It's also not a permanent switch of decks because your opponent gets a King's Ransom card to swap decks back again, which they'll probably use immediately.

Honestly, I can see situations where I would simply keep King's Ransom and push for tempo. All arena decks are a hodge-podge anyway, so unless there was a card still in my deck that would be game-wrecking if my opponent drew it, I'd just keep going. If you play the Ransom immediately, you effectively make King Togwaggle an 8 mana 5/5 that reads "Lock 5 of your opponent's mana crystals on their next turn." Rather than reward someone for playing such a bad card, I'd just keep it and kill them for it.

One thing is sure already tho, we can see that rogue will 100 % get toned down a bit with KAC, since all three common class cards r basically garbage. And two of these r secrets, so ppl will pick those, some rogue plays might get very predictable and taken advantage of.

I want to see the third Rogue secret before passing final judgement. Until we know how all 3 work, we won't know the full extent of how to play around them, and thus their impact.

Wow. 1 off lethal if you copy the Devilsaur and use Blessing and Spikeridged.
     isn't it 3 + 2 + 3 + 9 + 7 + 2 + 3? thats 29, the opponent is at 24
9 (Blood) + 7 (Devilsaur) + 3 (Prince w/ Charge) + 3 (Might on any friendly minion) + 2 (Spikeridged on any friendly) = 24. Opponent is at 25. Might and Spikeridged do not get copied by Prince.
*EDIT - Wrong cards in hand.

*EDIT - I mistook Desperate Stand for Blessing of Might (can't read the language), so it's not as close to lethal as I thought.

I want to make a quick point about Lesser Pearl Spellstone: it doesn't matter what the target is that gets health restored. It could be your hero; it could one (or more) of your minions; it could even be your opponent or your opponent's minions, though the situations where that would be advisable are rare. I can already see a turn 5 play: value-trade with 4-drop, damaging it by 3; heal 4-drop with Farseer for 3; drop 4/4 taunt for 2. Corrupted healbot synergy as well.

posted a message on What got you to the next level?

What pushed me to the "next level" was posting all my replays here in a blog-type thread. Not only did I get tips about my drafts and gameplay from the community here, going back over every game (either descriptively or by watching a replay) helped me spot not just blatant mistakes, but also my plays that were good, but not as good as other options. Those are the plays that get you to the next level. Avoiding misplays gets you to ~3; avoiding the sub-optimal plays gets you into "Tier 2," as I like to call it.

TL;DR - record your games, watch them back, spot your mistakes, stop making them.

(with a small chance of an additional pack from the previous expansion).

Under the current reward system, the guaranteed pack is always from the latest expansion, but additional pack rewards can be from any current Standard set.

Arent those results for Jaina and Guldan skewed, cause they were in statistically more games due to being included in the synergy cards pool and since they r so powerful, more games were won?
    Anyway, good news idd.
Stats are from last 14 days, so they're not skewed from synergy, but that does include a healthy portion of dual-class. Still, any card with a win rate close to 70% when played is nuts.

So now instead of getting sniped by Wild decks, Kripp will get sniped by Death Knight decks!

Out of curiosity, I checked hsreplay.net for stats on hero cards in arena. Average win rates for decks containing hero cards are over 50%, as are average win rates "when played" for all except Valeera the Hollow. What's really crazy, though, are the "when played" win rates for Frost Lich Jaina and Bloodreaver Gul'dan, which are both over 68%.

This is probably a good change for arena. This also means I only have 4 days to finally draft a death knight...

    Quote from TallAr92 >>

Lol was I really that lucky? Maybe the fact that it was rogue and warlock with decent zoo minions... Well good to know anyway that not everyone has the same experience.

^This. Rogue and warlock are probably the only 2 classes I would even attempt Keleseth with, and even then I'd hesitate. Well done with the dual 12's!

posted a message on Prince 2 - In Arena - Good idea?

Even as first pick, I would never take Keleseth with a mage draft. Frostbolt, Primordial Glyph, Flame Geyser, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Arcanologist, Pyros... all off the table for the rest of the draft unless you want a generic 2 mana 2/2 with an orange gem. That's too much to give up. Add to that the fact that its effect gets weaker the later in the game it's played, odds are against having in hand when it would be most effective, making it more likely to hurt you than help. My vote is for Hogger or Wrathion.

Tested the interaction with Moat Lurker, and as you guys suspected, the resummoned minions do not "remember" the deathrattle. Still, as Sinti remarked, spawning 2 copies of the originally eaten minion while playing a 4/6 that spawns 2 more 4/6's when it dies is pretty solid.

I'm pretty sure that you can redraw cards you mulligan away.

Incorrect. Apologies for not having a quotable source, but cards "thrown back" from your original hand cannot be redrawn as replacements. The earliest a rejected card can return to your hand is your Turn 1 draw.

posted a message on Arena Class Tier List After Knights of the Frozen Throne

    Quote from Boozor »
    1) Everyone has their own internal judgement of how valuable each card is worth. Factors like stats, cost, effects, playstyle, experience, synergies all factor into how valuable a card is. The tricky part is that everyone has slightly differing weights for each. Make sure you have a solid reason for choosing the cards you are choosing.

This. As an example, I'll use Mana Wraith. Heartharena scores it 55 (average), and other tierlists list it anywhere from "below average" to "bad." But in the right deck, it can be a major disruption for your opponent without slowing you down at all. My first 12-win run I picked Mana Wraith at pick #10 because it had been used against me to great effect, and I was able to return the favor that run. It's important to note that it requires smart play; there were a couple games where I kept Mana Wraith along with Muster for Battle or Rallying Blade or Seal of Champions so I could maintain tempo, but there were others where I pitched it back because the rest of my hand were minions and it would have slowed my development as well.

Imagine the best case scenario for picking a card, then imagine worst case scenario. Evaluate the odds of each situation as best you can, and then ask yourself if the risk is worth the reward. A slight loss of tempo as a worst case vs a potentially game-changing best case is usually worth it. An amazing (but unlikely) best case vs an unplayable card worst case usually isn't. The more you play, the more you'll get a feel for which risks are worth it. Have fun!

posted a message on arena not avaible

Judging by the timer on my arena screen, the event will likely end at midnight PST. Normal arenas may be available at that time, but I'm not sure if there will be a transition downtime or not.

    EDIT: NA server.
