I am noticing that people who play non aggro decks think they are superior in play to aggro players, and they think aggro decks are easy. Obviously any sensible person sees through this but why do people still think aggro decks are easy wins.
Oh, because it is just like that. This summer I convinced a friend of mine to start playing Hearthstone - never played any TCG before; didn't even bother to read what cards do in a lot of instances ... aaand reached Rank 2 within two weeks with Pirate Warrior. I wonder what would have happened, had I built her a Control deck to start off with.
Also I, myself, have been playing since TGT and have yet to reach something better than Rank 5. xD
I'm going to go ahead and say that there isn't a single deck(contro, midrange, aggro or combo) which is difficult to play in the game right now(not counting meme decks). The closest one is CubeLock, which still isn't has complex as many decks that were viable 2+ years ago.
People just need to get their head out of their arsehole.
Easy? Maybe because I got bored when I tried to play one. Maybe because many aggro players do play exactly the same deck. I didn't say the decks I enjoy playing are diffcult to play, they're just more fun and more diversity in the gameplay than trying to rush stomp the face of the opponent.
I am noticing that people who play non aggro decks think they are superior in play to aggro players, and they think aggro decks are easy. Obviously any sensible person sees through this but why do people still think aggro decks are easy wins. Also people using the argument that people trying to get easy legend always use aggro decks is wrong. Trying to use aggro to hit fast legend is because of the speed of aggro matches, not skill. Any thoughts?
Moral high ground. They think they are better because of different reasons I guess. Some people seem to think that more complex equals more intellectual. Some seem to think that aggro is brainless even though it's proven to be otherwise. I don't get why people hate on aggro that much. It's an integral part of HS, it's part of the meta. No aggro would mean terrible metas just as much as aggro metas are terrible. In KFT we had almost no aggro - suddenly another deck or decks was/were cancer. Has always been the same.
And I am saying this as someone who prefers control decks over everything else on HS.
I'm not other going to comment the skill intensity of aggro deck further than saying I believe it's brainless.
The main issue I have is that being betten by turn five stops a shit tons of creative when it comes to decks because they basically force you to play the meta of aggro if you want to win which hurts the creative that should be involved in a game like hearthstone which does provided you with a lot of different things to try but because you can beet someone on turn 4 you are automatically limited if you want to do well.
Simple: Control decks take patience and setup to win. It feels pretty bad as a control player when you fail to get your board clears and/or your aggro opponent draws the nuts and you lose on turn 5 before you even had a chance to start your game plan.
I don't like aggro because the games end before the match gets interesting. I like games that last longer and where it requires you to think of every single turn on what to do, how to play it and what cards to hold onto for the right time. Best example I have is old control priest vs paladin where you would save your entomb for Tirion or reverse saving Tirion untill entomb is played. Making clever decisions instead of just playing cards on curve and hit face as much as possible.
Aggro should ofc. Still be a part of the game since control would not be the same without a board of minions to control, but sometimes the games are just so fast that you don't get around to interact with the board before it is too late.
Maybe it's because aggro players don't even TRY for board control on top of the 1 drop turn 1, 2 drop turn 2 etc playstyle. All they do is sit there and say "me go face...me go face". The only time they even bother with board control is usually to take out a taunt that is stopping them from going "me go face".
"Control" these days really isn't what it used to be. These days it's just "Does your opponent have a board? Play board clear./ Do you have 5 mana crystals? Play Raza./ Does your opponent have a thread or nothing on the board? Play Anduin./ Does your opponent have health? Kill him in one turn without any interaction." Another example would be "Does your opponent have health? Play an infinite amount of giant minions until they have no health left."
It's just that so it's about as easy and scummy as aggro, and anyone that says different is delusional about the current state of Hearthstone.

