Why don't you make it clear? The dalaran heist is a scam.
So correct me if i am wrong but this content is somewhat very similar to kobold and catacombs and witchwood dungeon runs... well, tbh is the exact same thing but extended. And now you have to pay for the same i got for free to obtain 15 packs and useless legendary? fucking scam.
15 packs 1 GOLDEN legendary 1 Golden pack and that for just 20$ and you call that scam go buy ome brains plz
12 packs
pff no you got for theWHOLEadventure 15 packs
The first wing ( awarded with 3 packs ) is free. No matter how you capitalize or colour it.
I can't understand why some people continue to insist, that we get 15 packs if we purchase the whole adventure. It has been discussed over and over again, that the first chapter and thus the first 3 packs are free and EVERYONE has access to them, yet some users continue to claim that we get 15 packs for 20$ and try to make their arguments sound more convincing.
It's kinda hard to talk to them, amirite, Omicron_Persei?
They are just in denial. I waste money frequently in overpriced stuff but I try to not deceive myself or others about it.
I was really excited to play this new game mode but I was really let down. The game mode is just a dungeon run 2.0 with very little innovation.
The money/gold requirement to buy the whole thing is not worth at all, it's essentially a dungeon run but with the cash grab.
I hope Blizzard will never do another adventure like this cause it sucks so hard, first we had the adventures but we got all the cards and it was actually great, then they made adventures free but without cards and I accepted it. Now you have to pay too to play this shit mode...
Instead of increasing the playable game modes they have been essentially spamming the same mode for the last 3 expansions or so and now behind a "paywall" too. A really bad mode imo.

Yeah but it's not that awful, all the previous adventure costed that much and you can get the required gold in around a week. Also even if you count only 12 packs, you are basically spending 1200 gold in packs and 1600 gold to craft a regular zayle (which you get golden actually).
If you really can't stomach spending that gold and want to feel better with yourself, since gold to dust value is around 1 to 1 in general, you can imagine as if having zayle shadowcloak was a requirement to enter the adventure and you bought 12 packs for yourself.
The solo content has been free for the last 5 expansions, and now it's paid content, of course people are going to be upset, we've been spoiled with Adventures for the past 2 years. I think a lot of people are channeling their frustration wrong, especially some F2P players who are experiencing solo-adventure fomo. These players also are being told it's kind of overpay when using gold, which must frustrate them even more.
To the F2P players who won't be playing this but want to, I say just wait it out. Hardly anyone will be talking about this adventure in a month from now and the fomo won't be as bad. Or the F2P players can just buy 1 wing for 700g, don't worry about buying the whole thing, just enjoy playing 2 wings with Shaman/Hunter/Mage.
If we’re being realistic, this is actually one of the most honest features Blizzard has introduced to the game. The game has been transparently Pay to Compete (not necessarily “Win”) for a while now; no judgement intended, that’s just how it is and, let’s not forget, HS is a product provided by a company in the hopes of making a profit. This new adventure at least provides a a complete experience for the player before handing over the typical rewards for spending money on the game, which, although I don’t spend that money, seems like a far superior product when compared to just buying packs/legendaries for standard play.
Also, check out the player response to previous “dungeon run” style adventures. From what I can see, it’s been pretty positive, even despite how polarized this community tends to be about newly introduced features.
@endlesstides Pyramid schemes are widely considered to be scams even though their marks are, technically, fully aware of what they are buying into. I agree with your arguments overall, I’m just a pedant...
So it's $20 dollars for 12 packs and a single player adventure. How is the bad value...assuming you want to play the single player just to yknow have fun..
If you call it a dollar a pack, paying 8 dollars for 5 wings of single player content and heroic mode, seems to be pretty reasonable really.. equally, if you don't want ROS packs and don't want to play single player because you don't like it....don't buy it?
Calling something a scam when its content is transparent seems wild and immature..but then almost all of the comments on this thread seem pretty immature. If you don't like it, don't buy it. If you think the game is some dead end/scam/dying since beta...stop playing? Just don't understand why people would get themselves so riled up over a choice THEY make. Go play another card game.

