And the bitching will lead to more good changes which will lead to even more bitching which will finally lead to Utopia and mankind colonizing the Galaxy!
That does seem to be the mentality.
As usual, the reality lies in the middle. Of course Blizzard wouldn't change anything if no one registered a complaint. But, if everyone had been like the Zeddys and the screechers who had made claims way outside of the realm of reality, that would have given them cover to just dismiss the obviously hyperbolic minority and ignore the legitimate problem.
But I give it about 30 more minutes before someone comes up with some napkin math about how this is a horrible change because it requires that people actually play the game to get their rewards and how dare they?
Anyway, thanks to the powers that be at Blizzard AND thanks to the levelheaded, reasonable folk who registered complaints based on reality and actual evidence.

I feel you. You commit a cardinal sin if you so much as say thanks for a step in the right direction.
In any case, I just hope they don't mess up retroactively increasing the rewards for those of us who have already passed the levels of the reward track these changes are affecting.

Blizzard gives an inch and everyone acts like everything's fixed. Am I the only one who remembers that they are adding three 35 card mini-sets per year? That's 105 cards in total, almost an entire added expansion of cards. While that's great in terms of content, it is a drastic increase in the cost of the game without any indication that their will be rewards to ease that cost. A 20% increase to the experience track doesn't fix this, it only slightly fixes a crappy system to bring it in line with what we had before without even accounting for the mini-sets. If calling Blizzard out on their BS is considered "bitching" by some, I will gladly continue bitching until Blizzard stops being so damn greedy.
So they basically gave us what they "forgot" to give us this expansion 500g and some packs. 100gold in TP progress. And reduced Tavern pass like for 6 levels or so ? This is basically nothing. Game still remains too expensive and it doesent have instant gratification of old gold quests. Cards are too expensive dust wise to make and yield nothing. And this is what i and many other people have been telling people even before pass was a thing. They will take stuff away that were "free" and drip feed us till we comply. Now is the perfect time to continue "bitching" as someone eloquently put it in this post and try to make em yield to fix this game once and for all.

I asked this in another thread and no one answered. I guess I'll try it here. What behavior do you expect from a corporation that you aren't getting from Blizzard or Activision? Seriously, I'm genuinely curious. What do folks expect to see that they aren't seeing? Preferably something specific, as opposed to "don't be greedy".
Also, is there any reason to believe the mini-set will be a fixture for all sets to come? I missed that announcement if there was one.

Is that really a change...?
This is like when your dog is being good (always!) but you’re running low on treats, you break the treats in half.

Not sure where it was originally stated but found this from a Polygon article: "From here on out, every expansion will have a “mini-set” that arrives halfway through the expansion’s cycle, with an additional set of new cards that help balance and round out the original roster. These mini-sets can be bought or crafted."
As for the behavior I expect from Blizzard, you have a fair point. Most companies have no reason to be overly generous to their consumers. However, I believe that Blizzard is slowly killing Hearthstone through their monetization. There is a difference between being overly generous and simply having a healthy economy for you game that leave your customers satisfied with their experience with your product. There are several small changes Blizzard could make to make the game feel infinitely better such as adjusting the dust economy or letting you discover the legendary you open from packs (Gwent does this). Ultimately, I love Hearthstone and I wish it was more accessible to more people and I think that would also benefit Blizzard as well.
So they basically gave us what they "forgot" to give us this expansion 500g and some packs. 100gold in TP progress. And reduced Tavern pass like for 6 levels or so ? This is basically nothing. Aaaand here we go. You guys complain, Blizzard makes some changes, and you're still not satisfied. "Too expensive"? Says who? I play numerous decks, and spend all of about $75/ year. It's a bargain.
And the fact that you require "instant gratification" is just sad. Are you so immature that you require instant gratification? That is literally the position a toddler would take. Or is the problem that you, like most of your comrades, want to be given everything on a silver platter and think that if you keep whining, someone will give in? It might work on Mommy and Daddy, but those of us who live in the grownup world know better.
Thanks for the links, Gentleman. I was unaware they had made that a recurring thing.
The $180 feels a little much given that the 135 card set can be had for $200, but I haven't checked the math carefully, so can't state anything for sure. Regardless, though, I have to admit the mini-set phenomenon is going to get old.

