Well i just played a couple of games. Considering that Oil rogue is the only viable deck out there, i would say that it is completely dead in current meta.
How the hell do I handle aggro?
Ps. I cant play aggro rogue because whenever i play an aggro deck, in the middle of the game i somewhy start vomiting all around.
Even with LOE i can't see any place for Anub in the game... Im pretty sure Blizzard finally ruined rogue. Imo there will never be a control rogue cause it's cards are all designed for combo. Same situation with hunter, he cant be control class cause his cards and his ability is for aggro play.
Rogues been doing better his past week for me. Mostly good match ups, with Midrange and Secret pally being everywhere, and Reno hype has mostly made Face face face vanish from ladder.
Not every class needs a control deck. Infact Blizz needs to make sure that every class DOESN'T have a control deck. Also Anub is just a shitty card, no way around that.

I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.

Anub'arak exists so that Rogue won't be entirely dead in a hypothetical Control meta. You can just put him in to at least hope for a chance in a longass control game.
Been playing a Pirate Rogue deck...it's decent, but dependent on draw and being able to have minions out quickly. It suffers late game though. It does have some good synergies, it is just that there are stronger decks with other heroes right now. Not dead, but needs help.
Wait for LOE is fully out because roque is getting some interesting deathrattle cards and combo's like [card]Unearthed Raptor[/card] + Anub'arak and [card]Tomb Pillager[/card] also seems like a decent card. Looks like roque is getting a more control game / ramp style.
Tomb Pillager is a turn4 4 health card in a game that has 100 different ways to deal 4 damage on turn 4-5. ...no, the coin isnt worth playing a card like that.
I have heard about this supposed Unearthed Raptor + Anub'arak combo before... Have you people really thought this through? What are you really saying? How likely is it that you'll have Anub'arak and Unearthed Raptor in hand... and then play Anub'arak turn9+... it will then somehow survive a turn (!) and then you'll copy its deathrattle... ? ...and if thats the case isnt it more likely that you allready are winning the game by A LOT regardless of Unearthed Raptor being there? This Unearthed Raptor + Anub'arak combo thing is obvious non-sense.
Unearthed Raptor could be used in a mid-ranged deahtrattle rogue deck though with eggs and such, how good will it be? I have no idea.
That said, this week oil rogue is pretty good. Not the most powerful deck but it's up there in the top8. It was the weeks before this that it was close to the lowest of the low... close to the power-level of shamans.
Actually MrYagut has recently said that, and i quote him: "If you make a single mistake with Oil rogue right now you just lose the game". So, i know that clueless people like to say: "Oh look at MrYagut/Ostkaka hitting no.1/taking the hs championship" but it's not as simple as that to determine the powerlevel of a deck.

Yeah that is true, but calling a class or deck out, just because someone isnt able to play it correctly is also too simple. you can say like "shaman and rogue are basicly dead on ladder, because you rarely see them, compared to the other classes" now that may be true, but on the other hand saying that it wasn´t possible to build a rogue or shaman deck that could compete on ladder in the right hands is wrong.
Do you even know what making no mistakes at all means? Decks of high power level are forgiving, their power-level compensates for the mistakes made. You can even make a shaman deck that competes on ladder (Yagut does it often) in the right hands. How is that relevant to anything? Is it relevant to the power level of shamans? :/
rogue is not dead, is just too hard for regular ppl to play! im atm top 100 legend EU with a miracle rogue! YES, its the old miracle rogue with just an emperor and a healbot differently than the old one!
Nobody plays rogue because its the hardest class in the game... and its super weak atm!
if u don't believe me just ask me and ill send u my id and u can play against me
(im not sayingg i win all games i wish lol, i just try hard and feel confident with the deck.)
Why? Unearthed Raptor would be disgusting in anything but rogue so in rogue it has to be at least really good.
I like the raptor, it's got that combo feeling without actually being a combo card. :D
It feels usable but not overpowered. if you have to slap it on an empty board, which will happen, it will just be a 3/4 for 3. snatching up the egg deathrattle though, that's definately something. How good is rogue as a class at activating something like the nerub egg anyway? can't compete with P.O.+Void Terror of course...
They have Cold Blood and that's about it. Although I guess no one's going to bother removing the egg, so it'd also be a decent target for Oil.
So i havent played as rogue for a while now...

Unearthed Raptor is coming out this week, so there's hope.
Release the Kraken!

And then on Thursday we get the Raptor.

We'll see with the expansion. Don't be so absolute until we test the cards...

I think Rogue is in the best spott since months and all just because of Reno, people just havent realised yet how broken he is with shadowstep.
I stuck all the decent pirates I had into a rogue deck and it didn't seem too bad.
It's still aggro though.

I can see rogue coming to action with the new cards. Besides if the meta really is going heavy control with Reno, then Anub ftw.

Rogue is actually pretty good now.
