depnds on what you want, if you need some GvG cards to play wild next update i would spend my gold now. alternatively you should safe your gold. or if you re very confident in your arenaskills and ahve enough time, you can play arena, get even more gold and boosters from it.
Save your gold, save your dust. An expansion is just around the corner and most of your getting now is duplicates being dusted for 1/4th - 1/8th value, so it's like you're getting 4x more buy investing in the new packs where you don't own any duplicates yet. I practice what I preach, I've been saving since December and got a 7000g/4000d saved up. You should do the same.
I'm spending all my gold in GvG packs. Would suck if I had opened 39 of them without a legendary when they rotated out so I'm hoping of getting at least one of them while I still can.
Yes, but it's obviously more expensive than getting them from GvG packs.
I can see myself playing Wild-format as well, so that's why I'm opening GvG packs at the moment. At least until I get the next legendary
After you get your legendary, stop.
Remember that there's only about 10 cards from GvG being used in the meta, and chances are you either already have them or they are epics/legendaries like Vo'jin and boom. Unless you are close to triggering the Pity timer (and that's ONLY if you haven't seen a GvG legendary in the past 20 or so packs) then it's far far worse to open GvG packs and getting dust or bad cards than to just craft the few you actually want or need. Even if you are getting them just to expand your options, there's an expansion FULL of new options to play with aroudn the corner, and you are probably going to want those instead of Yet Another Jeeves.
If you are trying to get into Wild competitively, you don't need GvG PACKS at all and should be putting your money into better places, like the new expansion, Classic if that set isn't fleshed out, or Arena. If you want diversity, then PERHAPS GvG until you start getting dust packs regularly then you'd want the new expansion instead. Same for the completionist standpoint.
So really, unless you have all of the classic commons/rares and nothing of GvG and you are planning to Collect Them All or you have enough gold/cash to mass buy GvG AND another $50-100 for the new expansion on top of it, buying GvG packs may not be for you.
Think and plan REALLY hard and don't get caught up in the "OMG it's going away< I NEED IT!" hype.
I spent my 1600 gold in GvG packs. I love to collect and when this packs rotate, i will need to craft all. I openned Toshley, so 1600 dust saved.
IMO when the new expansion arrives, you have 6 months to buy new packs and collect until another big expansion, so you will be able to open tons of packs. But not GvG packs.
I'm not sure it's such a good plan to buy Classic packs in hopes of getting cards that are about to be nerfed.
I assume the goal here is to have more dust to craft epics and legendaries from the expansion. But I think you'll probably get more bang for your gold by spending it directly on expansion packs.
There are 245 collectible cards in the Classic set. They are nerfing no more than 20 cards -- and those nerfed cards are coming from both Classic and Basic. You will never get a third copy of Savage Roar, for example, because it's Basic -- and there will be no dust bonus for it because it cannot be disenchanted.
So the probability that you'll get bonus "refund" dust by opening Classic packs is much, much smaller than the probability that you will open some decent epics and legendaries when you spend gold on expansion packs, especially considering the guaranteed epic in every 10 packs and the guaranteed legendary in every 39.

i totally agree
I'd say save. I've sinned a few times, but having a pile of gold to buy some of the new packs from the coming expansion right away is a good idea.
It's less important than saving gold for an adventure though. 4-5 wings, 700 gold a pop. Ugh.
you can still craft gvg cards after the update correct?

Thanks guys , save save save
I did another round of GvG pack opening till the next legendaries. Got a Toshley on EU, yet another duplicate on US, and still grinding on Asia.
