Still one day to go until I'm back home and can start to dvelve into this set.
The deck I've been most hyped about is mech or control warrior with Dr. Boom and the boomship. How has it performed so far? Does it seem good? Is warrior back?
Control Warrior with good start against aggro is still good warrior - we have like zoolock swarm meta(played like 5 of them in a row...). If you have enough counters then you should be good and we get something like Crystallizer for example so you can get 5 armour for 1 mana and use it with reckless flurry so in 4 mana total you deal 5 damage - aggro likes it? Surely (Kappa). I have a feeling when playing control warrior with Boom that I need to draw that hero card fast and I want to play it on 7th turn when board is clear or not that dangerous... without him turn by turn I am loosing resources to survive. Even if Boom's HP is random - you get awesome abilities for 2 mana. But that's mine opinion :P
I think Dr. Boom is quite amazing. Yes, if you play him on t7 and you are behind on the board he can be a bit rough to play. However, once he gets doing he is quite amazing. The mechs becomes so much stronger with rush e.g. Security Rover or Bull Dozer.
Havent played Control Warrior myself, but was playing some Zerek centered priest deck, and was just bopping every control warrior I played. Zerek Priest isn't necessarily a great deck, but if Zerek is in the meta in any fashion, he just makes life so difficult for control warrior.
I got to try it out quick as I just turned on roaming for like 20 minutes.
It looked good, it looked really good. I did lose against zoo lock, but that wasn't as much the deck being bad as me not pulling neither of my warpaths or brawls.
I feel it is good, but needs refining. Warrior has always had great aggro control tools, and Dr. Boom and Omega Assembly are value monsters. Dead Man's Hand and Azalina Soulthief mean it can outlast almost all decks.
For me, the thing it seems to struggle with is putting on pressure. I am planning to try a 'bigger' version with Boomship as a finisher, maybe it will help.
Hard to say because most people are playing around the hero power. I had "deal 1 damage to all enemies" next turn and my opponent fills his board with 1/1 sparks for Bloodlust otk.
