posted a message on Rank all the Hero Cards by tiers

I prefer Great, Average and Bad, just personal preference.

    Great:

Scabbs: Everything rogue wants and more.

Kurtrus: Turns rush tokens into dmg, basically an ETC combo for DH.

Cariel: Infinite weapon that hard counters burn decks, aoe + strong handbuff HP? This hero does WAY too many things at once.

    Average:

Tamsin: Cheap, impactful and great for any non-quest decks, and thats the problem. They REALLY need to straight up remove the demon seed from the game for this to see any play, which is very sad.

Xyrella: Slow priest card doing slow priest things. Has a lot of potential and will only get better with every good DR added, but doesnt help in priests worst matchups and its irrelevant in the better ones, doesnt change the class stand in the game.

Guff: Draw and ramp are always welcome in slow druid decks, but Blizz chose to support token/beast strategies instead of things that could leverage the 20 mana into a more impactful wincon. What is the point of 20 mana when druid can just make everything cost 1 with Celestial Alignment? So far im not seeing it.

Rokara: The definition of average, not great but not bad either. People forget that proactive HPs are extremely valuable for CW, to the point where ppl were playing Galakrond with zero invokes for the HP alone, its just that good. The weapon is a cute bonus.

    Bad:

Dawngrasp: Had lots of potential, all wasted cuz its too hard to execute. It only recasts spells you played yourself, which is VERY stupid cuz it has anti-synergy with Clumsy Courier and Iceblood Tower! WHY?? Huge missed opportunity here.

Bru'kan: The last expansion in a year cycle is always the most difficult for any card to find a place in a deck, they need to be very impactful by itself or have strong synergy with previous strategies. This one has neither, so no chance of seeing play.

Tavish: Same as above. The improved traps are super niche and the random HP only matters in drawn out matchups, something hunter doesnt want to do at all.

Are Dream and Ysera Awakens nature? Its the spell school that Mage doesnt have, if so I guess Archdruid Naralex just found a deck!

Still worth it I think, cuz the interaction between this hero power, Wildfire and Reckless Apprentice is pretty crazy (if the game lasts that long ofc). You can save one Wildfire for after hero card in matches where that matters.

You know something went super wrong when Priest became the most honest class in the game, which is why it sucks ass rn.

I hated Priest obnoxious pkaystyle for the longest time, but the number one dickhead spot is now being contested between Mage and Warlock, and im not sure which one wins.

FUCK THE QUESTS, STORMWIND IS THE WORST EXPANSION OF ALL TIME AAAAAAAAAAAAA

If you don't like Dark Alley Pact, maybe you can try to add Felosophy to copy the reduced-cost Demons? or Demonic Studies for tempo play?

Tried Demonic Studies, the problem is the random demons clogging my hand end up eating the discount so its pointless :/. Felosophy sounds super greedy, i love it but know its not feasible.

Too minion focused. Quest mage and quest hunter will farm free wins. The best thing for this IMO is to cut the cascading disasters, hysteria, dark pacts, free admission and the void drinkers and add in demon seed, backfire and flesh giants etc. I get what you’re trying to do here, but the quest is just too good to not fit into most decks and make them better. You don’t have a single other turn 1 play. You are going to be hammering your hero power… it’s better as quest handlock featuring big minions.

Quest is boring af, made this deck to play my favorite class w/o being forced into that obnoxious playstyle. It also requires dedicated support to get the most out of it, dont think these two archetypes can mix well. But hey, if you got a list to share, feel free to post here!

Sup! Have been messing with a Handlock version with Vanndar on Diamond 5 and up and the results have been promising:

    Vanndar Handlock
Export to BBCode Export to Cockatrice Export to MarkDown Export to Html Clone this deck
    Minion (16) Ability (14)
    Loading Collection

The highroll potential is awesome: getting any big taunt early with Vanndar/Dark Portal/Free Admission wins most aggressive matchups, while the usual Tickatus/Y'shaarj deals with most control. Very fun when it works, though sometimes it loses to itself if I draw all the big stuff too early.

I want to cut Dark Alley Pact for something else, but im struggling to find anything. My worst matchups are quest mage (nothing to do rly, good thing they are rarer now with nerfs) and quest lock, any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

posted a message on So what did you pick?

Wanted to pick Horde so bad, but realized no aggressive deck will ever run Drek cuz all their finishers have 4+ mana (Mr. Smite anyone??) so ye, Horde is bait. Vanndar could be bait too, but its a more interesting bait I guess lol.

posted a message on Druid: are they nerfing the wrong card?

