I have very close to a full set of cards across every expansion. I enjoy playing all classes and want to have the strongest deck I can make for each one. Until I am able to make more than 9 decks I will not be taking the time to make sub-par decks so that other players have a better chance of beating me. Keeping track of and changing around decks takes more effort than I believe is fair to expect people to make weak decks for essentially the purpose of winning less. Also, the rewards we get for playing aren't exactly bountiful. Earning that extra 20 gold in a play session, using a deck I worked hard for and enjoy playing, and not having to worry about losing stars so that I can't progress my rank are all more important than making sure others can win with crappy decks to me.
Either way this shows me that you care way too much for that number next to your hearthstone nickname, and you have no qualms about ruining someone else's game to keep it.
Let's talk about this line for a second. The whole point of casual is to play without losing stars in ranked, that is the whole point. So someone playing casual mode for the reason it was intended now automatically cares way too much for the number next to their hearthstone nickname? That's some real solid logic there. I guess someone using a comb to brush their hair cares too much about how their hair looks.
Casual mode is not meant to be the game mode that you want it to be.
I do this occasionally when I have to play on my college campus with spotty wifi. As much as I do not take ranked seriously nothing is more frustrating than losing a ranked game to a disconnect. Play the Tavern Brawl if you dont wanna lose to top tier decks.

Just so you don't think I'm arrogant enough to think I should be the one who decides how people play this game I'll concede this to you: yes, casual mode was implemented into the game to allow players to play basically the same mode as ranked, but without their rank on the line.
This doesn't change the fact that there are exactly two kinds of people who play casual:those who go there to have fun and take a break from serious play in ranked, and those who go there to whore wins by taking advantage of the other players. Are they going against the game rules or should they be banned for doing so? No, not really. Like you said, they are merely using the mode to their benefit in a completely "legitimate" way. Does this makes them dickheads who suck at this game and need to resort to this to get some sort of gratification from playing it because they can't win games consistently against actual decks in ranked mode in my eyes? Yes, yes it does. And as a side note it also means they don't really feel like improving, although I guess that is down to the individual's mindset with online games.
By the way, I would like to point out this is directed at people who use casual to farm gold and hardly ever play ranked after they hit a certain rank, not people who play the odd game in casual because they have other priorities, may have to disconnect from the game at any time and are just playing to pass the time, which I think is completely understandable.

It's tedious to change decks around and in no way has it ever been implied in the game or by Blizzard that we should place any restrictions what-so-ever on decks we use in casual mode. You've simply pulled what you think should be the purpose of casual mode out of your ass and you are bitter that others haven't pulled this nonsensical idea out of their asses too. Sorry Princess, you don't get to dictate how others play their game and you aren't so precious that I'll inconvenience myself for you. If there were more deck slots or a play mode that didn't offer rewards I might understand playing lesser decks. While I have to deal with the hassle of changing decks and earn less rewards for doing so, don't count on me or a large chunk of the player base to do as you please. Don't be so convinced that everyone that plays good decks in casual sucks at the game, you've been told many reasons why that probably is not the case.

If you have put that much effort into copying those decks from hearthpwn *cough cough* I mean making and improving them, shouldn't you be trying to get a decent rank with them in ranked rather than playing against people that still have basic cards and are trying to learn the game and people who are just trying to have fun? Of course, if your deck is something like pirate priest and you are trying to make it work, that's different. When I say "serious" decks I'm talking about actual meta decks that you see on the run to legend, of which I see a ton of in casual and are mostly never created by the person who is playing them.
8. They don't share your delusion that Casual mode is for "fun decks" only.
This much is obvious. It is for people trying to have fun, and the dickheads who can't win games in ranked that I had previous alluded to :) ok, and the guy playing the odd game on his way home on the bus.
Now please, do explain to me why someone would prefer playing a "serious" deck in casual rather than ranked if not because it is simply easier to win, as that seems to be the question you are running away from. And by the way, if anyone reading this topic is or has ever been rank 5 or above(the point at which I actually start taking you seriously as a decent hearthstone player) and still often goes to casual with serious decks, feel free to let us know.

