The fastest and most foolproof combo deck to date is probably questless exodia mage. The minimum cards you would need are Antonidas, Resurrect, Sorc Apprentice x2, Radiant Elemental x2, plus any spell. You can use the new draw 3 card since these are all minions, as well as stuff like Ultimate Infestation, Wild growth, Nourish, Counterfeit Coin, Prep to hasten victory and dump your hand. If they play Dirty Rat on the wrong card or you discard Ressurect, you just lose, but not much to do about that. You could play a few decoy controlly minions like Doomsayer to hedge against this. Though that weakens Elven Minstrel which is sick in this deck. I would say this is better than Paladin combo bc you can do it before turn 10, and can tutor out the cards. If Paladin DK is the last card in your deck, you would just lose. Base hero Warlock, Mage, or Warrior.
The best aggro deck is probably Tunnel Trogg, N'zoth's First Mate, hybrid Overload/Pirate deck with the obvious cards, and just hope you draw perfectly. The mage draw 3 discard spells card again would be sick in this deck, better than Divine Favor in aggro mirror. Call to Arms might be a liability when a perfect control deck can clear your board again and again, better to have small, powerful boards that require clearing. Base hero hunter or Warlock.
For Control, Dirty Rat to beat combo, Freeze effects, taunts, heals, and board clears to beat aggro, either Paladin or Warlock DK to beat opposing control decks, but not focusing on Paladin combo, just 2 Counterfeit Coins and a Beardo to beat stuff like Quest Warrior that otherwise out-attritions you. Warlock DK would mix in taunt demons with Priest quest, Nzoth and deathrattles. There are too many good control cards to name but some of the best are Defile, Twisting Nether, Equality, Maelstrom Portal, Vilespine, Ravaging Ghoul, Brawl, Frost Nova, Blizzard, Prep, Thalnos, Sludge Belcher, Devolve, Hex, etc. Base hero Warlock, Mage, or Warrior. Probably do not need Reno but might be better *shrug*
If there is no class restriction, can we use cards that doesn't belong to the original 9 classes + neutrals?
I am talking about Dungeon Run cards and treasures or Adventures Boss cards? Or previous Tavern Brawl cards that is not part of constructed? So many ideas here :)
Also this format would probably be a blast to play for 2 months and then there would be 1 or 2 super fast combo decks that would have a wayyy too high win rate thus the format would suck in the long run. But for a Tavern Brawl once every year: SIGN ME UP!
Ice block and life tap all day. The most broken decks I can think of have crazy mana cheat strats. Like Prep—>Bloodbloom—>UI into one of many broken combo OTKs you’d be able to quickly assemble. Add in shadow visions and some disruption cards and baby, you got a stew going!
Here is an idea: build a deck. Wild. No class restrictions (you still choose a class for the hero power). What is your deck looking like?
Me:
taunt quest, Hadronox, assorted taunt minions (white eyes, direhorn, LK, etc.)
On the side: coldlight, ice block, molten giant, coldara drake
I'm Nate and I enjoy writing. I got kicked off of my school newspaper so I figured I'd bring my passion to my favorite game.
Odd Warrior with Ice Blocks, then Anub’Arak as a finisher seems rather nice. Maybe add in Awaken the Makers for that extra surbivability.
Why would I? What is the point of this?
Dead but dreaming
Renolock with iceblock
Probably I'd try a hundred new decks. Here's what I thought of first:
Mill Rogue Warrior Hybrid, for the added Armor susteain + Dead Man's Hand.
Otk with Aviana, Coldarra Drake, Velen and that new 2x hero power damage Card on a Hunter.
An all Jade card deck with Shudderwock to top it off.
midrange freeze shaman with fitting mage spells, iceblocks and maybe antonidas
Aviana/Kun/Malygos+burn as a win condition with scientists, ice blocks, draw, freeze and psychic scream should be pretty nasty.
There are probably some disgusting token decks out there too (like cta+scientitst+mark of the lotus.)
I would love this to be a tavern brawl!

Turn 1 Preparation+Call to Arms followed by some buffs into Savage Roar.
OTK Beardo paladin DK with Counterfeit Coin and Innervate.
A jade deck with powerful jade cards for every turn.
Mysterious Challenger with mage and hunter secrets.
Loads of really broken stuff... I am not sure what would come out on top, but I think it would use cards from several classes.

Mill Mage with Gang Ups on Deathlord or Coldlights or Nzozth + Frost Lich Jaina.
