This is BS direct power creep..... why not just add this effect to bloodfen raptor?...Or atleast patch raptor out the game as it is literally pointless now except for pissing you off in arena. Your creativity sucks blizzard.
If a card is so low in power that it sees absolutely no play whatsoever then making a strictly better version of it isn't power creep because the initial card basically doesn't even exist.
"Power creep is the gradual unbalancing of a game due to successive releases of new content. The phenomenon may be caused by a number of different factors and, in extreme cases, can be damaging to the longevity of the game in which it takes place."
The fact that Huge Toad is better than Bloodfen Raptor doesn't 'unbalance the game' since it's still not better than any existing 2-drop. Power creep refers to increase in power level of cards in the game as a whole. Not in individual instances of weak cards getting buffed. If Bloodfen Raptor was instead buffed to be Huge Toad, you wouldn't think 'oh power creep.' You would think, 'oh ok, they buffed a bad card... it's still underwhelming.'
So the definition is a gradual unbalancing of the game. That means right now they are only making bad or unplayable cards better, but still shows that they are willing to make cards that are strictly better versions of older cards. It doesn't mean they will persay, but they have shown that they could eventually increase the power on already good cards. Also, Power Creep applies to any excessively powerful cards, like Dr. Boom, Mysterious Challenger, or likely the new Mounted Raptor. The game is getting more powerful cards and strictly better versions of old cards, which I would consider Power Creep. Even if some or most new cards aren't good enough increasing the overall strength of the card pool in any way can be considered Power Creep using the definition.
Also, Ben Brode did fuck up ages ago and say they wouldn't be making cards that were better than other cards and then as soon as TGT came out said they would do it with unplayable cards. One major issue with this change is there was a time that Bloodfen Raptor was actually playable, it got pushed out of the meta by other things and now its been replaced, that is the first time a card was even really remotely playable and replaced.

That's right. Cards that cause powercreep are cards that change the standards for what a card has to be to be played. The best example of this is Piloted Shredder as now, whenever a 4 drop is released it has to be compared to Shredder. The end result is that if Blizzard wants their 4 drops to be played, they have to either serve unique roles or purposes or simply make 4 drops stronger than Shredder. Clearly just the thought of a 4 drop stronger than shredder is terrifying but that's how power creep happens. If they do end up making better 4 drops then eventually 4 drops will be strong as 5 drops in which case the standard for 5 drops increases and so on...
That's how power creep happens. Evil Heckler, Ice Rager and Huge Toad don't create new standards for good cards so they aren't power creep even though they're strictly better than other cards.
You shouldn't just blame Ben Brode for everything though. There are other people on the design team. He's just the one we see the most.
Bloodfen Raptor really isn't playable anymore. It's just so much worse than the top tier 2 drops and you would never pick it over those cards.

So you're saying there is power creep but this card isn't Power Creep? I'm suggesting that the card this improved was previously playable, and this is a card that could be playable. It may not be the most powerful 2 drop, but if its better than an existing 2 drop directly and sees play that is power creep. We don't know for sure if this card will see play or not, but Flame Juggler managed to, and this has some beast synergy so it might.
Also, I didn't blame Ben Brode for anything other than saying one thing and then coming back out and saying something different. Which is exactly what he did. He even used the words power creep. hmmm, interesting.

For god sake guys, this is not 100% Powercreep. Scarlet Purifier kills this minion on curve and it triggers Lil' Exorcist Battlecry. Although, I'm not going to deny that Huge Toad is better than Bloodfen Raptor most of the time :P.

Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
I've been playing Huge Toad and Flame Juggler in Aggro Druid in place of Druid of the Saber and Haunted Creeper. So far Huge Toad is performing better than Flame Juggler to advance the cause of death, mainly due to it's stats and how awkward the death-rattle can be to play around. I'm about to replace Flame Juggler with Haunted Creeper to see if the tokens can advance the cause of death even further. Just today I went from 16 and no stars to 14 with 4 stars on a couple win streaks. I find it best to test cards in context before calling them good or bad. In the case of Huge Toad in Aggro Druid, I'd say it's quite good, definitely in keeping with the strategy of efficient trades and relentless damage.

Cool...
I've tested Flame Juggler and it hits face so often when I really want it to clear a minion with one health. It's to frustrating when it happens so... meh. I would play Huge Toad for fun when I quest in casual. Why not...
How on earth a random one damage which timing your opponent can control is better than a targeted damage? Yeah, you need to combo the roge card but its still way better.

worse then knife juggler end of thread. will never see play in constructed. Same story as flame juggler

I think they want to tempt people to take the knife jugglers out of decks with heavy beast synergy.
