I do not know about you but personally I like to PLAY the game whenever I queue up for a match, and that requires me to play the CARDS i put in my deck. How in all hell is this in any way something anyone can consider remotely fun?
certainly not someone playing against it: from your PoV the idiot you're facing went "me play card so you don't get to use your cool toys"
so...is it maybe fun to play?
DISCLAIMER: this is coming from the guy that LOVES to stop what the opponent is doing...my playstyle is "I can't lose if I don't let the other guy win" whatever I end up doing THIS is my philosophy,my motto,my mantra.
well the key part is: STOP not PREVENT
playing cards like this one (that discard or disrupt in general) goes against everything PLAYING a GAME stands for: you do not let someone play the game,AND you deny the opportunity to stop the BS from happening. Hell, as deep and rooted as my hatred for OTK/mill/infinite decks is (for similar reasons to these) I NEVER ONCE felt good about "dirty ratting" a combo piece or something...I mean, I won...cool I guess but i did nothing to "deserve" it (waiting for max probabilty doesn't count, you can still get fked by RNG in a way that is bad even for HS)
I know this was kinda all over the place and I am kind of in a hurry rn so...I hope it makes sense
the t.l.d.r. is "card bad 'cause stops you from playing YOUR cards and has no counterplay"
There's no functional difference between "STOP" and "PREVENT," though. If you STOP your opponent by killing their minion that's on the board, you're PREVENTING your opponent from attacking with them later. Or using the minion's activated effect. Which is, presumably, why they played the minion in the first place. If you STOP them from attacking your face by using your taunts, you're PREVENTING them from doing what they want ("hitting your face"). If you PREVENT them from drawing 5 cards, you STOP them from ... playing those cards.
Look, I'm with you in that I don't like uninteractive effects. Back in my Magic days, if it was clear that someone was playing a Counterspell deck, I just wouldn't play with them until they picked a new deck. It's not fun. But this guy? He has counterplay. The counterplay boils down to "run a deck that can afford to lose 5 cards." And I don't know about you, but most of my decks operate that way. Sure, it's a bummer if cards get burned, especially cards I like. But in the vast majority of games, you never draw your 25th card at all, let alone your 30th, so they might as well have been burned/Ticketed anyway, for all the value they offered in that game.
And if your game plan revolves around dragging your opponent to fatigue, then I've got news for you: Tickatus is the counterplay to YOUR plan.
It's hard to say, but if that's what you think, I recommend trying out a game called Gwent. You should remember it if you have played "Witcher III". However, it has changed significantly, so I recommend checking it out. In terms of strategy I think it is a significantly better than Hearthstone, as the randomness is reduced to almost 0 etc.
Anyway, since it's a hearthstone forum, I'd also like to concentrate on hearthstone, which sadly is becoming more and more random. I know this card can just become shit that's not used anywhere, but it's sole existance is frightening. OG Yogg was fun because it was one of the only "clown fiesta" cards in the game. If you look at the cards that are now in standard (and the Darkmoon revealed cards) almost each of them has some randomness (remember that even drawing cards is a kind of randomness). I know hearthstone is trying to create it's own genre with that, but at this point it's even difficult to call it a "card game".
Same shit whenever expansion cards are revealed. Have you not learned anything from Glide, Platebreaker, Mojomaster Jihi, and all other crap?
When paladin play a 11/11 for 2 manas or rogue give you 20 damage before turn 6 with steath package or druid can play 40 manas spells in turn 6 cards like Glide is really bad.
If the game become more combo/control then a card like Glide is a top tier, call Glide crap is the same call Harrison/Ooze crap because a weaponless meta.
Just look at it this way--be glad you aren't playing MTG. Hearthstone is extremely light on mill and disruption effects while other card games like MTG have entire archetypes around milling the opponent out while countering their spells and forcing them to discard their cards from hand.

This exactly. Warlock has been pretty bad for the past few sets so unless they have an actual win condition (and no, it's not playing mill with Tickatus and Felosophy and then playing new Y'shaarj to play the upgraded Tickatuses) and since Tickatus's effect hurts slow decks and the meta is fast, you won't actually have to worry about this card unless you're playing some weird control deck where you guarantee to draw out almost all your deck most games, in which case you probably have bigger problems.

People keep saying this about glide, but I'm willing to bet the card is just trash. I feel fairly confident that its a terrible card and will never see play, no matter what meta exists
Got to admit, I wasn't hyped for this expansion at all....... until TODAY !
Both Warlock legendarys are among the most interesting ones in recent years, and allow for some actual INTELLIGENT plays.
Disrupt Warlock wont be easy to maneuver either (not when compared to Monkey classes like DH or Pen Pala) but its decks like these that make you still want to play the game. Questlock already has had some potential, but was just too inconsistent, but with Deck of Chaos that issue has been fixed now.
With the genius addition of Tickatus however....OH BOY, now the fun is reaaally just getting started ! <3
Warlock is just my 3rd or 4th class right now, but at least i have most of the legendarys, this will be the most fun class to play along with Control Warrior.
I mean... milling is pretty random and not normally that good. How often does your deck actually draw down to its last five cards? If you don't get to the bottom of your deck, you just draw the next five cards in your deck instead of the top five and it isn't that big of a deal. The effect doesn't really stop you from playing the game unless it is actually something that can create an entire mill strategy, a few cards off the top of your deck feels kind of bad but in terms of the mechanics of the game doesn't normally mean much.
This mostly provides a way to get the advantage in late game control matchups, or as a counter to combo decks that intend to draw their entire deck and need several specific cards to win (which tend to be the least interactive decks in the game).

How is removing half the deck from your opponent NOT a solid Win condition ? :D
C'Thun or N'Zoth or the Quest Malygos OTK package can also be added for yet another Win Con if thats not enough...
Regarding being vulnerable against Smorc DH or Face Hunter, thats nothing new really, can't win all matchups tho.
This by the way can also disrupt Opponent's C'thun pieces, if they get removed only one single piece, their Summoning would already be rendered useless right? xD
that...thing needs to disappear

The legendary that has a warlock feel is a warlock legend im kinda shocked
I like the card. I hope there is a deck that can usr it.
Galavant Animation
i will try this card out probably in wild. Don't see a standard warlock deck that can support this card.

Mojomaster actually saw play in a few decks. Also switches in and outside of the meta in Wild.

Dazzle and dominate your foes as the Jewelcrafter!
Tickatus is a good answer to some of the really stupid decks out there like raza priest. Interactive cards are things we need more of, not less.
MILLING 5 CARDS DOES NOT WIN YOU THE GAME. STOP ASSUMEING THAT 5 CARDS LOST WILL WIN YOU THE GAME PLEASE.
It’s a tech card, plain and simple.

It's... really not that bad honestly. It's another form of control, and it's a pretty fair card that requires some setup.
