I've had Ysera for a very long time, it's one of my first legendaries, actually I think it's my first one.
Lately i've seen Ysera run in many priest and warrior decks but I never really see it paying off.
I've played these decks myself but never had the chance to actually play Ysera. When I did have the chance to play her, I usually have quite a few options in my hand and opponent has an empty board and few cards left in hand, and they just concede at that point.
Is Ysera really warranted to be played anymore? Or is she just a flexible slot for sealing the game, where Nozdormu would usually have the same impact, because at that point, they have used their BGH already.
That's the thing, if they have no removal left, is it really better than Nozdormu, Nefarian, Majordomo Executus, Chromaggus, Drakonoid Crusher? Granted it can give you cards to combo grom with, but even so, you've won already at that point...
I crafted a ysera tried to use it multiple times but it's quite shitty honestly. Most of the time when I play it I only need 1 dream card out of all the options which I don't get and it dies the next turn if I don't.
Ysera won me many games, even some after opponent removed him the turn i played. I remember winning a hilarious game where i had 3 dreams in a row, and removed everything he played. The problem is she is 9 mana, even though it definitely worth it, she is still a slow card, and most of the times there are better options than just playing her. Still i think she deserves that 1 card slot.

Yes it is better, since it can help u to remove taunts (either "sap" or aoe), it can give u leathal (aoe or "PO"), it can keep your board full (gives u 2 minions), if u had Nozdormu instead of her, single taunt would stop u and he would probably never go face, cause he would be delt with 2 turns from now anyway. Ysera is VERY slow and quite hard to play, but no card rly comes even close to what she can offer to u (neff is the closest, thats why he is played instead of her in some decks). Argument that BGH is already out of the way by T9 is totaly wrong as well (too inconsistent to claim this). and 12 hp is VERY different then 8 hp. But like i said, she is probably the slowest play u can make, so u need to know if u can aford it, to reap the benefits ;-)
Ysera is extremely hard to remove, usually has to be executed, shield slammed for 12+, escapes shadow flames most of the time, or needs double fireball. Though it's not an 8/8 it can trade with an 8/8 but not die to the same things 8/8s do (such as two 4 damage minions). But you can also get stats with the 7/6 and 3/5 or get removal/aoe. It's just a really safe win condition minion compared to many others.

It's much better. The extra health over all those other cards are very hard to deal with, plus it just keeps generating high value cards the longer it stays on the board. Majordomo can actually lose you the game. I have had more than a few games where the other play is way ahead and they drop Majordomo so I BGH it and kill on the same turn. Ysera can catch you back up in the game, whereas all the other cards, besides Nefarian if you get good RNG off him, are win-more cards.
With Ysera, even if she gets removed immediately, she still gave you a card that will help in some way or another. Plus if she does get removed immediately, it will usually take quite a few resources, so unless she get's polymorphed or hexed, you usually get at least a 3-1 trade or better. That alone, for a control deck, can win you the game.
Ysera was the star of my Ancestral Spirit control Shaman deck around GVG. It won me half of my games just by itself. Being able to draw removal with my Earth Elementals and other legendaries paved the way for Ysera to keep late game board presence and get removal sine that is what the dream cards provide. It was sick and my favorite deck to date.
Thing is, it wasn't always that way, back when you'd get 2-3 cards off of Ysera and use them all to further a win condition. The unfortunate thing is that the aggro meta is too fast for Ysera right now, and current combo decks are better at getting rid of her than they should have any right to be, I'd honestly say Nefarian, Malygos, and Alex are currently the best dragons, even with Neffy's ridiculous amount of variance. Important to note though that Malygos used to be in a worse boat than Ysera is in now before Thaurissan, so shit happens, Ysera's probably not out of the meta for good, but I wouldn't recommend even attempting her outside of control warrior or heavy ramp druid for now. (Warrior's win condition is to just have a bunch of big bodies after they've become a wall so that you HAVE to deal with them because the wall is too big, which does mean your opponent is more likely to run out of answers, Druid on the other hand has better choices for now like KT, Foe Reaper, and Chromag behind any taunt due to druid's card draw.)
Also I can answer why she is usually better than Noz, Exec, Chromaggus, and Drakonid:
Noz sucks against anyone but A) combo decks and B) high level players playing lategame decks, and he's a BGH target, a SW:Death target, it also hurts more to get him Aldor'd, and finally, above all, he makes the "your opponent's animations go over into your turn" issue very noticeable, which can backfire and just remove your turns if you aren't abusing it with Brewmasters.
Executus loses you the game immediately the moment he dies to anyone with any burst, unless you're way ahead and requires too much setup otherwise, versus a lucky pull from Ysera that can be gamewinning. Also he's a BGH target, SW:Death Target, Aldor etc.
and drakonid, BGH, SW:Death, Aldor, people run too much healing for him to see play, he's too slow for most aggressive decks as they want to top out at four mana, except against cards that are otherwise just too good.
Finally, Chromaggus is even slower than Ysera and has no guarantee to go off unless you're priest or warlock, and then you're waiting an extra turn or two.
Of course, this is all in regard to the current metagame, so any one of these cards could become much better with the right synergy. eventually.

If your opponent has no removal left, Ysera will automatically win you the game. Slow card, but extremely powerful. I wouldn't say it's overhyped.
Have a great deck that's really, really cheap? Help the new players out

She won me several games in my control warrior deck
You can't compare Ysera to Drakonid Crusher. One is a 9 mana legendary, the other is a situational 6 mana.
majodormo and nozdormu just suck: why mentionning them?
Chrommagus doesn't do anything when played, contrary to Ysera, and has less hp.
Nefarian is good, but both serve very different purpose and can't be compared.

Fits great in slow decks. Great body, very hard to remove. Guaranteed card advantage. Dream cards are quite strong. Works well with dragon decks.
She won't very often turn a losing game into a winning one, but, if you are on equal footing or better she's a strong play. (she?)

I never knew that card had any hype around it. The card is slow but is very good in the control match up.

You have what? I don't remember doing anything in your deck bro. :P

Yeah, you can see her humanoid form in the Ysera Awakens artwork.
