* NOTE: If you have an Arena run in progress when Hallow’s End begins on October 24, then it will be retired and you’ll receive the normal rewards for the number of wins you achieved and a free Arena ticket. In the hours just before the beginning and conclusion of Hallow’s End on October 24 and November 6, it will temporarily be impossible to purchase a new Arena ticket.
As they did prior to the event, they closed new arenas in the final hours leading up to the end of the event. It wasn't as promoted as prior to the event, but it was announced.
It's still really early, but the combo I'm already dying to try is to hit a Carnivorous Cube with another Carnivorous Cube. Immediately spawn 2 copies of the minion eaten by the first cube, then the second cube dies and spawns 2 more cubes, which will each spawn 2 more of the original target... yes, please.
Of course, with my luck, my second cube will get silenced. Or Mind Controlled.
As for chronicling your experiences in an ongoing thread, others have done so in the past (myself included), and that type of thread seems modestly popular. I highly recommend using a deck tracker to post links to replays; I can attest from personal experience how much time it will save you compared to describing every turn of every game. :+)
Dual-class arena runs will be retired at the end of the event. Still no official word about getting a free ticket if your run is retired, but my personal suspicion is you will not receive one. The retiring of decks at the beginning of the event was unprecedented, and since it's conceivable that a player could come back from a long hiatus and never know their arena run was going to be retired, offering the ticket as compensation makes sense. The dual-class runs are a much smaller time frame, and anyone who makes a run during the event will have the opportunity to see the time limit, so it's more reasonable to take the "sorry, you had your chance" attitude.
I've read nothing to confirm a ticket will be given for a retired event run, whereas prior to the event it was clearly stated about existing runs being retired and a ticket being granted. I can make an argument both ways, so unless/until Blizz confirms or denies, I'm planning to finish out my last run.
Managed to get 2 runs so far (both free tickets). First was Druid-Hunter, second was Mage-Priest. Went 4-3 on both, so not bad. Hopefully I'll have time for a few more runs before this event ends, because it's been fun so far.
He was very nice about it actually. He just said "It happens. GG." I respect him for that, because I would have been raging in the salt thread.
I had a similar experience a good while back. I was playing Priest against a paladin, and after an epic match, I was 1 damage off lethal facing lethal on board. My top-deck was Mad Bomber. It was my only chance, so I played it... and watched the first bomb fly straight to my opponent's face while the other 2 did meaningless minion damage.
After the game I sent a friend request. His first message: "GG. Mad Bomber OP lol"
He had Legend card back with golden hero, and we still chat every now and then. Nice counter to the tiresome "friend request-flame-remove friend" trolls.
Well, I had a Druid run at 6-2 earlier, decided to push for 7 and got stoned by another druid. But the doors were not yet closed, so I bought in for a hunter run... which quickly reached 1-2. I decided I'd rather go 1-3 than chicken out and let it retire, so I rode it... and won. Rode it again... and won. And again. And again. So now it sits at 5-2.
And I've reached my mandatory shut down time of the night because I work tomorrow. And I need my sleep because I'm old. Sigh.
While I don't have an account on the EU servers, a friend of mine confirmed to me a while ago that purchasing a new Arena is no longer possible over there. No clue about Asia or China, but for all you NA players, get it while it's hot, because the countdown has begun!
Oh wow, thank you for a detailed response :) I had somewhat of a 'trivial' question, and didn't expect such a kind response like yours :)
Welcome to the Arena forum, where we're (almost) always friendly and willing to help... unless you provide incontrovertible evidence that you are a douche, in which case we will Eviscerate you. ;+)

TL;DR - leave your run active at your own risk.

Soon*
*The definition of the term "soon" is variable and no assumptions should be made about the length of time involved.

What are the primary targets you want in hand before using DMH?
