Funny how a lot of cards in this game have some cases when they are extremely overpowered. Yet people still play it because they like the gambling highrolls.
There are only a couple of classes that don't have an answer for when DK drops this. With the advent of ETC, grabbing that Smothering Starfish is a perfect utility for this.
Try winning by populating a board with fat minions at turn 10, and you will soon learn something about this game.
While you are right with half of the cards on this list, you cannot just add unplayable cards just because they counter or answer marrowgar. It's not a good idea to add some very weak cards to answer a deco you almost never face.
This is a player skill issue. If you’re aggro kill your opponent before 10. If you’re unable to do that or playing control include cards to counter this type of situation in your deck.
I play marrowgar and while it is good in some matchups it is often countered in practice by a variety of meta decks, and it's nowhere near the strongest winrate card when played or drawn in the deck.
You often have to play it too early with not many corpses because it was a dead card in your hand the whole game and stopped you from developping your board optimally.
And some other matchups it's not even needed to win if you had a strong curve.
Overall a pretty decent card, not worthy of a nerf at all

Outside of Deathwing the Destroyer, these are all playable. I would have to agree with the combos like the Hunter answers... but the other ones are all viable. Anyone not running Smothering Starfish as an ETC target isn't playing to dominate the meta.
Lord Marrowgar
100% of the times when opponent plays this it is GG.
You are forced to include Dirty Rat in your deck and you are not even sure it will work.
Ridiculous and disgusting
Whirlpool

I see an aggro player complaining about the lack of control cards in his deck
Let me name the counters in Standard: Shadow Word: Ruin, Twisting Nether, Brawl, Deathwing the Destroyer, Holotechnician + any 1-damage dealer, Lightbomb, Urchin Spines + a couple of Shellshot or Ricochet Shot, Soulstealer, Whirlpool, Shard of the Naaru, Smothering Starfish, or, finally, Doomsayer + mass freeze.

I can’t imagine not playing ETC with starfish. Especially with the prevalence of paladins running around.
