For some this is probably obvious, but I'd like to point out that all of these are herbs you can collect in World of Warcraft. I know a lot of people who play Hearthstone don't play WoW so I just thought I'd explain the weird names.

Listen  Patriot1776, this is the last I'll say on this.

I, personally, didn't mean to attack you, though I do dislike the condescending tone with which you address others as it adds nothing to your arguments. How you spend your money is completely up to you. I voice my grievances with the game not because I hate it, but because I love it. I want to see it be the best it can be, and I believe that every suggestion I make would help it meet that end. Ultimately, these are exactly just that: suggestions. I may be wrong, I may be right, honestly I don't know for sure. I just hope that Blizzard takes suggestions and thoughts from players into consideration for the betterment of the game.

Obviously we disagree on how Blizzard should do business, but that does not excuse rude behavior, from any party.

    I wish you the best.

ideally, you want cards for practically nothing is what you really mean. I'm sorry to inform you that will not happen to the crafting system. As far as dust is concerned I got a free golden high abbess today because I had two regular copies. Seeing as how I have every card in the game because I have played since closed beta Im sitting on 100K+ dust and a 70% complete golden collection. The new RT system will have me at roughly 160 free packs when the Barren releases plus the 145 from both preorders plus the extra 120 packs from the three bundles I buy. 425 packs opening on release day will give me boatloads of entertainment value and the best meta decks in solid gold.

As much as evryone would like things for free I'm sorry but that has to end at some point. Blizzard could give evrything away and people would still complain.

The new system benefits people who spend money to support the game the most, as it should, but it also has greatly benefitted people who dont spend a dime.

The continued begging for more free stuff is pretty degrading to those who do it and very insulting to those who have to listen to it.

When will anything be enough for some of these people is a question that has only once answer....NEVER.

    Good Luck with your time!

Perhaps a whale like you is happy spending hundreds of dollars each year on Hearthstone, but most people are not. It does not invalidate their opinion or allow people like you to talk down to them. A triple A game with years of development and 60+ hours of content is worth $60 , now probably $80 with next gen consoles. Meanwhile, in Hearthstone, you spend $80 dollars and you can't even get a full expansion, of which three are released each year, now with mini-sets. And I think it's fairly evident that Blizzard does not put as much effort into an expansion as a game studio puts into a triple A title. Also, I clearly stated that I was fine with them refusing to budge on the dust system as long as they were plain about it and didn't try to sugar-coat it. I don't see how that's asking for handouts. I understand that Blizzard has a bottom line, and can't be expected to hand out everything for free. I just think that they can just do a bit better than they currently are.

    What do you want changed?

Ideally, I would like them to tweak the dust economy to make it better for players. At the very least, I'd them to be plain and just say that they have no intention of changing it without adding all the other bs like the free deck and free core set to make it seem like they've done stuff for us when they really haven't. The only really great thing they've gotten right was duplicate protection, though honestly I think that should have been in place from launch. The new rewards track is also pretty good now that they fixed it after the initial backlash.

posted a message on Dust Economy Rant (in response to today's Blizzcon Q&A )

During today's Q&A, some of the developers were asked if there were any plans to change how the dust economy works. Game Director Ben Lee's answer to this question has pissed me off and I need to rant about it. If you're tired of negativity don't read, I just really need to get this off my chest.

The first part of Lee's response was to mention the meta-viable deck that were given to returning players. In fact, it seems all he focused on was new or returning players, and didn't give a thought to long-time players. For example, I don't know much about those decks that were given out, as I (like many players) didn't get one. However, I can't imagine they're actually that great since the Hearthstone team is constantly making balance changes (which is a healthy thing for the game but still poses problems) that shake up the meta. How long will those meta-relevant decks be relevant at all? If you got evolve shaman a few weeks ago I'm sure you'd be pretty pissed now.

The second thing Lee mentioned was the generosity of the core set that would be given to all players. But this is misleading because the core set is not a gift, it is compensation. It's compensation for the removal of the basic and classic sets as we knew them. Sets that we were promised would permanent. I'm not saying that rotating them isn't the right move, on the contrary, I think it's a great idea that will be healthy for the game, but I refuse to let them act like proper compensation is a gift of generosity.

Lee concluded with saying that the dust economy (which hasn't changed since the game launched, would not be changed. What bull.

posted a message on Just me a bit disappointed by the theme of the expansion?

I 100% agree with this sentiment. A quillboar expansion (what I was expecting from the teaser) supplemented with a barrens background would be so much more flavorful and in-line with Hearthstone. I mean, what's next? Swamp of Sorrow, Feralas, Eastern Plaguelands followed by Western Plaguelands? Are we just throwing a dart at the Azeroth map for expansions? A zone helps add flavor to an expansion, but cannot carry it on it's own. Gadgetzan/Tanaris was tied to a gangster theme. Un'goro focused heavily on themes of dinos, elementals, and adaptatation. Without any additional themes the new expansion just feels generic and boring.  Also, the new keyword is just as boring as the expansion theme. It's essentially Enrage but with a new coat of paint. The teaser had gotten me so hyped but what we got has been what I see as the biggest Hearthstone let down since I started playing in WotOG. The lack of a trailer song was the icing on the shitty cake.

I asked this in another thread and no one answered.  I guess I'll try it here.  What behavior do you expect from a corporation that you aren't getting from Blizzard or Activision?  Seriously, I'm genuinely curious.  What do folks expect to see that they aren't seeing?  Preferably something specific, as opposed to "don't be greedy".

Also, is there any reason to believe the mini-set will be a fixture for all sets to come?  I missed that announcement if there was one.

Not sure where it was originally stated but found this from a Polygon article: "From here on out, every expansion will have a “mini-set” that arrives halfway through the expansion’s cycle, with an additional set of new cards that help balance and round out the original roster. These mini-sets can be bought or crafted."

Also, this article by hearthstonetopdecks goes into some detail and estimated that the cost of the new mini-sets adds $180 dollars of cost to the game if the rarities follow the Galakrond's Awakening mini-set:
    https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/hearthstone-mini-sets-will-refresh-the-meta-but-at-what-cost/

As for the behavior I expect from Blizzard, you have a fair point. Most companies have no reason to be overly generous to their consumers. However, I believe that Blizzard is slowly killing Hearthstone through their monetization. There is a difference between being overly generous and simply having a healthy economy for you game that leave your customers satisfied with their experience with your product. There are several small changes Blizzard could make to make the game feel infinitely better such as adjusting the dust economy or letting you discover the legendary you open from packs (Gwent does this). Ultimately, I love Hearthstone and I wish it was more accessible to more people and I think that would also benefit Blizzard as well.

Blizzard gives an inch and everyone acts like everything's fixed. Am I the only one who remembers that they are adding three 35 card mini-sets per year? That's 105 cards in total, almost an entire added expansion of cards. While that's great in terms of content, it is a drastic increase in the cost of the game without any indication that their will be rewards to ease that cost. A 20% increase to the experience track doesn't fix this, it only slightly fixes a crappy system to bring it in line with what we had before without even accounting for the mini-sets. If calling Blizzard out on their BS is considered "bitching" by some, I will gladly continue bitching until Blizzard stops being so damn greedy.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who sees the Ashes of Outland Felfire Festival song as the masterpiece it is.

Other than that, Blackrock Mountain always gives me chills. I love it so much, even if it's not quite a full song.

Finally, Rastakhan's Rumble is just too catchy to resist. (too bad the expansion itself sucked)

Honorable Mentions: Kobolds and Catacombs, Savior's of Uldum, The Witchwood
