posted a message on New Legendary Card - Don Han'Cho (Hunters, Paladins, and Warriors)

Is Malygos a boring legendary because he does Spell Damage +5 instead of Spell Damage +1 like every other minion in his gimmick? I think there's real value to having a massive increase in one card instead of multiple little increases. It can be a huge source of damage on a charge minion like Grommash Hellscream or King Krush. It can also fit in a deck that isn't reliant on the Grimy Goons archetype since it only uses 1 card for a big +5/+5 instead of committing multiple cards in a deck. I think this card is more flexible than his underlings, and we'll probably see him in decks beyond the goons archetypes.

Something magical happens if we follow the stat line trend established by current windfury minions.

    Grotesque Dragonhawk (7 mana 5/5) --> Windfury Harpy (6 mana 4/5) --> Grook-Fu Master (5 mana 3/5) --> Another Bad Windfury Neutral (4 mana 2/5) --> ??? Rager (3 mana 1/5).

I really hope we see a new rager this expansion. Perhaps he'll be the Wind Rager, a power creep on Am'gam Rager with the windrage keyword (which is just windfury).

I would think that the easiest circumstances to get value are with warrior or priest where you can play some spells and hit Heal or Tank Up! a few times. Which is probably kind of a clumsy situation where Garrison Commander would also do about as well. I guess one could also run Cloaked Huntress and dump all kinds of secrets and unload a lot of face damage in the same turn. Either way, that's still a pretty hefty mana investment where Maiden of the Lake, Fencing Coach, or Emperor Thaurissan is needed.

I suppose for dream situations, one could have Nexus-Champion Saraad on board and get multiple cheap spells from him. Or maybe getting some kind of combo out of Majordomo Executus (post deathrattle) and cheap spells like Arcane Missiles, Sinister Strike, or Moonfire. Poisoned Blade could also get big off this in a miracle deck built around it (bonus points if Sir Finley Mrrgglton rolls Steady Shot for an OTK). Actually, maybe Disguised Toast was the best person to discover this card, because there's some pretty wacky combos out there.

Mind Control Tech was never a bad card against zoo decks, but required 4 enemy minions. At 3 enemy minions, this might actually see play!

posted a message on 'Take All Three' Button

The balance problems people are talking about have to do with class balance. Adding in mechanics to all the classes doesn't solve that problem. It'd probably really throw things out of balance since mages, rogues, and paladins are still more likely to encounter a set of 2 or 3 strong cards. It's an interesting idea and there are definitely times I'd like to pick all three cards (had a choice between Fiery War Axe, Obsidian Destroyer, and Death's Bite last run with warrior). However, I think it runs contrary to the idea that part of what divides skilled and unskilled players is making those difficult choices between 3 good cards. It's great to have extra options, but it can also drive the power level of arena decks up and diminish the impact of a good choice vs a bad choice.

posted a message on Who Was The Hardest Kharazan Boss?

Definitely Heroic Malchezaar (the last boss) who was at the difficulty of final bosses of other adventures. This adventure has definitely been the easiest, with some bosses having almost identical decks and advantages between normal and heroic. Most heroic bosses could also be defeated using a wide variety of strategies, with Nightbane being vulnerable to really any deck one could make. The class challenges are similar to other adventures in difficulty, at least there wasn't anything like the Naxx paladin class challenge, though.

I think what people are upset about isn't that the normal or class challenges were too easy, it's that heroic mode wasn't a significant jump up in difficulty. Several bosses didn't change between difficulties, like Nightbane having the same deck and no additional advantages given to him, or Shade of Aran only gaining number increases on his hero power and Flame Wreath. Other bosses saw primarily a 1-mana cost reduction for their unique spells as well. There were several ways they could've had difficulty like in previous adventures given the mechanics they released with. Why couldn't The Crone have 50 health and 50 armor? Why doesn't the Big Bad Wolf have a higher mana cost deck? Why does Shade of Aran's hero power still affect the player? It was possible for the heroic bosses to be difficult with the mechanics they gave the bosses, but they held back too much.

Barnes can fish for an extra murloc card for an earlier Anyfin Can Happen combo (like The Curator does), or land a 1/1 taunt with extra stuff if it doesn't. In fact, you could probably replace The Curator if you wanted another early card to play.

He's not necessary to the deck, so any of the suggested cards will do. If you want a 5th murloc, you can run Barnes to fish for Bluegill Warrior or Murloc Warleader, or land a 1/1 taunt with extra stuff if it misses.

I used Coghammer in my first clear, but it costs a lot of health to clear out minions with it. I also had 2 Truesilver Champions but found that using any weapons for removal generally did more harm than help. It's certainly an option, but I think it's a bit risky.

I've been trying out more Psych-o-Trons, so I think they'll be going in the deck over the 2nd Blessing of Wisdom and Acidic Swamp Ooze. That's a good observation with taunts; I haven't really tried playing more than 1 at a time.

I just tried the shaman deck that's out there that uses Psych-o-Tron, Sludge Belcher, AND Sunwalker. It's pretty effective at stopping her board but dies to face spells pretty easily. I'm going to try a few changes a bit later tonight to get a better balance between healing and taunt effects.

It seems like attacking into anything with the combination of taunt and deathrattle is regarded as giving the player too much value. It was probably why Abomination and friends were exploitable before the hotfix, and why it still seems to work sometimes with Sludge Belcher and Tirion Fordring. There were a few cases where bosses would attack Abomination pre-hotfix: damaged or debuffed minions, the boss could kill it or you with spells, or had enough attack from a weapon/spell to kill it themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if the KT-Taunt bug still works, except you now also need a beneficial deathrattle (i.e. Tirion Fordring, Sludge Belcher, Infested Tauren) There's definitely something going on with the AI that can be exploited, but it seems to have too many conditions to set up reliably.

I didn't give it much consideration at the time, but I think I agree. Psych-o-Tron would eat up 3 attacks, just like Sludge Belcher, but will always be at 3 attack for Orc Warriors, unlike Sludge Belcher whose 1/2 Sludge isn't going to kill anything.

Perhaps I should've named this Heroic SMOrc Anyfin, since the majority of this is dealing with Nazra Wildaxe who is a SMOrc in every conceivable way (except the space marine part, I guess).

She really is the SMOrc final boss. But I've actually had her attack into my Silver Hand Recruits so many times now. Perhaps it depends on what other cards are in her hand? I'd assume if she's holding Wolfrider, those 1/1s suddenly look pretty threatening.
