Disclaimer: For those wondering: the point of the thread is: netdecking doesn't make you a bad player, yo can be a very good player and still netdeck. That being said, you won't find any kind of modesty in this post. If that's a problem for you, simply avoid posting a reply.
Yes, I admit: I never make my own decks. Sometimes I try, for example when a new expansion comes out. But after 1-2 weeks, I just come here to see what this community has created and 'borrow' the decks. Why? Because I suck at deckbuilding. And that doesn't make me a bad player: I honestly think my skill level is comparable to the pros'. I'm not even kidding: I reached legend 3 times (the only times I tried) and consistently reach rank 5 every month (who doesn't) mostly with control decks (so you don't come up and say that everyone can reach legend with face hunter or braindead decks like that, because I never use them). Also I follow many hs youtubers and most tournaments and often I find myself thinking a better play than the pros do. An example: semifinals 2015, thijs vs ostkaka. I saw the play of pinging my own face in freeze mage mirror before he made the play and before the casters started saying 'what an amazing play!!' or whatever. I also wouldn't have missed lethal if I were ostkaka playing patron by whirlwinding before attacking with the patron close to the flametongue totem. You are free not to believe me, but I can bet my ass I'm not lying nor telling the story bigger than it is. I'm just actually that good at the game. That being said, one thing I cannot do that pros actually do is deckbuilding. Also I think that not all pros are actually good at it. Because deckbuilding is an art and it's incredibly hard to come up with a competitive deck. That's why I netdeck. Also why is that a bad thing? I mean, I don't even like that part of the game, it's incredibly boring. I like playing games with a good deck, doesn't matter if it's made by me or not. Also, if people just post their decks here, why shouldn't I use them? Then what's the point of posting at all? Well, these are just my thoughts, let me know what you think on the topic
I've seen people asking for nerfs on ANYTHING. If Blizzard one day decides to actually pay attention to the community and starts nerfing as requested, we are going to have a game with only wisps. And still someone would say wisp is op. I'm not even kidding.
You're probably overestimating your ability a fair bit, is my guess. The ping to the face in the freeze mirror, for instance, was really not an advanced play, even though the casters did come in their pants. I wrote it in chat before he did it as well and I'm no where near as good at freeze as either of them. The advanced plays aren't usually tied to the current turn, but the few coming turns.
Anyway, I also don't understand the netdeck hate, I think it's ridiculous. I usually make a few decks of my own at the start of an expansion, in classes I'm proficient enough to build decks, but of course I also look at other peoples decks. The thing is that most decks are just so obvious that thousands of people have the exact same idea. Take the beast/fandral druid deck for instance. I built it day one and so did a shitload of other people because it was just so obvious how it had to look to work out.
TL;DR Netdecking is just fine, building decks is not for everyone and virtually no one has an original idea anyway.
I also suck at or never tried to build a deck from scratch cause i dont know what needs to be in it. I usually net deck it and change it up a bit to fit the ladder needs or my own preference.
You don't have to build your own decks to be good at the game and there's nothing wrong with that but the way you come to the forum and brag about your skills seems like bullshit generated excuses to make not us but yourself believe them. I'm guessing blindly that you gave up improving yourself after very few tries and now you're trying to cope with it.
Personally I enjoy making my own decks, trying out concepts and synergies that don't seem obvious and, frankly, are often just bad. Like spell damage mage or highly aggressive discard warlock (lol). I find that, for my experience of fun in the game, winning with a deck that seems just.. silly is an enormous enjoyment. I find it particularly amusing imagining my opponent thinking "what the fuuu" when he loses to a specific card that everyone on any forum tells him he should never be afraid of.
For example, majordomo executus is, by all accounts, crap. Yet I've found that in a somewhat altered freeze mage deck, he does quite well. After you've freezed and doomsayered their board, chucked down emps for a turn or two and, just when your opponent thinks "yep, toni, aaany second now", down goes majorlamo. Of course he kills it to get you down to 8 health but you were already at 18 so you only lost 3 health. Then he pops your ice block. Then you chuck down alex at 8 ;), and kill incects. Keep freezing the board, frost nova, cone, blizz, frostcaller. Finally he's fed up, you're out of clears and he floods the board. Down goes deathwing, opponent concedes, laugh all the way to the bank (rank 15)
I'm not a good player, never broke rank 12 and consistently loose to players I know are worse than me. But that doesn't matter too much to me because the element I love most about the game is deck building. I don't mind losing to a worse player using a better deck, the few wins more than make up for that. I enjoy high risk, high stakes games that are decided less with meta shifts and more with clever, devious plays (and a fair amount of luck ;) ). I seek the thrill of a long, even match that is decided by the explosive, legendary plays that, to me, make this game what it is.
I don't hold it against anyone for playing a net deck, I merely wish to reveal a differing perspective to enjoyment of this game. I hope that maybe some of you might try some crazy, wacky deck that makes your opponents scratch their heads sometime.
Coz not any1 haz the t1me t0 play 24/7 or money t0 attend tournaments.
Nice constructive comment btw.

I netdeck too. But I also play some of my own decks - mostly non competetive - for fun type like full stealing preast or randuin (inspired by Noxious but a bit different), Mage with Ice block and Ethereal Arcanists. Only Holy Wrath + Molten deck I copied from Kripp.
I think it is not that hard to build a semi-decent deck. Throw in some card draw, some AoE, good minions to curve, construct a synergy (depends on playstyle you want) play some games - fix it if it is not consistent enough - play again etc.
Net decking is a good thing, but not for any of the ridiculous self congratulatory reasons OP gives. I can't believe people can be so full of themselves and proceed to pollute the world with crazy click bait threads which consist of nothing more than puffery and irrelevant boasting.
The term itself is ridiculous, almost every competitive game has a form of it in another term. I'd like to see how those who consider it ruining the game find a way to remove it.
I actually need people to netdeck, it's hard to make counter-decks if everyone is playing random shit :D Also why would anyone trying to make a deck hate at netdecking?? If your homebrew/selfmade deck can't beat the netdeck's it probaby becouse it's a bad deck.... (i build a lot of wierd decks as i dont really bother going to legend anymore after already being there :P )
I don't get your post. Mainly you only describe us how good you think you are at the game and at the end you try to justify your netdecking. So what do you want to communicate to the netdeck haters (as the titel suggests) apart from our personal justification?
OP's post is just a huge humble brag without any real information. Why would he even think anybody is interested in his exaggerated opinion of himself?
"Guys, I'm so good at this game, but I really hate making decks. so I just copy meta decks from the web. My ability is equal to a pro HS player. What is your opinion guys?"
I always netdeck, as I know a deck I spent even 30 minutes building would be worse than the one a popular streamer played for over a day and made 100 replacements on the way to better tune it.
It's actually: Being a netdecker doesn't make you a bad player. You can be the best player in the world (not talking about me ;)) and still netdeck.

40 Million people play a game that has a card pool of less than 1,500 cards. Anyone who thinks their deck is original is an idiot.
Missing lethal since June 2015.

Mimicry is how we learn. There's nothing new under the Sun. Netdeck-hate is hilarious.
Just don't take your deck into casual where players actually like to play around with selfmade decks.

I can summarize OP post:
"Guys, I'm so good at this game, but I really hate making decks. so I just copy meta decks from the web. My ability is equal to a pro HS player. What is your opinion guys?"
There. Easy to read.
Frostmourne hungers...

Man, I sure wish I was as good as OP, and managed to get rank 5 every month!
I'm guessing he gets all the women.