I play decks that are competitive on ladder in casual to get used to the deck. See how the opening hands go a few times, get a feel if it needs more card draw, get an idea of how the curve works out, get an idea of what cards I can spam out and what I should hold etc.
Then, once I am comfortable with the deck and have a better idea of how games will play out in my head I will take it onto ladder. Perfect example: I want to play more freeze mage on ladder, but I am not a great freeze mage player as it is not my typical style. Before I jump onto ladder I wanna play it 10-15 times in casual. As long as my opponents don't totally suck, it's a decent way to get a feel for the deck.
Also, you have people with limited time on their hands who need to complete quest wins as fast as possbile, so they jump in casual for the wins with a class they play that is optimal - or if the quest is for a class they don't play, they make a teir 1 deck to have the highest chances since they are not that good with the class to get the quest wins (especially when you need 5).
SO... you see teir 1-2 decks in casual, and its perfectly justified.

While it doesn't particularly bother me if people do it for this purpose, I think playing casual isn't a very good way of coming to grips with a deck, especially one as intricate as freeze mage. If you want to get better with it, you should be using it against actual players. I say this because I used to do it myself, until I realized it was a massive waste of my time.
I was against using any ladder-ready decks in Casual before. Nowadays all I face in casual are god teir decks - Secret palas, aggro shammys, renolocks, you name it. IDK, might be a MMR thing. Whenever I face a dude with actual basic deck I just concede, 'cause I don't want to crush his soul.
Overall, I don't care about the name, it's just a nonranked mode that I can play while simultaneously browsing internet or watching a movie or even playing something else and not caring. At the same time, I don't want to play 10 games to get 2 wins for my daily, ergo I use whatever is the best deck I have for that class.
I know you mum have told you are the best at everything in the world, and it is okay.
But you are not the center of the world kiddo. This must come as a huge surprise to you.
Dry your eyes and tell mommy to give you at cookie and tell you that everything will be fine
It is just a game...
In a few years you are gonna find out than there is something called "girls" and they are a lot more fun to play with.
So get out of the basement kid. get out, have some fun, cheer up :)
My basement is fine. It's cosy, and I have recently managed to become friends with the rat that sits on my lap when I play hearthstone and likes to steal my doritos. Everybody knows girls have coodies, so I tend to try to stay away from them, as my lack of exposure to sunlight has made me more prone to illness than most people.
It's so cool to make stereotypical remarks about people you don't know over the internet right? Well here's a tip: me and my girlfriend had our second aniversary last December, I work as a programmer IRL, which means I probably do more useful work in my life than you will ever will and I just happen to enjoy having fun with hearthstone in my free time.
Since my personal life isn't yours, or anyone else's business I suggest we go back on topic, or you go back to working on getting to rank 15 this season.
Casual is where you go to not be judged about what deck you're playing.
I expect you not to laugh at my Mech Malygos Warrior as much as me not to be mad at your Secret Paladin.
Agree with this. "Casual" definition: withoutdefiniteorseriousintention;carelessoroffhand;passing:
Casual is a good place to go if you don't want to get pissy and get on the interweb to put the world on notice of your displeasure with reality. Worry about what you want to play, and if you have fun beyond that, that's on you.
If you want to play against opponents in Casual who aren't playing to win, then a few good losses to top tier decks will help reduce your MMR and put you closer to that goal.
I do this occasionally when I have to play on my college campus with spotty wifi. As much as I do not take ranked seriously nothing is more frustrating than losing a ranked game to a disconnect. Play the Tavern Brawl if you dont wanna lose to top tier decks.

1. Only 9 deck slots.
2. Changing decks is tedious.
3. Constantly tweaking decks for ranked.
4. Get less rewards for playing worse decks.
5. Want to quickly finish a quest.
6. They enjoy playing the deck they worked hard to make.
7. They don't like playing ranked.
8. They don't share your delusion that Casual mode is for "fun decks" only.

top tier decks have high win rate, easy gold and faster to get the quests done
