This card is an objectively worse version of Unholy Frenzy. It looked good before I realized that was a single unholy rune card. I run 2 of them in my rainbow DK. Card is incredible.

I still have no idea what this character is supposed to be. It's called "taven tipper" so youd assume it'd be a patron at the tavern, but shes dressed like a bar maid. Is she the one being tipped or the one tipping?

Anybody who crafted or opened Climactic Necrotic Explosion can I get an F in the chat

When I read the patch notes teaser, I knew this was going to be one of the worst and most idiotic patches they've ever done with the sheer number of buffs and lack of nerfs. I still had a little bit of hope that the big DK change wasnt going to be stupid, but man oh man, they did the worst possible change. They couldve easily fixed this by making it so you couldn't discover cards from runes you dont have at least 1 of. Then, you would actually get an incentive to not just run all 3 of one rune and rainbow DK wouldn't have to suffer. The power level of all the cards in the game is so insane that you have to run triple rune cards in every DK deck, and one of the saving graces of rainbow DK was that you could still get those, albeit with extra steps in a balanced way. Now this change makes the most played DK decks like .5% worse, but completely butchers rainbow DK which of course is the most fun one. Leave it to Blizzard.

This is just false information. Druid was not in every line up. Not even in most. Don't make up stuff to argue a point.

I watched the thing. Fine, not EVERY lineup, but it was in more than half of the matches. Why does that even matter.Anub'Rekhan + Underking +Zok Fogsnout wins the game vs most decks and you can consistently play it turn 8 and its extremely difficult for most decks to kill them before that. It's horrible game design too because Zok's a fun card that was created for the button druid archetype and he works better with the same crappy generic combo/control druid thats been the meta for the past 8 years.

enlighten me: what beats blood DK? And it was in fact the #1 highest winrate deck at least for the first 2 weeks according to hearth arena

Theres so much insanely broken stuff in this game that I even forgot to mention druid and how they didnt touch the druid deck that was in EVERY lineup at blizzard's tournament and summons 40 mana worth of stuff on turn 8 with anubrakhan and Zog...

Completely braindead. I'm astounded by this. I was expecting this patch to be awful when they announced a lot of buffs, but holy crap. Out of all of the cards in the game they decide to buff, ALL of them see play. And they're unnerfing yet another S tier card... Not one of these cards they picked needed a buff. And before all the people comment zomg warrior needed buff are you crazy? Almost no one even tried to play warrior. I saw a total of 2 streamers playing warrior so far and both said that it was surprisingly good and got to legend with warrior decks.

Literally all they had to do was nerf blood DK (which is the best current deck and it doesn't look like they're even nerfing it), shadow priest, frost DK, relic DH and it would've been a great meta. Now the meta is going to be A LOT worse. People will love this for like 3 days, but then will quickly realize that all of these cards are now overtuned and you are going to be pidgeon-holed into playing 1 specific deck per class even more. We needed less powercreep, not more.

This proves my theory that the balance team either A: doesnt playtest anymore, or B: when they do playtest, they all just play 1 deck per class each expansion and are perfectly happy with that.

I really really hate that they buff cards and even unnerf cards with almost every patch now. The problem with this meta is that the cards are TOO powerful. All around they are. It limits what strategies you can play. Plus, I can only think of like 2 or 3 cards in this expansion that could use a buff. Everything else is fair. It really pisses me off when content creators complain about things being "unplayable because they're 'not unfair'". Enough with the power creep. I'm tired of being punished for not playing a premade deck made by blizzard full of 'must include' cards. I HATE Astalor, but luckily I actually got him from a pack. I would've never crafted that stupid card, but you NEED to put him in every deck you make. There is no counter for that card so if you don't have him in your deck and draw him, but your opponent does, you are automatically at a disadvantage. That Lightray card they just nerfed... that was a buffed card btw... This isnt the first time this year where they had to nerf a card they just buffed. Oh gee I wonder why...

Their card design philosophy sucks really badly right now. It used to be "hey heres an idea for a new card. It's a 4 mana card. Well Chillwind Yeti also costs 4 and is a 4 5, so lets make sure this new 4 mana card is some sort of spin off from yeti. We can make it have slightly more value because it's a class card and not a neutral, but if we give it a battlecry, or deathrattle, we have to reduce its stats from 4 5 somehow to compensate." Now their design process is: "Would it completely break the game if we print a card like Ghostly Strike? It'll be very strong but it wont completely break the game so lets print it. And as a result, yes, the card doesnt break the game, but now until the card rotates, it will be a must include unless theres a card more broken that has better synergy in your deck.

I agree with most comments: the choice is yours. I think the rotation is the best time to return and if you don't like the expansion, better to catch that early and move on to try again later.

Meta depends on what's dominate and what you like, as I hated the heavy discover metas that plagued the game from SoU/RoS/DoD/AoU/SA/MatDF I've enjoyed these last 3 expansions since my own return to the game.

I'd rather die to mild un-interactive bullshit that the opponent actually put into their deck (That I too can add) than shit that wasn't even on their radar.

