My paladin run ended up at 10:3, equalling my personal best to date, so I'm pretty happy with that, The last match was against a fellow paladin and I drew lots of early game, but had to just start pushing face quite early when he started dropping fatties. It couldn't have been much closer, with me getting him down to one health and having a Murloc Knight on the board. I hero-powered, but sadly ended up with a non-charging murloc.
For my next run I was offered Hunter, Druid or Paladin. I haven't tended to do brilliantly with Druid and I'm aware that hunter is one of the worts arena classes at the moment, so it seemed as if I had little choice but to take Uther out for another spin.
The deck lacks quality early drops, but has a few nifty cards in there, long with a pretty strong late game. I don't think I'll be beating my last run, but hopefully things won't go too badly.
Just played my NA arena draft - a pretty decent mage with lots of removal and burn. It went 3:3. The difference in my performance between NA and EU is crazy and I really don't think that it's down to facing better players. The EU games feel fairly evenly matched in terms of deck quality and general luck of the draw, whereas I tend to find myself getting competely crushed on NA due to much better decks or (more likely) good draws from my oponents.
My EU Pally run went 5:1 with relatively little trouble, aside from the crazy warlock deck that I lost to (it had at least 4 Power Overwhelming, three of which were used for surprise lethal when I thought I had things under control). I then proceeded to lose the next two games in a row to finish up 5:3. Both were close matches where I gained board control, but lost too much health in the process and lost to reach. The Paladin that took me to 5:2 had Ysera, which definitely helped him.
Not a bad run, but I hoped for a little more, since it seemed like a decent deck. On the plus side it takes my rolling average over the last 10 runs to exactly 6 wins, although it's not exactly a large enough sample to really draw any conclusions from.
It feels like the sort of deck that should do well, provided I don't get totally destroyed in the early game. Any deck with three Water Elementals can't be bad. The two picks where I went against HA were due to me worrying about lack of two drops. It has two cards that scare me in arena - Spellslinger and Fel Reaver, since both have a nasty potential to mess things up, but I'm hoping they behave themselves.
As an aside, I was looking at my history against the various classes on HA. My biggest surprise was my record against priest. It's my second best class to face, overall, but the difference in my performance with and without the coin is massive. It's hard to fathom why there would be such a huge disparity.
I probably would have taken that mad scientist over the frost ele since you already had mirror.
I also would have probably taken crowd favorite over Fel Reaver. You already have big boys and your lack of early game makes me feel like you don't have an aggressive enough deck to take advantage of Fel Reaver.
Personally two secrets is a lot in a deck but your other options were garbage.
Farseer vs SpellSlinger - I guess this is a toss up, Slinger can do okay, but Farseer is pretty reliable and good complement for Mage and their late game style.
Fallen Hero vs MCT - Would have taken MCT here for a swing card, works well in Mage and you already have 1 hero.
I like the deviations from HA to get the lower drops to fill out the curve. HA looks pretty dumb if you would have followed all their suggestions. Good quality deck and should do well. Lacks quality reach, so you'll have to resist the all in button.
Your Arena stats are pretty interesting. Such a high % of Priests opponents. Very high. In general a much higher % of Hunter/Warlock/Shaman as well.
All likelihood you are out-tempoing your Priest opponents pretty hard with the coin in hand. But it's a pretty huge discrepancy

In retrospect the Mad Scientist definitely looks like a far better pick and it was my initial instinct at the time, but I allowed myself to be swayed by HA. The Fel Reaver pick was partly down to facing my fears (I would have picked almost anything over it until recently) and partly because I felt the four drop slot was fairly well provided for with the three Water Elementals.

