I would like a system that considers the popularity of the 30 cards in your deck. If you are running a very common deck down the the card, the system will pair you with other very common decks. While if you are running something unique you will more likely meet players running rare decks also.
Netdeckers should play with netdeckers, homebrew with homebrew.
But at that point there should be two ladders instead of one, no sense mixing them toghether
I would be more than happy for this in a different game mode, but laddering should be unrestricted. If you want to rank up you need a deck that works against meta decks.
I do think there is not enough opportunity for newer players or people playing fun decks to work around meta decks. I don’t think a class/card ban would help this problem. But I would like something that tracks meta card data and attempts to pair matchups better, but as it’s own game mode. That would be a superior casual system.
They should just sticky this thing like the salt thread. The everyone can gain an understanding of why it can't possibly work and will never happen without going through the agonizing explanation over and over.
The only twist in this one is the suggestion for a ban in casual, which is just nonsense from people who probably never play casual, or think it's a place to go stomp newbs to blow off some steam. A ban in casual, it's casual. Try growing up a little. Don't like a deck there, just concede, like I do. Nothing lost, unless you are a raging narcissist with a fragile ego.
Do you think there should exist options to ban a class/card on ladder in order to not be matched against?
I personally think that would make the deck building in the game more interesting.
It honestly wouldn't affect the originality of deck building. Take Raza Priest for example. If you ban that from your version of ladder you're just going to see Cube Lock. If you could somehow ban both you'd just see Jade Druid, Aggro Mage, or Aggro Paladin. See where I'm going with this? You would have to pretty much ban 1/3 to 1/2 of the classes until you would see different decks coming from currently underplayed classes (i.e. shaman & warrior). Knocking out the better performing classes also wouldn't prevent a wacky meta of K&C shaman and warrior decks from stagnating with some most consistent version of whatever the two classes could muster.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
They could just easily remove mage instead of doing this, lol