Oracle has no business having 4 health for such a powerful effect, the difference between having 3 and 4 health for an early game minion is massive, most aoe cant deal with it, which is why taunt druid has no reliable counter rn.

Uh...you realise quest mage is tier 3...right? What you're saying it ping mage is just as good as quest mage then.

Quest mage is lower tier 2 in hsreplay, it still has the significant role of countering crtl shaman and pirate warrior. That might change as the meta post-patch shifts, but thats how it is now. The best HP mage list remains lower tier 3 in comparison.

    Quote from FortyDust >>

That makes sense because Quest destroys slow decks, while Ping is better at handling aggro. Quest tends to beat Ping when they face off against each other because Ping has to play minions and Quest does not.

(OoZuNoO's comment about RSW is silly, of course, because Ping has plenty of minion-based draw.)

You mean Starscryer? Manafeeder Panthara? Frostweave Dungeoneer? Sure hope not, cuz that would be hilarious.

    Quote from ShadowAldrius >>

Depends on the build I think. This version I've been running really doesn't struggle with greedy quest decks. It blows them up faster than it dies to them.

My issue with HP mage rn is that no matter how you build it, it feels like a much slower, less efficient version of shadow priest, looks too redundant to me. Your list looks fun though, I'd still probably find space for Wandmaker since Wildfire is 1 mana now.

It REALLY isn't garbage. Wildfire is an insanely strong card now alone. And Mordresh is a huge tempo swing AND finisher.

Tried every build I could think/find, Quest mage still better in every way. HP Mage just cant kill your opponent fast enough, its tier 3 at best. Any mage deck that doesnt abuse Incanter's Flow and RSW has zero chance of being good rn, hopefully that changes with the miniset.

posted a message on The massive Ignite issue in Standard

The worst part is there rly aint no way to balance Ignite w/o just murdering it, cuz the issue is the self-shuffling effect giving mage infinite dmg and thats what the card is played for, w/o it the class is just dead in standard.

The hero power buffs didnt do enough to rly get it off the ground, its still garbage. Since the class playrate is so low Blizz wont change anything, so whenever you queue up against mage it just feelsbadman.

Quest deck feels like premounted strategies you need to follow with little to nothing real choices, like the devs don't leave the players the building process what is half of the fun.

When every warlock deck in Wild or Standard is a quest one this prove the entire concept of the quest was a spetacular failure.

Couldnt agree more. Doesnt matter if you're playing many different classes if their gameplay all feels the same, in this case 1. Play quest 2. Progress it faster than your opponent's 3. Win.

Very happy about this, very curious as to what they're gonna change though. Stealer of Souls is super gimmicky, handlock/zoo variants of the quest are much better, so i dont think they are hitting it. The quest then?? That would be the dream!

    Quote from PetiteMouche >>

I did understand you wasted your time typing this, however you replied to barely 10% of my post and ignored the rest, I don't think it's a langage issue. And I said more free stuff more quickly, which IS what you'ree asking.

This statement tells me you dont care much about the deckbuilding aspect of the game, and thats fine.

It's so funny that you're a psychologist and needed to tell me that with pride, because you couldn't be more wrong about this analysis, I'm a hardcore deck builder I spend more time in the builder than in the actual game. That's literally the one reason why I pre order expansions. And I can tell you I enjoy my homebrew decks much more in metas where they can thrive, and I hate playing them in metas where they get crushed. That's called being human and it is baffling that a psychologist tries so hard to deny this simple fact just to make a point about his stupid boar. High winrate doesn't have to be a goal to be something that you unconsciously seek and enjoy. I think this discussion is pointless and thanks a lot for reinforcing what I already thought about psychologists. I'm a truck farmer by the way, since that matters, and english isn't my main langage either.

everyone who enjoys deckbuilding agreed with me

Nope, only the entitled F2P ones. "everyone who thinks like me agreed with me" fascinating.

"That's literally the one reason why I pre order expansions." - you're pretty much the living example of what I said earlier then, that rn experimentation is a whale's privilege. The point of my suggestion is exactly to make that less of a problem for f2p, not fix it entirely (since its impossible).

Again, no.. I dont want more free stuff more quickly, you sound like I want all freebies to be unlockable in the first week, thats not it. Not gonna bother explaining a third time, cuz as you said, this is becoming pointless. Finally something we can agree I guess.

Too bad you dont like psychologists, theres a lot you could get from therapy.
