Not sure why this still sees so much play in a meta with so many easy ways to remove it. IME, unless I can capitalize on it in the turn it’s played, it is always removed before I get any value out of it. I’d happily be proven wrong, though, if there’s a way to avoid this!

Or maybe they do and can easily identify a bad one...

Possibly because ‘echo’ and ‘repeatable this turn’ don’t behave identically?

posted a message on Dalaran Heist is a bummer

Ok people, here's the deal (and this is coming from a completely f2p player): if you want solo adventures to be made available to all players for no additional charge, what you really need to do is start demanding that, instead of putting a price tag on solo adventures, Blizzard just inserts advertisements into the primary menu, the deck building interface, and before, during, & after matches.

Check out Activision Blizzard's stock (NASAQ:ATVI) over the past year and you'll see that its value has decreased by 39.519% (calculated using the adjusted close prices from Jun. 12, 2018 and Jun. 12, 2019) and at its lowest close (Feb. 11, 2019 - adjusted close price) it had dropped by 47.179% since Jun. 12, 2018 - and don't forget that this includes revenue from their subsidiary, King.com, which produces the entire Candy Crush line of games - so they need to make profit somewhere; otherwise, we will probably lose Hearthstone altogether. So make a choice: would you prefer ads interrupting every aspect of Hearthstone while you play the whole solo adventure for free, or would you rather have to pay to play the final 80% of the solo adventures that appear, at most, 3 times per year while completely avoiding ads in the remaining 90% of the game, which exists year round?

posted a message on Why Don't Secrets Play In Order Played?

@horkinger No they do not. Secrets in the same “class” of triggers will often be activated in the order they were played, but this is not necessarily the case in every instance. Assuming they did always behave in this manner, secret mechanics continue to be the gameplay aspect that most needs attention - even the most simple priority system for secrets would fix many of the current issues (including possibly providing a weak nerf to secret hunter without killing it, which would help Blizzard not nerf a class to death every time they try to even out the game), however, that would require introducing a legitimately new gameplay correction, which is, admittedly, a little more difficult than changing a single digit on a handful of cards that too many people whined about

Try playing freezing trap before misdirection just to have misdirection trigger first, doing literally nothing other than wasting a secret. That’s happened to me several times and it never gets less obnoxious.

Can’t complain too much, though. We don’t have to pay for bug fixes or gameplay logic corrections so there really isn’t any incentive for Blizzard to put effort into them.

@endlesstides Pyramid schemes are widely considered to be scams even though their marks are, technically, fully aware of what they are buying into. I agree with your arguments overall, I’m just a pedant...

If we’re being realistic, this is actually one of the most honest features Blizzard has introduced to the game. The game has been transparently Pay to Compete (not necessarily “Win”) for a while now; no judgement intended, that’s just how it is and, let’s not forget, HS is a product provided by a company in the hopes of making a profit. This new adventure at least provides a a complete experience for the player before handing over the typical rewards for spending money on the game, which, although I don’t spend that money, seems like a far superior product when compared to just buying packs/legendaries for standard play.

Also, check out the player response to previous “dungeon run” style adventures. From what I can see, it’s been pretty positive, even despite how polarized this community tends to be about newly introduced features.
