Monster Hunt Houndmaster Shaw Guide - The Witchwood
Hearthstone's Monster Hunt launches on April 26th at 10:00 am PDT, two weeks after The Witchwood's expansion release. This free, single-player mode allows you to choose from four experienced monster hunters, one of which being Houndmaster Shaw, the Royal Master of Hounds. In this guide, we'll tell you everything there is to know about Houndmaster Shaw's hero power, nemesis, and cards, as well as useful tips and tricks to help you conquer your foes.
Hero Information
- Houndmaster Shaw is an existing Hunter Legendary in the game.
- Lore (Source)
- A renowned hunter of criminal, beast, and monster, the man known as Houndmaster Shaw has humble roots. So humble, in fact, that he is rumored to have been raised by a pack of hounds on the streets of the city!
- The tracking ability of his prize hounds—Princess, Butch, and Bubba—as well as the shocking speed of his raids on thieves and smuggler’s dens, are the stuff of legend in the Gilnean underworld.

- Lore (Source)
- For as long as anyone in Gilneas can recall, there have been tales of a sinister crone in the woods who can grant one’s fondest desire—for the modest price of a human heart.
- It’s very likely that Glinda Crowskin is the mastermind behind the “Crowskin cult” that has sunk its claws into the city’s underbelly. Her deluded followers believe that Hagatha will grant them power in exchange for devotion.
- You'll need to defeat Glinda (along with the nemesis of every other hero) to unlock Hagatha.

This is the hunter that took me by far the most amount of time to complete. I ended up killing 71 bosses with him before ever facing Glinda, but I managed to one-shot her thankfully; however, I believe she is (rightfully) the hardest boss for him. I would suggest taking more of a control approach when constructing your deck and choosing treasures, because the Glinda fight is all about controlling the board.
A deathrattle heavy deck was what won it for me in the end, with the +2 health to all minions treasure and the Caltrops treasure. While I think the ones that buff your hounds are very strong, they never could kill any of the penultimate bosses. Hopes this helps!