I was sorely tempted by Farseer over the dastardly Spellslinger, but decided to grasp the nettle and hope that it didn't sting me too badly.
I was already starting to worry about my lack of two drops by the time the MCT Vs Fallen Hero pick came along, so that played a big part in the decision.
The stats are certainly quite odd. Even more odd is that, according to my HA record, there's quite a significant difference between the number of games where I go first versus the number of games where I go second. Only 43% of the 540 recorded games have been with the coin, which seems nigh on impossible if it's genuinely a 50:50 chance.
The mage draft went 5:3. It felt like a pretty powerful deck, but it was so awkward to play. There were a lot of turns where I really struggled to make efficient use of my mana and the losses were against fast decks that did too much damage before I could stabilise. The Fel Reaver was pretty decent, playing a part in winning two games and not screwing me over at all. The Spellslinger managed to resist giving anything too brilliant to my opponents, as well.
Pretty high overall quality, but a lot of low cost minions without a huge amount of draw, so I have some concerns about running out of steam. The only pick where I deviated from HA was the River Crocolisk over the Anub'ar Ambusher. I just find the ambusher so awkward to use, since I'll generally have other minions on the board with it and hate to give my opponent a free sap.
So... It's been a while since I posted in this thread. In all honesty I haven't been playing much arena over the last few months, since I struggle to find the time to concentrate on it properly.
The Rogue deck I posted last went 3:3. I can't claim to remember much about the run, but it clearly wasn't a great one. Since then I've done six more runs, the first five with an average of 5.2 wins. The sixth and most recent was this mage draft:
Drafted on 16 October and only finished today - that says a lot about how much time I've had for Arena. As you'll be able to see from the link, it went 11:3 - a new personal best. The only disappointment was getting to 11:1 and then being crushed by two Paladins in a row. That and the pretty dreadful rewards - 195 gold, a golden common, 75 dust and a MSoG pack.
It was a fun deck to play - lots of removal and some high quality minions. The weakness was lack of early game, but that only really hurt me in the first match, where I was totally swarmed by a warlock, and to a lesser extent in the final match. In my match at 11:1 I actually drew as good an opening hand as I could have hoped for, but the quality of my opponents deck just outshone my own.
Unfortunately I've followed that draft up with this Priest draft:
A few good cards in there, but feeling week in most areas and seriously lacking any sort of decent removal. I don't think I'm going to be getting my first 12 wins with this one.
This deck actually looks pretty good to me. It's priest, so getting the most out of your minions will be key. Your mid game is a little weak (especially 4 drops), but your late game is very strong. Heartharena may call it a midrange deck, but what I see is a value deck. Don't get greedy with your drakonid operatives. If you can pull off the battlecry, great, but it's a solid card just for the stats, and board presence is SO important for priest. Finally, try not to drop your Northshire cleric until you can get immediate value from it.
I also wanted to thank you. When I first started visiting this site, reading your thread helped me improve my Arena play, but it also partially inspired me to start my own thread, and that in turn helped me to my first 12 win run just a couple weeks ago.
Good luck with the run!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Old school WoW Mage motto: if you don't end the run with the most damage dealt AND the most deaths, you're not trying hard enough.
Sadly the deck was as bad as I feared and ended 1:3. It had some staying power, thanks to the healing, but it just made the inevitable defeats all the more painful and prolonged. I never managed to get the battlecry to fire on the Drakonid Operatives and both Mind Control targets were immediately removed (one by a BGH! What are the actual chances of that in arena?).
A little bit of a necro, after almost a year of absence from this thread. I haven't played a lot of arena over the last few months, but I've put in the odd run here and there.
The main purpose of this post is to celebrare the fact that I finally got 12 wins. It took me about 100 runs and it's technically a bit more like an 11 win run, since I started it during the frost festival, but I'm still pretty happy. This is the deck:
Unsurprisingly, the Vilespine Slayers played a big part, as did the abilty to copy them with the Shadowcaster or bounce them. Once the two losses were out of the way everything went rather easily. The rewards were 500g and a pack. Pretty nice.
True- but even those three have had 0-3 drafts. Kripp fairly often posts his 0-3 draft runs which aren't typically against horrible decks.
My paladin run ended up at 10:3, equalling my personal best to date, so I'm pretty happy with that, The last match was against a fellow paladin and I drew lots of early game, but had to just start pushing face quite early when he started dropping fatties. It was a surprisingly fun run, considering that I had relatively low expectations for the deck. The key cards were definitely Blessing of Kings, Keeper of Uldaman and Stormwind Champion.
For my next run I was offered Hunter, Druid or Paladin. I haven't tended to do brilliantly with Druid and I'm aware that hunter is one of the worts arena classes at the moment, so it seemed as if I had little choice but to take Uther out for another spin.

As always, feedback and advice is very welcome.
I don't think i'd change anything from your picks.
There are some bad cards here, but also a lot of strong cards.
Average quality of the deck is high. Hopefully the bad cards don't sink the games. Grats on last 10-3 !

That rogue deck looks really good. One of the few times I'd have drafted the exact same deck as someone else :P
Good luck with it!

My single win was almost entirely down to Velen's Chosen on turn three and Potion of Madness.
I got one MSoG pack and 35 gold. Whoopee!
I have followed that Priest draft with this very uninspiring Warlock one:
http://www.heartharena.com/arena-run/xc64x4
Just nothing much to get excited about... Where are my Hellfires on a 6/6 stick?
*Edit*
So that went 2:3 and one of the wins was due to a disconnect. I did face some crazy decks, including a Warlock with three Imp Gang Boss, Doomguard, Abyssal Enforcer, Power Overwhelming etc. and a warrior (who was somehow at 2:2) with 2 Death's Bite, Arcanite Reaper, Fiery War Axe, Execute and so forth. Frustrating.