I guess the reason is that Hearthstone is a good game and people want to play it. But they also want stuff for free.
But I agree in general with your approach. I mean, since the adventure doesn't give anything necessary for ladder and doesn't require a good card collection, it is even possible to open an alternate account (or play on a different server) and buy it with gold.
I can't decide who is funnier here - the people beating the "hearthstone is dying" dead horse as hard as they can or the people who think "don't like it? then quit the game" is a valid counterpoint rather than an ultimately quite damaging stance for any game to take.
What I can say is that there's precious little of value here for people deciding if they want to invest in this adventure. As someone who generally loves the solo content and actually bought every solo expansion to date with cash I was very underwhelmed by the first wing. I was really hoping people would have some useful feedback on if the second wing is an improvement worth paying for or just more of the same.

It is just more of the same. You get additional heroes with three different hero powers and you get a different stage extra (instead of the chest with 2 coin for each player, you get a dormant minion that wakes up when its mana cost is reached). That's all. But still good enough for me.
It's a market though and if you participate within something you claim is awful, you're a statistic of that market. Saying just quit isn't an out, it's a logical progression of you're not willing to make your own to compete. Annoyed milk in the shops isn't bubblegum flavoured, don't buy it..or go bring your own bubblegum milk to market if you feel it has placement.
The questions to ask in this regard is, why am I moaning and others aren't. Additionally, if $5 dollars here and there is a big spend for people, you've got much bigger problems in your life. I'll add that, a large amount of comments seems to lean toward an ideology that somehow a game should be f2p.....why should they.. people work on the game and the game is maintained and it is a product. Again, if someone is so annoyed...you don't have to play.
I agree with the opening statement - Im not willing to pay so much gold for that adventure. I dont give a damn about ur free packs, i dont need thrash dust. Im probably never gonna complete this coz soon i have to start saving gold for new expansion packs.
I think it's fairly obvious to me. You got free packs for doing nothing, even if you never bought or will buy the other wings. If you think this is not a good buy, then don't buy it with gold or real cash.
So Blizzard gave us something for free including packs if you finish the free content they gave out. Seems like no one was hurt during the making of this content.
I plan on buying it because I think it is good and fun and worth my gold and time. I enjoy playing Rogue like games and this seems to be very close to what I would want. Repeatable content with some random settings that can be changed.
If you wan't to complain that you DID pay for it, and it sucks and you want your money back. That's a different issue, even though I don't agree with that opinion.
Don't buy the next wing, as you are going to get more of the same 'suck' you think it is.
When you are sat on piles of gold the content could have been a lot shitter than it was and I'd still be happy. As it stands, super happy with the first two wings, seems like the best PVE content since Dungeon Run. I've already had about 6hrs fun from them, that's value for me.
Over the past 20 years i have spent thousands of dollars on Blizzard products so i absolutely consider myself a customer. We can talk more when you take off those tinted glasses.
That is irrelevant. If you haven't purchased this product, you cannot be screwed over by this product.
If you are satisfied with your previous purchases, you are - by definition - a satisfied customer.
If you don't think this new product is worth buying, that's fine. Vote with your wallet and keep your money.
BUT you cannot claim you are being screwed by Blizzard. You know exactly what you will get if you buy the Heist. If you buy it and don't think it's worth it, you have screwed yourself.

If you guys can remember back far enough when Blizzard announced they would be switching to full expansion releases instead of rotating between expansion and adventure they originally stated that the adventure (single player content) would be INCLUDED with the expansions.
Now they are hacking off adventure content so they can once again be charging for expansion and adventure modes. Except this time the adventures don't even introduce new cards. This is straight up and intentional double dipping screwing customers. The original content release format would have 3 new releases per year rotating between adventure/expansion, now that number is increased to 6 times customers are charged.
It's fitting that they call this a Heist because that's exactly what this is.
This is completely on point. The PvE content that was supposed to be included as a free portion of each new expansion has been removed. It was popular so they've hit it with steroids and a price tag. Douche move. Had they rolled out a similar dungeon run/monster hunt freebie and also offered a new game mode that required payment, I would not have an issue with it. Instead, what they've done is completely reneged so they can, as you so aptly put it, double dip.
Imagine the free mode would look like the first wing. And that the paid content would look like the 2nd to 5th wing.
Does it feel better or is the truth that you still would've an issue with it?
They are just in denial. I waste money frequently in overpriced stuff but I try to not deceive myself or others about it.
I like it

I personally dont really like the content, its a pretty mindless rng fiesta.
But to each his own i guess and i can just play regular Hearthstone so im fine.
Check. Either buy it or don't. Why moan about something you're not forced into.
