They have the best deck across all ranks in Murloc Paladin, which is still the 2nd highest winrate deck in legend, and a tier 3/fringe tier 2 deck in Pure/Libram Paladin. They certainly arent great, but they arent as garbage as everyone claims they are
Paladin will be 🔥🔥🔥after this expansion is released. They have so much more Midrange and Control tools available to them. They will be difficult to beat.
murloc paladin winrates have been skewed the entire expansion. If you look at top 1000 legend, murloc paladin is in tier 3. You can also look at any large tournaments and see that no players bring paladin in their line ups.
Thats what most ppl overlook. The watch HSreplays stats and think Paladin is good.....
While infact Paladin wasnt that bad before the nerfs aswell.... at below 1k Legend and anything outside of it. Same now, i saw a beginner streaming with pally and he was wrecking through the lower ranks like nothing despite huge misplays. But oh how he will get recked like no tomorrow when he reaches decent skilled players.
A few days ago I was arguing how competitive Murloc Paladin decks are and they were like "Maybe in low-ranked games, you idiot." After I posted this, no one replied. Clearly they are not in the legend rank and not even playing the game.
Also, you can't just say "this deck sucks because pros don't use it" because the strategies of professional players and that of regular ranked players are completely different in Hearthstone and any other online game. Rules are different in tournament matches, you know.
STOP DENYING FACTS. Stats don't lie. Earth is flat and Murlocs are competitive.
It really depends on what you define competitive to be. For some, it might be a deck that can get them to Legend. For others, it means a deck that can win at the highest levels, be it top 1,000 Legend or tournament play.
I agree that Murloc Paladin is a fine deck to pilot into legend AND it will get eaten alive (as others have said) once you reach top 1,000. It is an incredibly easy pilot with a low skill-cap, which is typical of hyper-aggro lists. Once you run into good players running refined lists who rarely misplay, win rates will drop below 50%. That's why almost no one plays it at high ranks and why it is not featured in winning tournament lineups.
You see here that Murloc Paladin represents less than 2% of all decks played in high legend. It also has an expected win rate that ranks 20th among all meta decks. That's pretty awful. Which is why you are going to get a lot of people disagreeing with you about it being a competitive deck.
You gotta know, most of all Hearthpwn users are in top 1000 legend and tournament veterans. And everyone here knows that the REAL game starts once you are in the current .01% of all players. That's why reaching legend or having a good winrate with Paladin on lower levels doesn't matter. At all. To anyone!
If your legend rank is 1008, you might as well be a literal baby playing on daddy's phone who got lucky a few times. Only once you are at 999 and better, you can consider yourself a "decent" player with "skills" who's granted the privilege to join the very serious and thoughtful discussions going on here. Unless you play the wrong class and deck of course. I shouldn't even have to mention this, but if you have a single win on your account with Hunter or even Demon Hunter, you are a brainless (as in, your brain must have been surgically removed) "aggro player", and nobody will ever take you seriously and you should probably uninstall the game.
And for the top 1000 players, the real players, with skills and brains and all that, it is obvious, undeniable fact, beyond doubt, and confirmed by his holiness, the pope himself, that Paladin is literally unplayable, the worst class in the game, and every single new Paladin card, even the unrevealed ones, are the worst of the entire expansion, just like in every expansion ever, and Paladin will remain the worst class for all eternity, as the skilled players have, in their boundless wisdom, have correctly deducted.
Sure, you might find that Paladin isn't all that bad right now, but you are not a top 1000 player, so your opinion doesn't matter to anyone. And you might find that some people exaggerate in their very mild and perfectly justified anger over recent Paladin card reveals, but they are absolutely in the right. They are among the top 1000 players after all. Ok, maybe not, but they totally would be, if Paladin wasn't so utterly horrible.

I love how they give new/returning players (after july 30th) the Highlander Hunter deck for free, good way to climb i see.
Paladin will be 🔥🔥🔥after this expansion is released. They have so much more Midrange and Control tools available to them. They will be difficult to beat.
Pally's had both midrange and control tools since forever. They question is whether they got a slower win condition (ie. not aggro) this time around? I'm not entirely convinced as of yet.

Well true paladin players want to play Ctrl or oven midrange when they think about paladin, not schummy murlocks. I mean, most of the time it is not about the winrate, but the feeling when ppl decide what to play. If i want "the paladin feeling", then it is not a murlock or face deck. Sure it can be Tier S, it is still not "a paladin deck" but some abomination, that has nothing to do with the class identity and shouldn't eve exist in the 1st place.
It's been said a couple of times in this thread already. But yeah, paladin had a bunch of good aggro or face decks the past couple of years. Also paladin had 2 OTK decks that were pretty good.
However, most paladin players like to play control or midrange (for me, the most fun paladin deck I ever played was the midrange pala during GvG). And support for these decks has been very minimal the last couple of years.
So even though paladin had pretty good decks, they didn't feel like real PALADIN decks to the average paladin player. They were low on flavor and mostly only good at 1 thing.
That said, as a main paladin player, I don't feel we have been left out in the cold last expansion. Pure Libram Paladin is a fun, flavorful, powerful and versatile deck to climb the ladder with. The newly revealed cards also look flavorful to me. The powerlevel remains to be seen, it's hard to judge since we have only seen about half of the cards so far.
Murloc paladin is not the best in legend due to what is played. Warrior eats Paladin alive due to Ridley armorsmith and most priest list that I play beat it as well. I’m currently climbing between 2k and 1.5k pretty casually I might push before the season is over to 1.2k for the extra bonus star for next month. I still have my OG secret Paladin deck all golden from the secrets to the mysterious challengers. I have dusted my Dr Boom after all of these years but my Lotheb remains. I miss even/odd Paladin too. Paladin always feels best when it’s a midrange deck that has a turn the corner turn. Like the ungoro midrange deck.

But shaman is trash tier too
I get legend playing just with paladin (librarian, pure) before the nerfs. I think the class is in a good state for now
Murloc paladin is bad at legend because it's easily countered and has a low skill ceiling
l
not true, it has the 2nd highest wr behind highlander hunter according to hsreplay

Yeah and that data is coming from matches played in bronze unless you pay for the premium version.
