their increase in prices is understandable considering money policy in europe honestly i don't understand why youre mad since you arent even spending money on this game
why would blizzard get rid of gold?
considering f2p - they announced to be giving a lot of packs for free as soon as the next cycle goes live, so be patient and wait. also they are about to give every1 the PvE adventure experience for free.. isn't that a good thing, too?
holy cow every1 on this site is just complaining and complaining. Im getting tired of this! if your attitude is "f*ck this game": take a break! there a nice alternatives (faeria, shadowverser, gwent) to hearthstone you might want to check out.
In my current job, we're considering raising the price of the student fee for a specific service we offer. It's because we're greedy assholes who simply want to nickel and dime students the fee has not gone up in over 15 years, despite an increase in quality and quantity of services offered, and the lack of increase is starting to catch up.
About 10 years ago, Tim Horton's raised the price of their donuts and coffee. It was because they're greedy assholes who hate their customers the economy was changing and in order to remain a viable and sustainable business, prices had to be adjusted.
Now Blizzard is raising pack prices. Obviously, it's because they're greedy assholes who hate new players and just want your money currency fluctuates, and in order to remain a viable business, they probably have to adjust to account for it. And of course since they take in millions of dollars every year, they can afford to offer dirt cheap packs and never make financially smart adjustments net sales and profit are not the same thing, and we have to be level headed about this situation and not be a bunch of circle jerking whiny children.
Point is, business raise their prices for a lot of reasons, and usually it's justified.
you can save gold for the next expansion, if you play your quests every 3 days you can get like 3600 Gold minimum (40g quest) when the next expansion hits (roughly 3 months) if you want to really tryhard for gold you can try to reach the 100 gold each day (30 wins) for 12600 gold each expansion. If you are f2p this change shouldn't be a big problem at all, Also if you are a consistent 7+ arena player you can get even double of this each 3 months.
It all just depends on whether you like this game or not. if it isn't worth your effort.... Quit the game (or play not to keep up but to have fun), but i quess people play this game more to unleash their anger and salt instead of playing so.
12600 gold each expansion = 126 packs
Do you think 126 packs are enough each expansion to create different varieties of decks? Including the huge amount of time you're gonna spend (because many people have education and work to do so they have like 6h of free time in max, not forgetting the fact that you won't really spend 4 hours of those with playing hearthstone).
This game went from free2play to casual to core now. Only core people, spending 4-6h a day can manage to actually "have fun in this game by creating many cool decks that won't even survive because of these stupid 2 decks metas". What's the reason you would want to play a tier 1 or 2 deck? I don't want to play the same deck everyone else does and I want to create different decks to test them and find a cool one. In fact you are just way too restricted to do so and now not only for f2p players but also for casual players who spent a bit of money for this game.

So let's get this straight, you want to be able to get over 126 packs per expansion without having to invest meaningful time or money? Seriously?
I didn't pay for any of the 2016 content and am a fairly casual player in terms of time commitment. I'd say I averaged about 30 packs opened when MSOG and WTOG dropped and bought ONIK with gold as each wing dropped. Played arena in the interim. I've never felt like I didn't have enough cards to keep up.
Expecting to essentially collect the entire set in each release for very little investment of time and money is the height of entitlement. Anyone who thinks this way should expect a lot of disappointment in the real world.

Welcome to card games, where you spend money on cards to put in your deck to be able to play different archetypes.
This is nothing new; hell, MtG had it where you had to spend $165 in order to get ONE CARD for a Modern staple deck, Jund. And you needed 4 copies of it. And that's not including the other card you needed four copies of that were $120 each for the longest time.
Card games will ALWAYS favor those who pay for the selection over those who don't. That's why Aggro decks are as common as they are; they're dirt cheap.
I have been buying packs for the last 4 months with Amazon coins. Even though I didnt like the increase it's completely understadable since in Europe we have been buying packs cheaper than in other countries. I hope it was the other way around, like decreasing the price of other countries. But still, 3 euro for 2 packs is indeed too much.
So that's why I have been saving gold. Started at 1st February and I am at 4k now. It's around 100 each day. Just delete the 40 gold quests until you get a 50 or higher one. No need to replace the 50 gold ones. And get around 15 wins each day and then you are okay.

i never said i spend that much time to get 126 packs. but i am just presenting options for people who don't try to find them. but the 36 packs is a realistic and reasonable amount of packs to get through the early parts of the new expansion for me
i am happy with what i have and i know i don't need to keep up with the meta because i create my own decks anyway.
No, no I'm with you man. I was just saying that people who expect to have huge collections in each expansion need to be willing to invest time and / or money. Clife seemed to be saying that he couldn't live with 126 packs and didn't have time to grind for them anyway, which is nuts.
yeah well, if you are a 7+ arena player with enough games played to get the full collection then you are probably among the best 100 arena players in the world... so yeah, thats a nice advice. :-p

What i Dont get is why aggro decks are so cheap? It would be easy to make every good aggro card epic or legendary.... this would also deal with the problem of 99% aggro in the lower ranks and would reward the people who pay.... just thinking?
Because Aggro decks just need efficient Stat Sticks, any 2 mana 3/2 can cut it if you really need it to. Leeroy Jenkins can very easily be replaced with Reckless Rocketeer. Will it be as good? No. Will it still do it's job? Yes. Patches the Pirate is the only required Legendary in Pirate Warrior, others are just there because they're good.
Now look at Control decks. What is going to replace Reno Jackson? Kazakus? Raza the Chained? Lord Jaraxxus, ERADOR LORD OF THE BURNING LEGION!? Nothing. Nothing will replace them. Those cards HAVE to be legendary because their effects are so strong and you only should get one of them in your deck, and it just so happens that control decks are greedy enough to want to run 5+ legendaries (Priest runs Kaz, Reno, Raza, Beardo, Saraad, Paletress, Thalnos, compared to Pirate warriors Jenkins (whose optional) and Patches).
The fact of the matter is, people run Control decks WAY too greedy, which is why they are so expensive, and why NO ONE plays them.

I actually run 10 legendaries in my reno rogue tehehehe. Rank 8 baby!

Yes. I don't even get that many packs between expansions and I don't have any trouble building any deck. I even have a deck I took to legend that is full golden.

Yes. I don't think I even get that many packs between expansions and I don't have any trouble building any deck.
I'm keeping track of how many pack I open each expansion and how many epics/legendaries I get from them. Last 3 expansions I seem to start with about 20-30 packs at release and keep buying them regularly afterwards until I get satisfied or the next expansion comes around. Statistically I tend to stop at around 90/100. I have all of the adventures as well.
I am f2p (the only time I spent any money was for the welcome offer since it was a very good deal and even then I got only dust from it since I already had both legendaries that came from it) and even though I can't say my collection is complete and I know it will never be I have almost everything I ever wanted to have.
That being said I have been playing this game since the first wing of Naxx and back then I was always slow to make the good decks. Now that my classic collection has almost everything of value it's a whole lot easier to focus only on the new stuff.
I can see how new players, especially f2p, will have a hard time to keep up with so much available content.

As a f2p CCG it should be hard for players who don't spend any money on the game to keep up and be able to play every deck. There has to be an incentive for people to spend money or else no one spends money and the game dies. The question is how hard should it be. If you are active every day it shouldn't be hard to get 150-200 packs per expansion, and I think that is quite reasonable. From my experience that is actually quite generous for a f2p game.
