Here is how to make a super solid, potentially 3 star master deck: Put 14-20 of any combination of these cards in your deck. Fill the rest of your slots with your favorite class specific removal/buffs. Aaand you're done.
Seriously, these minions are so good on their own that there is no point making a specific strategy for a deck. As long as your decision making is decent, these guys will carry you.
I was disappointed to hear that the open beta might by pushed back, but I really hope it's so Blizzard can add a lot of new cards to infuse the meta with new possibilities. I think really unique and creative strategies are all but dead. Sure you can still construct a fun deck that suits your playstyle, but you don't need to do so to get wins. Just use the above formula.
I disagree. Those cards are all great, but they don't make up for deck synergy. You can't just compose a deck of all the "OP" cards and expect to win.
Uh, yes you can, the Synergy is called board control. You can literally shove two of all of those cards in a deck, add some removal, a couple of late game finishers and you're set.

Exactly what I've been doing when I have to play classes I don't usually play for the daily quests. Works out pretty good most of the time
Refering to the comments about simply "mashing" the cards together, you'll get a solid deck, but not anything that can consistently hold it's own against a deck with good synergy AND strong cards.
^ This is what I was trying to say. Mashing all those cards together gives you a solid deck, but it is by no means optimal.
Leper is definitely not a generally acceptable 1 drop in most decks. He belongs in an aggressive deck, which these cards tend to lean away from. I'd much prefer Argent Squire using a class with a one damage ping or a strong 2 mana game. Or SSC, or any buffs. You get the idea.
All these are pretty much core in a control deck due to their value and the lack of ways to play control in Hearthstone, relying on generic minions with good value until you can get any of the game winning drops out. I agree that this causes control decks to look generic and "stale" (Priests have this problem moreso than other classes), but the meta is actually shifting away from slower paced decks. With a plethora of ways to build swarm and rush decks, this renders your argument moot in terms of the bigger picture.
I really hope the meta isn't turning away from control and toward rush/aggro(again). I mean the deck I have the least trouble with are aggro/rush decks and if that becomes the meta then people will get out the pitchforks and torches calling for hunter control to be nerfed : ( Anyways digressing yea leppy seems good to people because he appears to be able to deal his damage whether he lives or dies but in the grand scheme what does 2 health mean anyway?
Azure Drake costs 5 mana but its slotted between 3 and 4.
Fixed.
I would also agree that Chillwind Yeti should be up there. I'd say Sen'jin Shieldmasta is the most debatable of the original ten I posted so replace it with the yeti if you like.
I wanted to reiterate my point here by pointing out the last two showcased decks from the front page are prime examples of what my original post was describing. Let's take a look:
11 of the 17 neutral minions in the deck are in "the top ten." That's about 65%
Again, throw in your favorite class specific stuff and you too can have your deck showcased on the front page as some sort of work of art from a deck building genius.
*This list only includes cards of rare quality or lower.
Also, the cards are not listed in order of their power, but just by mana cost.
1. Acidic Swamp Ooze
2. Faerie Dragon
3. Harvest Golem
4. Shattered Sun Cleric
5. Dark Iron Dwarf
6. Defender of Argus
7. Sen'jin Shieldmasta
8. Spellbreaker
9. Azure Drake
10. Argent Commander

It was on the front page two days ago.
You're missing Chillwind Yeti.
Ahahaha, agreed.

You're not going crazy, I edit 2~3 times each post
Leppy doesn't have a strong effect on the board and doesn't do useful stuff in the turn he's played, and doesn't draw you a card.

I agree 100% with DonFurr. you don't see spellbreaker as much as well as Leper Gnome.

Nozdormu wins you every game where you opponent has to go to the bathroom on turn 9.
Fixed.

Stale as week old bread, my friends.
