Every time I face a N'Zoth paladin I just know I'm going to lose. I've played so many decks against it but I always lose. Zoolock or patron warrior? Massive boardclears. Control? They can just aldor your threats. play their own threats and wait for N'Zoth to make you concede.
Is the only way to counter this deck like super aggro or something? Or what am I missing here? I always lose versus them and the ladder is full of these guys.
It sounds ridiculous, but I've had some success with control warrior with coldlights. They have a lot of draw, so if you can keep up the board control you can mill them pretty hard. Trump played a deck which is very similar to mine and posted it on his channel a few days ago. I'd definitely recommend playing that deck, or just giving it a spin. Very good fun.
I've had a bit of success with Super Aggro face shaman, but you need to pray that they can't get off a good forbidden healing, or things become difficult. It may just be that I'm playing the deck badly though.
As a N'Zoth Paladin player I can say that Brawland Entomb are may worst nightmares.
Aggro could be effective, he has enough tools to deal with them, but if he don't draw them the match could end fast, against control insted he has plenty of time to recover from a bad start.
Well, I run two brawls but I'm basically always forced to use atleast one brawl because of the paladins threats and hero powers and it doesn't work that well vs N'Zoth, because of all the deathrattles.
Playing that pally in fireside, I got brutally wrecked by a C'thun priest that only commited to board the strictly necessary until he baited my consecrate+equality combo and then slammed brann+twin emperor, followed by C'thun himself. I keep telling myself that I could have held to the combo to the bitter end, but it certainly seemed very effective against me.
Right now I'm running N'Zoth Priest, with my double Entomb, double Holy Nova, double Excavated Evil, and a Mind Control. I haven't lost to a N'Zoth Pally yet. It struggles against most aggro decks, though.
Miracle rogue is strong against control paladin. Since paladins give you so much time to just draw all your burn, it should be no problem dealing 20+ dmg in one turn. Rogues also have Sap for threats to buy themselves some time.
Aggro decks can also beat the deck, since paladins rely heavily on draw. Reduce their time to draw and force them to use removal on weak stuff = profit. I think hunters are better than shaman because of the constant +2 from their hero power and their stickier minions.
EDIT: And freeze mage, of course. Go for the OTK, the paladin won't kill you fast enough to avoid it.
Yeah, I've played a lot of N'Zoth Paladin recently and found that its worst matchups are against Rogue (Miracle and N'Zoth). However, I think that if you play it right, then the Freeze Mage matchup is in favor of the Paladin. Overall though, N'Zoth Paladin has crazy good matchups, even beating Rogue like 40% of the time.
EDIT: By the way, I just use Elise Starseeker to win just about every Priest game.
Thats just wrong, if he uses forbidden healing you just run out of burn spells and loose
Well u are just wrong!
Beside zoolock and rogue, it's the easiest matchup for freeze mage. Didn't lost one game against nzoth paladin cuz it's by far the slowest deck.
What's threatening? A 4 mana 1/1, turn 6 cairne or sylvanas? It's a free win if u know how to play freeze Mage. Sure forbidden heal, lay on hands, some of them even used guardian of kings, is a lot recovery but pretty useless against a thalnos otk.
I ended up running into a lot of Priests playing N'Zoth Paladin, so I added a few tech cards. I have been running a bit more of a dragon oriented build lately with deathwing, ysera, dragon consort, twilight guardians etc as well as Justicar. Generally against priest I have to hold sylvanas and tirion until I can bait out an entomb or two on my other bombs. The games are still VERY close, but I have seen my win rate against Priest go up quite a bit since the changes. Justicar throwing out two 1/1's a turn can get overwhelming for a Priest to deal with (it's also amazing against Control Warrior). The Guardians have also helped in aggro matchups, letting me hold my AoE for another turn or two which can be the difference between stabilizing or not.
Still tweaking, but yes Priest and N'Zoth Rogue are the two decks I never like to see on the top of my screen.
I've been rushing them down with pirate warrior. They just can't keep up with the tempo and huge weapons. Don't think Ive lost to one yet. Fat warriors do well too, just save your brawles. The problem with that deck is how much card draw people tend to put in it.
I've been playing this deck all day today and the decks that i'm mostly losing to are priests with Entomb (my worst nightmare) and C'Thun control warrior with Coldlight Oracle's. They get so much armor and you don't have that much face damage and they just remove all your threats and save Brawl for your N'Zoth, the Corruptor turn. Also Gorehowl has been a pain in my ass if i don't draw my Acidic Swamp Ooze.
Can also lose to heavy aggro decks like Pirate Warrior or Aggro Shaman if you don't get the right draws early on. Also, funnily enough, Mill Rogue is a bad opponent to face because you always have a full hand almost.
Zoo matchup is pretty hard for me if I don't play doomsayer turn 2 to prevent further board development. I also lose to CW that runs 2brawls and 2 coldlights.
People can hate on Yogg Saron all they want. But running either yogg mage or shaman gives you tools like hex and poly (if you run poly in yogg mage) with which to nullify tirion and sylvanas. Not only that but my shaman yogg saron deck runs elemental destruction which can clear a n'zoth turn easily enough if I don't manage to clear it with yogg. With or without yogg, the ultra control style with heavy board clears is a good way to beat paladin. Also yogg mage usually goes on the burn plan if it can, so that's an option if they don't draw their healing in time.

Patience is key... But so is RNG.
Priest swith lots of removal. Entomb takes away big threats and neutralizes N'Zoth since the likes of TIrion and Sylvanas aren't actually killed.
Fuck cubelock
Either double Brawl or Doomsayer + Fireball their Sylvanas Windrunner combo
Ramp Druid. Hard.
What he said although hunter still has less than 50% to win miracle rogue and control priest is favored.
Face Shaman often is a problem too, if the Pal doesn't have a nice a curve

Funny enough, I counter it with N'Zoth Priest. Just steal all their stuff.
