher.

The biggest thing that bugs me is the anti-synergy with mule and the "draw a card and buff it" cards. So frustrating.

Tell me about it - I guess the sequence is what makes it not work the way we'd like to. Draw -> mule makes copy -> buff drawn card. >_>

I guess that's the reason why Warsong Wrangler's effect does work with mule, because the copy of the mule is created before the buff is applied to all mules.

At any rate, I'm definitely interested in trying out blastfisher as well, so I think you're probably right to keep the rodent nest here. More rats, more pew pew :)