The whole point of aggro is to make it "too late" for you and "too fast" for them.
I mean, I get hating aggro if there were no aggro tech cards (like, there was nothing but cho back in the days for 1-4 turns), but if you make control deck with lots of cheap AoEs and removals, cheap taunts -> you never lose against aggro, tho you are fucked against midrange.
I'm a late midrange player btw, I just concede to aggro and I'm okay with that. Somebody has to keep me in check :)
I don't mind aggro decks that actually secure their position on the board e.g. zoolock. What I hate are decks that reward this type of players who never try to kill minions, even if their trade is favored, it just doesn't matter because face is the place. You can literally copy this gameplay with mouse macro.
People who claim that aggro is a brainless deck are the same people who draw his entire deck until gets raza and anduin.
Also are the same people who play boardclear after boardclear until gets Voidlord on turn 6 after gain 8 health.
Also are the same people who freeze your board or put an Ice Block until topdeck a Pyroblast or the last piece of his combo.
And off course the people who just ramp until, boardclear, play a big minion or boardclear until gets Barnes.
So people who hates aggro and makes salty threads are just dumb people who can deal with the fact that just because you netdeck a high winrate deck not instantly get legend with it.
For me, it is, as others have said, the fact that I don't get to play out my game. It can be frustrating when you have a deck with a cool late game win con, and you never get to it because the game ends by turn 7 or 8 (or earlier).
On the other hand, the thinking part of aggro comes in aggro vs aggro. In control vs aggro, neither side has too many decisions, honestly. Its the archetype mirrors that hold the skill ceilings, imo. As more of a control player, I don't get to see that interaction too much, i just see - play on curve, go face, so its easy to hate. Honestly, though, there are matchups with any archetype that require skill in decision making, but often aggro vs control is not one of them, for either player.
Yeah because playing your 1 drop on turn 1 and then your 2 drop on turn 2 and then your 3 drop in turn 3 is really hard... or playing your 3 1 drops in turn 6 and then going for divine favor to refill your hand sure is super skill intensive... I'm not a salty baby that says all aggro only players are brainless potatoes but you can't possibly argue that playing any aggro deck is harder and requires more skill and thought that any heavy control or combo deck for example. Also yeah, the fact that a lot of people play aggro to push to legend is mainly because of the fast games but having to think less helps a bit doesn't it?

So, deciding which minion to kill is easier than deciding which one to play? That's a lame argument.
Control decks might be more difficult in other card games where reaction actually matters, but let's not kid ourselves every deck is SIMPLE AF in this game. Combo decks are slightly harder, but not really when you consider all they need is the right cards in hand at the right time (same as an aggro deck, or control deck, or any other deck).
I play all sorts of decks, including aggro and control, so I'm not really partial to either side. I do fully believe that people ladder to Legend with aggro because it's quicker, not because it requires less thinking. Aggro decks have to think about the opponent's deck just as much as control decks do. In fact, aggro decks have to think about it more because they're the ones taking the initiative, where control is reacting to what's already been played.

any retard can play aggro, hence why when i get a friend into the game I immediately craft them an aggro deck, and they can still win even being a skillless player by just smashing down card after card. Its insane the aggro players in this thread try to defend their easy skill less decks by claiming harder decks are just as easy to pilot to a victory lmao. Your going to tell me aggro is harder to win with then exodia or patron or control war? give me a break. You have to know when to use certain cards, those decisions are the difference between I DRAW I SMASH CARD DOWN I HIT FACE DUR!
First, I don't hate aggro decks, I just love control a lot more.
Anyway, the reason why isn't because they're easy, it's because even with a lower winrate an aggro deck will generally win more games than any control deck, since the games finish so fast. It means a player who is really bad could still potentially get legend faster than a decent control player if they have even a 51% winrate. Again, I don't hate aggro players, I just don't enjoy playing it/against it
The main issue with Aggro decks is simple. They simply are not Fun at all to play against.
Unlike Combo and Control decks that have different, mostly unique and interesting Win Conditions and Strategies Available with Large Room for Play-Making Potential.
Aggro Decks on the other hand All play similarly with the Same Win Condition. Play Minions and Spells and try to Quickly overwhelm your opponent, pushing Damage to their Face until they die. Aggro decks typically have Low Play-making Potential and Skill Floor making it feel extremely degenerate to play against or lose to.

Aggro by itself isn't easy, it's easy in Hearthstone because it has a lot of tools at it's disposal.
Stay awhile and listen!
Because Patches the Pirate is worst designed card in the history of the game and I slam ESC whenever I see him.
