With the new ranking system if you're matched versus equal skilled players the biggest factor for you to climb fast will be the win chance vs your enemy deck
In my case if i win i get 10 stars and lose ONLY 1
so why should i play unfavored matchs ?
i can just que with a agroo deck get matched for example vs a taunt warrior and concede lose 1 star go next game play the favored matchup and win 10 stars...
rinse and repeat. easy fast climb.
even if i need to concede 3-5 games before a favored game it's a BIG net gain.
OP, you do realize this is exactly how it's always been right? Rank 5 to legend in the old system, you did exactly this. You didn't waste time on matchups you couldn't win, you climbed faster by just playing against decks you had a good chance of winning against. That's how the races worked. It has literally never worked any other way, so why are you bringing it up now?
Yes thanks the new system, conceding bad match ups is even more viable. I've been literally conceding against every Rogue I see. Previously I would have to hope that I didn't come across Rogue as with Priest I have like a 30% or lower WR against rogue.
Q: If I “tank” my MMR at certain rank floor, will I be matched with easier opponents next season because you are matchmaking by MMR at the start?
A: No, in general you won’t. At the start of the season we will recover your MMR to certain threshold if it is dropped below that value, which is based on what your rank is in the previous season. Therefore, there would be no benefits to intentionally tank your MMR.

We're not discussing tanking your MMR intentionally though. What we're saying is that just like before, the fastest way to rank up after your stars bonus is over, is to play a really fast aggro deck and concede against matchups you have a bad win % against and just requeue in hope to get a better opponent. It can take longer to lose a game against control than win twice against other aggro decks or something midrange.
No you lose one star multiplier at each rank floor (Bronze 10, bronze 5, silver 10, silver 5, etc). I also see a lot of people thinking MMR affects your star multiplier; this is not true. Your multiplier is based on where you finished the previous month in that area (wild and standard remain separate).

100% not true since i was rank 20 in wild for the past year and i got 5x star bonus in wild
If i'm playing aggro, I always concede against quest priest and CW and did in previous meta too, but since I ran into them quite a bit today I changed to midrange. Priest is being played a lot at the moment, which might be due to the new changes to the basic set.

It’s only based off mmr because of the changeover. From here on out it’ll be based on where you place at the end of the season. I only played like 6-7 games last month but I won them all so I started with a 8 star bonus despite being only rank 17

Thing is you should be beating these decks on a good draw. CW and Quest Priest can get a bad draw against aggro and lose hard. Even if you spend 3 turns to see if you can keep a board or go face I think it's worth it to play for 5 minutes.
You could have a 70% winrate but only getting about 60% because you're auto losing before you even see your first few cards.
You're not really saving that much time by auto losing. I'd like to see the numbers.

I think I have a solid 20% against res priest with face hunter, while with midrange it's a close match up, CW is quite rare, but with Dr.Boom unerfed I just don't like my chances. You are right though maybe I should see the first turns how the match plays out since there is always a small chance that they have a bad draw.
EDIT: and i despise res priest as a deck so I would just rather not play against it with anything, let alone with a deck that needs really good RNG to beat it.
Isn’t this like the 3rd topic about this

u wont get 10 stars every game, only on low rank

Unfortunately wont work on diamond, unless you ve reached legend previously
You will get punished for it in the next season. Since the star multiplier is based on MMR.

Don't you lose 1 star multiplier for every win?

I love seeing ppl doing whatever they can to suceed without putting in the effort or actually earning the stuff they want to achieve.
You are a walking cliché that gives a bad rep to my generation

I'm having a weird feeling of deja-vu...
Seriously though, just play the game. Not everything in life has to be easy, nor does it need exploits.
Playing meme decks/characters does not entitle you to call a meta bad.
First of all you should ask why you play. Is it really only to be a high rank? Is that fun to you? Besides you will lose win streaks
