Maybe the upcoming nerf to Scavenger's Ingenuity will help alleviate the annoyance of all these stonetusk boars being played by face hunter which is one of the most popular classes yet again. But i've said it before neutral charge minions need to go. not next year for hall of fame...they need to be hall of famed very soon. Leeroy was bearable because he was a legendary but these basic set neutral charge minions will always be exploited when cards that make them exploitable exist. the simple thing to do is make them rush minions where they could still be useful but most likely back to unplayable. I've posted about this several times and got shit on for it each time but i'm going to continue advocating the removal of these cards. I've heard this stated many times in the past and that is that these cards existed day 1 in hearthstone and some of the mechanics from the early days of this game do not belong anymore. There are certain classes that are built on being able to do damage from hand in the form of spells and weapons and conditional battlecry cards. But being killed turn 5 by 3x7/7 1 mana charge minions from my opponents hand shouldn't be a part of this game.
Bit of a salt post i know but this exact situation I've described has happened 6 times in the last 24 hours. Maybe i'm unlucky that my opponents are highrolling but I think as everyone is looking to find a counter or faster deck than DH this will become more prevalent.
I like classic cards design, simple and effective. If anything, tune the new cards that made the almost extinct boar into an "op" card (I don't feel the same way).
But, what I am trying to say is that classic cards aren't that powerful by themselves and they shouldn't be even more useless.

that's dumb, if they did that they would have to tune any new card tthat buffs beasts and we would be stuck with having a new and exciting card released and then nerfed just because boar exists, this has been happening since forever, quest rogue, apothecary rogue, whatever they nerfed from apm priest, the better way is to hall of fame neutral charge so that they can keep printing exciting cards with less chances of having to nerf them,
I wish there were more cards like Grom or Kayne. Charge cards that are really strong under specific circumstances that are usually reasonably expensive.
I think Leeroy was too cheap, and was designed to be too much of a finisher card. Like if you had a charge card that required some forethought. Like a dormant minion with charge, I think that'd be cool.
But >5 costing minions that are neutral that just have charge are lame.
Charge just limits design space, and rush is just infinitely better and more interesting. Boar literally prevents so many cards from being printable it’s insane. It is so innocent, small, and absolute garbage on its own, but the second you introduce any card that can provide a reliable and cheap buff to it, the game starts to break.
They nerfed both of the problematic cards related to the neutral chargers in this balance patch, showing how much of an indicator the chargers are for the health of the game. Imprisoned Scrap Imp and Scavenger's Ingenuity. I don't think they should HOF wolfrider or Bluegill Warrior because they aren't as easy to buff as boar, but they should HOF boar for sure.

How is Kayn not overstatted? The dude is a 4-cost 3/5 WITH charge and ignores taunts. Comparing that to a 8-cost 4/9 makes no sense. Especially since you need another card to make it worthwhile to play and trigger it to make it actually effective. Compare it to a Wolfrider, which is a 3-cost 3/1. Stats like that make sense.

Mostly because in order to use Kayne effectively you need a board/a Weapon and Demon hunter doesn't have access to a buffs, plus Kayne doesn't have a tag further limiting its access to sinergy, as much as i loathe charge Hence why i created this thread year ago and kept championing it, i'll be the first the one to admit that Kayne is actually a pretty well thought card

I'd like a comprehensive list of these elusive cards boar is preventing from being printed, because everyone always uses the line about charge limiting design space (which is why blizzard printed a charge card that goes through taunt, clearly) without ever saying what kind of card would be printed if the piggy was HOFed. If boar were so absolutely degenerate, you'd think it'd've broken up the wild meta by now, honestly.
Honestly which Neutral charge minion other than Stonetusk Boar has ever caused any problems? Even Stonetusk Boar was never really problematic until recently. Most of its interactions were meme level.
No one can claim Leeroy is broken as long as Fireball exists.
And Stonetusk Boar is op, you only pay half a Mana for charge, instead of 1 Mana which is the custom on the other good charge minions.
But I bet most people can't even properly list all neutral charge minions without looking up.
Stonetusk Boar was not the issue even recently. It was Scavenger's Ingenuity that was OP, 2 mana for +3/+3 plus targeted card draw was simply way too much. I think Stonetusk Boar was a problem years ago when Quest Rogue (the Un'goro quest) had to be nerfed
Remove Stonetusk Boar entirely or its beast tribe, and Scavenger's Ingenuity gets no nerf. Handling 5/6 phaser that needs a turn to 'get ready' isn't like dealing with a 4/4 boar that also triggers kill command -- you can handle the first, the second just clubs you right in the head.

I don't think the comparison of neutral vs class is a correct one. You're not gonna see me play fireball at druid, DH, or warrior, but you ARE gonna see me play leeroy with any of them, and with mage, and just because I can. Zilliax was the same, but as a class leg (probably pally) it wouldn't have half the domination it had.

Hint: it hasn't.
