After more than two years without playing, I climbed Legend this season only with this deck. It is insanely good for the cost. Reminded me of the good old tempo mage. 70% winrate (85 win / 37 loss). Less than 150 games to rank all the way up to Legend from Bronze 10. Never had this kind of winrate back in the days... Is it easier now? Thanks Old Guardian, you're the MVP!
Basically, he's saying that they did not know that Priest was that bad right now untill the community freaked out because of Purify. How can you developp such a popular game and not know about basic forces of the meta?
There is no need to change the current priest set to make it more viable, we priest just need some more reliable options in early game. Some OP turn 2 for exemple, Priest never had a turn 2 which is effective on T2. Wyrmrest Agent is good but yeah dragons...
I play since the seventh season and Priest never was dominant in the meta, while all the other classes have been op at some point. Don't wonder why there is this cliché of the crying priest, we deserve better lol
I had Bloodmage Thalnos in the alpha of the decklist but in fatigue you really don't want to make it come back with N'Z and the spell damage is often irrelevant so really there are better choices believe me.
Ragnaros, Lightlord is clearly more important in this deck, but Justicar Trueheart is a neutral leg playable in Priest, Warrior and Paladin so it depends what you is your priority
Besides Eadric the Pure, I made all this changes at some point of the evolution of the deck, so I am pretty ok with all of that, seems great man! But I can't be fully ok since this is not exactly my deck lol, let me tell you why:
- The amount of 4 drop is already too damn high! (knowyourmeme) This is why I am not running two Sen'jin Shieldmasta, but may be the power of the card is more important than the curve, not sure about this
- Taking out Justicar Trueheart is a bad idea imo if you don't run another greedy card to have a back-up plan against control. For example you could play Elise Starseeker or may be Faceless Manipulator or Twilight Summoner to resist slightly better to cards like Brawl, Entomb and Twisting Nether which can ruin a 20 minutes game. Idk if that was clear but my point is that you have to run a card that gives you another win condition than N'Zoth, the Corruptor against control.
Concerning the rest of your changes I think you did well, all what you changed are more or less tech cards so depending on what you face this could be better than my version. Thank you for your contribution :)
