I just got to R5 this season in a winning streak from R15 with my own made Tempo Yogg Secret Mage and the final boss to it was a Token Shamy. I was on 2 health and he had 6 minions and the claws on board, I only had my Crystal Runner and an Arcane Giant. With nothing on my hand I drew the Allmighty Yogg. He casted 2 Holy Novas and healed me a put 3 secrets in play. HE casted over 13 spells all beneficial towards me. He won me the game. I love Yogg man. (Sry for bad english if any, not native speaker). OMG I'm so happy. What makes it better was that he was BMing and emoting maliciously the whole game. :)
I've just finished a super frustrating 9-3 Arena run with Paladin. The last game was over at like turn 5 because I was unable to deal with Flesheating Ghoul. Had I gone first in that game, the outcome would've probably been different.
However, one of my rewards was the almighty Malygos. And I'm not salty anymore. :) I've always want to toy around with Maly decks, but was hesitant to craft him. Can't wait to play him!!!
Just had a rather fun game against a Jade Druid who despite battling back and forth did not have an answer for my well protected Lyra. Before he was able to kill my Lyra, I got the following:
Mind Control x 2 - Shadow Word: Death x 3
^ Those scores coupled with the 1 Mind Control and the 2 Shadow Word: Death spells in my deck already gave me a rather formidable late game answers to his never ending army.
Eliminated Jades 6/6 - 10/10 with all the SW:D spells.
Took Jades 11/11, 12/12 and 13/13 with all the Mind Controls.
Got uber fast rank 5 with the list posted below. 4 hours from rank 12 to 5. A lot of interesting games with a lot of decision making. No more quest rogue - much better ladder.
Just another fun game with Summoning Stone Mage. happened to get two out before by turn 6 (thanks to molten reflection) - I love it when they hover over the card for a few seconds because it is the first time they encounter it:
I get a quest mage down to 1 health, but Ice Block prevents me from finishing them off. I hope that they haven't assembled all the pieces of their combo, but it's unlikely as they only have three cards left in their deck. No luck. I start preparing myself for death as soon as they play the first Sorcerer's Apprentice. They also play a secret, presumably another Ice Block. On their extra turn Antonidas comes out. They have one card left in their deck. Then they play Arcane Intellect, draw their last card, take one point of fatigue damage, and die. It was the most beautiful end to a game I've ever experienced.
I actually managed to beat a Quest Warrior as Quest Mage. It was a close game.
And to think I almost conceded right from the start.
Not here to take your pepper but just out of curiosity: that matchup isn't that unfavored, is it?
Actually i would say that quest mage is favoured in that matchup, the warrior can pray for a good rat or try to outtempo the mage else its GG.
Maybe for a good player. But for me, the match was for sure in his favor. And it was not an easy win by any means. Hence my pepper.
******
But since I am in this thread, I managed to beat Jade Druid yesterday with that same deck. Not sure if that was in my favor, but his jades were at thirteen, and it took TWO Yoggs an Ice Block, and using Alexstrasza on him to win.
Mini salt about it because Jade Druid in Casual? Really? Felt good to beat him with exact lethal from hand.

90+% of my Casual games this past month were against top-tier decks like Jade Druid and Aggro Shaman. Try not to think too much about it in terms of saltiness... but be proud when you actually win with your non-meta decks like your Quest Mage, whether your aforementioned ones were "favored" or not ^^
Thank you so much for this, I mostly thought of it this way as well.
I've really been enjoying an elemental rogue deck that relies on lots of bounce and duplicates being created, and while it excels at long term minion combat, it's got a super weak opening and I maybe only win one out of every 3 games, but it's so FUN to play that I don't care 95% of the time.
Tried out jade rogue with the elemental package. (Jade Spirit is now an elemental and there is a huge chance to discover it with Servant of Kalimos because it's the only class elemental for rogue)
First game, not only did I beat a JADE DRUID, but I got my elemental quest done in just one game! I played 6 jade spirits that game :D (2 discovered, 1 bounced, one copied with Shadowcaster, 2 from the deck)
Now before you think how lucky I was to discover 2 jade spirits from 2 servants. One of them actually missed but I used shadowcaster on it. and played it again. I also need to mention how handy shadowcaster is for elemental activation.
I'm telling you, jade spirit being an elemental is a game changer for jade rogue.
I have opened 2 classic Legendaries (not golden) - both are kind of useless
got 10 wins on druid with hungry crab. new arena anti-paladin meta :D
... and sorry for my english

When your opponent swarm shaman kills your Doomsayer but attacks face with the last minion without checking for Redemption, then concedes.
