So apart from the gummy bear teaser, I think the true reason they could arrange Naxxramas at 15th of July is because they actually want to avoid time conflict between World football championship and Naxxramas first wing release. With World Cup ends on July 14th, the first wing will be open the next day.
I think I just underestimate how distraction damage World football would do to Naxxramas--if the later one was released during the football match time. Many people could be distracted to football matches while Naxxramas hits. However, Blizzard perhaps somehow feels that their first min-expansion demands pure market environment which means no other major event to interfere,so they may decide to release that when World Cup is over. However, I completely understand that as I think Blizzard has "delayed" WoD to make room for young game like hearthstone to grow, they certainly don't wish to have Naxxramas diluted because of other distractions. Thus hearthstone can have the whole summer market with no competitors.
I'm annoyed because I am sick of this hype train and where its destination is. Blizzard has shown signs that they have already have this release pattern fixed way back in PAX. All they do is giving a blur summer time for player-base to live out. Yeah, they release one class card each week to feed the player-base and hype the train a little but sincerely I feel that's just not enough--one card per week feels almost like trolling. I plainly don't like their way of gating the information and I fear if they might continue to use that method in future expansion, many downsides would happen to hearthstone just like what happened in MoP end-game.
I think many would feel like Blizzard will release Naxxramas at the beginning of a season, I personally feel the same way because I suppose that makes more sense, however, July 1st for price release then I have thought about 8th. But I guess Blizzard won't do that unless World Cup is over, so 15th makes the most chace.
July 1st, price, July 8th, possibly unveiling some new cards for the first wing, then 15th, first wing opens.
I think you GROSSLY overstate the importance of the World Cup. People might play a bit less during the actual games, but for the rest there's unlikely to be any influence of the WC.
What they need is time to fix bugs and straighten things out and bring final polish. That's what will decide the launch, not the WC. :)

I really don't think there is a correlation between the release of Naxx and the World Cup as playtime for the games are fixed while I can just sit down on my comp at some random time to play Hearthstone. Anyhow, it seems that they have everything completed and they are doing extensive bug testing and balancing of the Naxx cards and probably fixing/nerfing/buffing cards that already exist in the game.
Why would football have any effect? The first purchasable part would become available after the world cup was over even if they released it as early as 8th of July, so it wouldn't have any effect on sales.
The reason they aren't releasing until after the World Cup finishes is because FIFA personally begged Blizzard to delay because they can't afford to lose viewers to Hearthstone.
Nobody cares about soccer in America. The media keeps trying to push it on us but we don't care. I'll wait for the NFL season to start so i can play fantasy football but in the meantime, i'd like to play the new Naxxramas expansion. Getting bored with the grind of trying to get Legend each season only to fall a few ranks short and realize I'm only going to get the same cardback as everyone else again. I still love Hearthstone but its gotten to the point where everyone uses the same decks and cards because there are only so many good combos and we need a fresh batch of new cards to make deck-building fun again. let's hope for a surprise early release this upcoming Tuesday or the week after. If you recall, the game went from beta to Live with no warning so Naxx could hit at any moment.
Actually, Naxxramas was supposed to be released one week after price revealing, that would make it July 8th. However, many people are convinced by gummy bear teasing because that certainly hinted something.
Coming from a country that is football mad and consumed with the WC I really don't see the WC as the reason. Games are 2 days on/ 2 days off now and it is not occupying as much of peoples time.
I doubt very much that they're worried football will interfere with their plans to release a card game. I always figured it would be released on the Naxxramas original release anniversary. That would have been pretty cool.
I know everyone is really excited for any and all information regarding Naxxramas. We’re doing our best to get it into your hands as soon as possible. However, it turns out we’re actually not going to be quite ready to announce Naxxramas pricing on July 1st as I previously mentioned—we do still want to announce more Naxxramas information soon, but I’m afraid it won’t happen on July 1st. We’ll get the details to you as soon as we have finalized information to share.
Looks like it was too good to be true after all.

They probably wanted to release it after the Steam Summer Sale.

dorks =/= jocks
I don't give a rat's ass about football, release it already :>

Tell that to every guy who runs fantasy baseball leagues
What I learned from this thread: you can't be American, play Hearthstone, and care about the world cup. /thread
Am I the only person who plays Hearthstone on iPad while watching World Cup matches? :)
Think Blizz should release a Tinfoil Hat card in one of the wings.
Hey, I care about soccer and I live in America (I'm also dutch, but minor details) : P
<--- has been playing HS more, becuase I can play while watching the world cup.

Then the only reason I can think of is World Cup.

The first wing is totally free. However, it could be possible.
