Hello, I just came back to the game after a little break, and got a message on login that went something like: "Hallow's end is coming in 5 days. Make sure to finish your arena games!"
I'm not sure what exactly is happening (just came here to look, is there an article about that on Hearthpwn?), but I guess the existing arena runs are being replaced with something else.
Okay, cool, that's great. But i have a question: I have an arena run where i only "started" the arena run before, but haven't even picked which hero to play with (out of the 3 the game offers). Will that "arena run" also be removed when the Hallow's end event goes live next week?
Just scroll down to the third section: Hallow's End.
Now as far as the retired runs, any run that's currently going when Hallow's End begins will be autoresigned. Note that you'll get whatever rewards you earned at the wins you got (that includes if yo ugot 0 wins due to not playing any matches) AND you'll get a free arena ticket due to them autoresigning you. Note that you also get free arena tickets for logging in during the event and they do stack (so you can get both the ticket for logging in and the ticket for having a run resigned).
While I haven't been able to dump serious analysis on this, the word on the street is that it's advantagous to just leave an arena running uncompleted and let the system resign it so you get the reward + a free ticket on top of it. Another alternative is to go ahead and play the arena run but stop at 2 losses so you don't risk the third loss, then just let it sit.
I'm not 100% SURE about if you didn't even pick a hero. In theory it should retire, but when ti comes to bug avoidance, it's always best to avoid 'odd' situations like them not planning for a person to be at the hero selection screen on Hallow's End. So to be safe, go ahead and select the hero and the cards real quick and either let it sit at 0/0 or, if you want, play it till 2 losses. Avoids the .01% chance of oddness.
Oh wow, thank you for a detailed response :) I had somewhat of a 'trivial' question, and didn't expect such a kind response like yours :)
Welcome to the Arena forum, where we're (almost) always friendly and willing to help... unless you provide incontrovertible evidence that you are a douche, in which case we will Eviscerate you. ;+)

The arena matter is due to them doing an arena event, Hallow's End. Details are on this link:

unless they want to be the best they can be.