I see the vocal majority of people on this site say shit like "Prince Renathol was the best thing they've ever added to this game" and unironically got angry when they nerfed Theotar, the Mad Duke" Both cards were neutral legendaries you had to craft

I just want to correct you here real quick and say that you cannot craft Prince Renathal, he was the free login reward for it's expansion, now you only need to open one Castle Nathria pack to get him. You also did not need to add him to your decks. I played all variations of DH decks of the last two expansions and you were better without him long before the nerf, you shredded XL decks even better because of your consistency. Most decks were like that, with the exception of most Druid/Rogue/Priest that benefited from being given more cards in XL.

yeah, you're right. I realized that after i wrote that. You did get him and denathrius for free. I too played mostly DH in castle nathria, but from my experience, like 2/3 of decks I faced, at least at my rank, were against renathol decks, and maybe I'm just really unlucky, but despite playing an extremely aggressive variant, my opponents would win with like 4 or 5 hp remaining every game whilst passing at least 3 turns before turn 6 and playing a curve that didnt seem like they sacrificed anything because none of their cards had synergy anyway. And me personally, I just hate the 40 playstyle because 1: it makes your deck more expensive to craft and 2: because I like making my own decks that involve strategies revolving around specific cards that no one else plays and 40 card decks, whilst a lot of the time would benefit me, just make my deck feel less fun. And I felt during that meta that you had to play that. You certainly cannot win still with a slower game plan vs it now despite it being nerfed, because they will always win in fatigue no matter how aggressively they drew cards.

Im right with you in terms of quitting after the sunken city. I had a lot of fun in that expansion, but the meta in the next one: murder at castle nathria was HORRENDOUS and it got even worse with the stupid edgelord theme they went with in March of the Lich King. Most of the people who played this game quit years ago and the majority of the people who stayed unfortunately have horrible opinions about everything, and Blizzard has finally been listening to them and catering to them since Sunken City, so I have little faith for this game going forward. For instance, I see the vocal majority of people on this site say shit like "Prince Renathol was the best thing they've ever added to this game" and unironically got angry when they nerfed Theotar, the Mad Duke" Both cards were neutral legendaries you had to craft and were included in more than 60% of decks and literally prevented any deck that wasn't "40 of your class's best cards/legendaries thrown together with little to no synergy and grind out 30 minute long games where you play the same cards over and over with almost no potential of anything random or wacky happening" And they won't shut up about the stupid "warrior isn't strong enough because hearth arena said they have an overall winrate that's 5% lower than the other classes in the current meta" And they actually want them to buff cards when the power creep in this game has never been higher.

That being said, I am looking forward to this expansion however because I think the theme is 10/10. I think it's really cool that they're going with a 1970s woodstock theme + death metal and rave references in it. It's extremely unique, unexpected and the art work, especially the signature cards is absolutely gorgeous. I gave up trying to be competitive in this game years ago, so I play mostly for the occasional meme deck and to collect the cards just so I can look at them. I think the first month is going to be extremely fun achievement hunting. I can totally see it going downhill fast in the months after it though. Also, battlegrounds and mercenaries (if you have patience) are very fun. I think mercenaries had a lot of potential, but they killed it (literally) now. Its a total shame because they could've fixed it with a few design changes.

Play it, or don't play it. It's up to you. I havent bought a bundle for this since Saviors of Uldum (the best meta they ever had), but I usually get the tavern pass. (I didn't last expac though because fuck that garbage and the cosmetics blew ass). The best thing about the game now, however is that it's ironically more free to play than ever. I have 6000+ gold atm and 26 unopened packs Ive gotten just from tavern brawls, and daily quests.

why did i get downvoted for that lol?? Vexallus should be included in this archetype. Its great with the bolts too. It's really not that slow compared to everything else in this deck. Realistically, you're not going to naturally draw/create more than 5 lightshows in a game. And 5 is generous. I want to see it work, but I feel like the slower decks like DK that will actually let you do this are going to have so much HP that they'll laugh at taking 16 damage from a double light show on like turn 12. And that's if they don't have anything on board the turn you play your combo.

This is the most insanely busted card Ive ever seen in 9 years of HS. Don't forget that this thing will summon a 3 3 every time it takes damage too.

If youre playing a midrange or aggro deck, you will usually have to trade at least 2 minions into this. When you do so, the DK gains 6 hp and summons 6 6 worth of stats on a freaking 5 drop. And this is a must kill threat because it has lifesteal. 5 mana 9/12 when you LOW ROLL with this card. You can also play the 2 mana draw 1 gain 10 hp card with this for 7 mana which summons 10 10 stats for 2 mana. I will be shocked if this card doesn't get nerfed in a hotfix within a week of release. No way blood DK isn't S tier. The deck already is almost impossible to beat currently and is losing 0 cards with rotation.

they rly have been testing out disruption a lot recently, well, time will tell if they stick with it or not,or if its just a one time only thing like jousting,but....wild is doomed, but hey...who cares about wild lul

see the problem is that there are a ton of disruption cards in other games like magic the gathering and theres a card called "aloof travelers" in legends of runeterra which are strong, but they're not a big deal. The reason why is because in those games, you can put 3 or more copies of a card in your deck, even if its a legendary card, so if your card gets destroyed in hand, you still have at least 2 other copies. In HS, you only get 2 copies of a card and 1 legendary, so these cards are completely toxic. Half the time, when a card like this is played, one player's win condition is ruined and they have no way to win the game so they end up conceding. That's horrible game design. People complain about a lot of stuff in this game, but it is legitimately the worst feeling in the game when you have to concede because your opponent played 1 card.

As a result of this and the abundance of hand disruption, people just dont play decks anymore that are weak to it, so deck variety has plummetted and most decks on ladder are just "pick a class and choose all the best cards". It's really freaking lame, but so many dumb people on the forums and streamers like it.