Go fuck yourself. Now that i got that out of the way i was comparing how a new system feel. U get points and like theres nothing for doing a quest, It feels bad. 75 per year ? Dude i am not gonna spend a dime on this game. Btw 75 ? that is bullshit. U know it and i know it. I am not obligated to work for a video game that will "pay" me 1 dolar per hour with a pretense of "F2P". "those who live in a grown up word ?" Dafuck ? Are u that damaged not to see when a cheap parlor trick is being played in front of u ? I would suggest "want to be given everything on a silver platter" OK BOOMER. No like for real u sound like that. As for the silver platter u dont have a let to stand on there either cuz this shit was , and hear me out ALREADY IN A GAME before new expansion. Game was always shitty as far as monetization goes and this is unique opportunity to give that much bad PR to Activision-Blizzard that their shareholders will start to question why are they loosing money. Bargain my ass 75 dollars and u still dont have ALL cards or deck ? I spend 20 dollars on LoR and got almost all cards.
LOL people are talking like this is some vast capitulation by Blizzard. All they have done is move the XP from planned bonus events and put it on the main track. You are not going to end up with any more rewards.

Wow, you're totally changing my mind with your careful logic, coherent argumentation, and (especially) f-bombs. They totally make you sound like a big boy. Here's a tip: try punctuation. And maybe don't work "like" into, like, every, like, sentence, like.
Are you doubting that I spend $75/ year? I'm pretty sure I know what I spend better than you. And why would I want all the cards? This point keeps coming up, and it makes absolutely no sense. In any given expansion of 135, how many actually see play? My guess is less than 20%. How many decent legendaries are there? At most half of them are worthwhile (at least in some deck), and that's pushing it.
"I am not obligated to work for a video game that will 'pay' me 1 dollar per hour with a pretense of 'F2P'." You're not working: you're playing. My point is that I spend less than $0.25 per day on this game. It's totally worth it to me. You, on the other hand, seem to think that you should get something for, again, PLAYING A GAME. If you aren't having fun playing HS (and it sounds like you're not), why would you bother? If you enjoy LoR, go play it. But demanding that Blizzard change their entire approach to earning a profit because you have convinced yourself that HS is too expensive is typical of your toddler mentality.
And, I hate to break this to you but Activision is not, by any stretch of the imagination, "loosing" money. It is an extremely profitable company and I'm quite certain most of its shareholders are very satisfied with its performance. And I'm pretty sure your deranged rant isn't going to change their minds.
some people trying to frame voicing disregard towards something you disregard is a bad thing, it is what everyone needs to do, to a moderate extent of course and this is a great example, if everyone acted as if they where happy about something they where not then nothing would have happened... if you are too emotionally harmed by seeing people fighting then we got a phrase for you, if you cannot handle the smoke in the kitchen, get out

Big talk coming from a guy who calls anyone who disagrees with him a shill for Blizzard and insisted that they are "defending Blizzard greed" rather than simply expressing a different view of the fair monetary value of the game. We have a word for people like that: hypocrites.
I think this is a step in the right direction! If the pass was even wrt the pass rewards system, now its going to be better for sure! I also think the change of the exp from events to the track itself is very positive, since it is a known exp quantity, constant ovr the expansion cycle. Definitely a step in the right direction. Thank you Blizzard!
People always act as though everyone on the internet is both intelligent and educated, and if they can't be bothered to complete sentences or spell words properly, it's not because they are idiots. It's just that they have more important things to deal with than grammar. I get it, I really do. But statistically speaking, at least a few of those posts are just made by bona fide morons. I don't claim to know which is which on an individual level, but if I were a betting man, I feel like I could make a few bucks off that MexRNG post.
Yepapa, you have called me out for "smart shaming" despite me doing no such thing, but it's getting really hard to not after that MexRNG post.
I can't remember if it was you or Popeye that reminded me I should dumb down my vocabulary because 10 year olds play this game, but damn, what a hell of an object lesson to prove it.
Yes Mex, "go fuck myself BOOMER!" and all that. I already know. Jesus, I wish I could claim that generation at this point. It's getting embarrassing to be a millennial.
On the subject of the changes, one thing that I actually could agree with the napkin mathers was that it was going to be all but impossible to reach level 150 under the original system. I'm going to be interested to see exactly how much they spread out the xp requirements, and therefore what level it is actually possible to reach under a reasonable amount of play making allowances for job and sleep and such.
Different people can and will spend very different amounts of time on the game, but I never thought it was my right to hit max level without playing the game quite a bit. However, if it is still the case that even a 10-hour a day streamer is not going to hit max level, then it will be reasonable to evaluate these changes based on what is actually possible to attain, rather than what is the sum total of offered rewards.
Of course, we still can't get a full answer because we have no idea how many other chances there will be to get xp from other events and sources, so there will still be bad faith low guesses and argument. But, that's what the forums are all about, amirite?

Pointed out on Twitter this was a good change.
Got a response from some rando with a picture of someone licking a boot.
Hearthstone could literally pay players to open packs and they'd still find room to complain about it.
